  1. @SkyPanther I see your point going from one ego to another, but intention is where it all counts. If you are praying etc for wrong reasons like to pretend that you are good then it doesn't matter anyway. My point is that Islam gives you a way, but it is up to you with what intention you practice it and what ego you develop. If you are seeking knowledge about spiritual enlightenment just to show off your knowledge even most subtly then again it is growing a different form of ego like you said. Bielieving that universe came from nothing and that there isn't a purpose for us here, sounds very limited just like the earth is flat.
  2. @SkyPanther You clearly do not know that Islam teaches everything but ego. The whole religion is based on reflecting and "losing" the ego for good. It encourages you to fast which is difficult for an ego, and many other things. I firmly bielieve that if you minus all the cultural social conditioning; which is all man made ego profitable systems as you rightly mentioned and trace back the original text scriptures with an open mind (not logic), then you will be on your way to the path of enlightenment.
  3. @Emerald Wilkins I see your point, but he never really completely answers it fully. I don't worship God as a man in the sky, but rather as eternal being who loves mankind and you can pray to at any given time.
  4. @Natasha I seen the video science vs religion but just because somebody created a model with colours it does not mean that once you pass the blue stage you realise that God does not exist in a sense that you need to worship him.
  5. @BHL_20 I am Muslim, and my religion says to question everything before you follow it. He may undermine Beliefs but still can believe in a creator and a purpose of life?
  6. If you forgetful like me, than taking pictures on your smart phone of any ID's, passport numbers, national insurance number most certainly help. Also if your boss asks you to email any document, you can do it right away from your phone!
  7. @Ludwig That's a different one, what button exactly do you press to increase the speed?:)) thanks for sharing.
  8. Hey everyone, I am currently working on perfecting my affirmations. Working on being it more specific, length of time, more identity based. What is your affirmations? How well do they work for you if at all? I found that " I am winning" affirmation was quite helpful for me; although I been only saying it for 3 weeks missing 2 days. My new affirmation will be "I have an A" and yes it is for my coming up exams:). It makes sense to me that the more emotions I can evoke whilst repeating it in the mirror the better the result will turn out to be right? I noticed that anything that I approached in life was more positive, not on grand mass scale but definitely worth the effort.:))
  9. Hi everyone, I am looking to see if any one may have some tips or share some of their experience on what I am about to do tomorrow. My plan is to sit in the room all day, disconnect completely from Internet, family ect. Rules: 1. Staying silent all the day from the moment you wake up until bed isolated in one room, only allowed to go to a toilet. 2. Waking up at 8am.Muslim fast of no food or water until 6 pm. 3. No internet, no tv or any sort of communication 4. Activity, affirmations, visualisations, different meditation techniques, reflection time, building will power. I am curious what results these kind of retreats would produce on short and long term basis.
  10. Hi, Both blessing and a curse to being yourself, especially if everyone is around you follows the "norm" and silly things that society follows. Blessing that you are being your authentic self, and it's awesome. Although on the flip side it does get lonely at times. Recently breaking up with my ex naturally left me in emotional pain, mainly because she was that person that just understood all the higher concepts in personal development that I admired like spiritual enlightenment ect. It leaves me in a place where I don't want to socialise with the people around me including my family because they just think TV, Facebook, money, ect. Any one else in a similar boat?
  11. @Water thanks for the reply, you are right, I do believe the right one will come along. You know what with the planting seeds in my families heads would be something that I never did before. I just become impatient. I will give a go though
  12. @WickedIrish @WickedIrish intersting story, the lack of comprehension. It sounds like you are very in touch with you spirit, and you may be not so far away from spiritual enlighment! Thanks for sharing! Confidence fluctuates depending on the day for me !:)
  13. @Clay Curl Thank you for the advice, I will have a look at that website you shared! Think you are right, I am done explaining to others.
  14. @WickedIrish The lack of comprehension from the people closest to you right?
  15. @Sarah_Flagg right, and what about friends&family ? I find it more frustrating to talk to them because they dismiss it or think you are crazy. It's like talking to brick wall ha.
  16. @Sarah_Flagg Thank you Sarah, does your work involve a lot of socialising with people?
  17. Hey Univ, it's the same way how I feel with then people I interact on day to day basis. You do get the odd one one out where you are on the same wavelength as you but rarely. The ones who are, usually pretty busy themselves and you don't want to take much of their time. Unfortunately from social conditioning people stay on the main stream things but don't worry you will make the friend you want, don't change for nobody.:))
