  1. @Amun For some it can take a lifetime of dedicated practice to become fully delusional. For others it seems to come naturally. Why is that?
  2. @Charlotte Do you know anyone with a house for holiday use. A cabin at a lake or mountains . A getaway place that's secluded?
  3. @Jonty If by "infinity" you mean the absolute you may want to look into what Nisargadatta has to say. Some quotes of his seem to point to this question. One for instance being: "The absolute (para-brahman) has no knowlage of itself" When fall comes and leaves start falling off a tree does the tree have knowlage of this? Infinity/the absolute could be the same.
  4. @Wisebaxter Just started reading "Know Yourself" An explation of the oneness of being. So I came accross this quote and wanted to share it here. "The World is imagination. Yet in reality it is real"
  5. @cena655 Spirituality isn't about attaining worldly gains per se. Becoming more conscious will make you a more open and excepting person which will express itself in the way you deal with the world at large. That in itself is always a plus but not the "true at heart" reason to actually follow a spiritual path but it is a positive byproduct that is applied to everyday life.
  6. Picaso was once asked why he didn't paint reality as it is. Picaso replied: What is reality? the questioner reached into his wallet and pulled out a picture of his wife and said "this is reality" Picaso looked at the picture and said" "she's really flat".
  7. @the_purple_tuba Was thinking of the ruby slippers and the story of Oz about an hour ago as I was reading this post. Funny thing that you should mention it here. Oz seemed so real to Dorthy but was it all just illusion? Follow the Yello Brick Road = The path to awakening from illusion. Trust only in the Ruby Slippers = Truth can only be found from within.
  8. @valleyken He's a guru for the everyday working man that suffers from life. "I never met a man that gave me more trouble then myself" sums up his message.
  9. Don't confuse the biological organism with what you are.
  10. @Wisebaxter God exploring-experiencing- expressing itself in infinate ways. Like infinate fingers of a hand.
  11. @Wisebaxter That's a huge understanding right there.
  12. You may have missed an important point Leo was trying to make "it's all one universal mind"
  13. @Paul92 It doesn't matter if you believe in it or not. What matters is that it got you on your toes questioning everything.. And here we are.
  14. That's all an illusion. It never happened. It's you that doesn't exist.
  15. @Nahm That was me at the time. Total surrender of everything was key. The biggest take-away was the realization that consciousness/awareness/presents is not fixed at the body location as it is "normally" experienced to be. That is an illusion created by the ego/mind taking possession. Perception may be localized at the body/mind but awareness/presents/consciousness has no specific location.
  16. @inFlow haha that's something you won't forget to soon! Same thing happened here. Freaked me out for sure. I remained looking at the room through the eyes from the body location (not like an OBE) but yet awareness/consciousness was projected out in front of me. Somehow consciousness had become liberated from the body location. At first I backed off b-c I had the same reaction as you thinking maybe I wouldn't come back again. So pulled myself together for a moment and thought: "something special is presenting itself here-why not just surrender to it?". So I did and something really amazing happened. Suddenly I was no longer aware of the room but had entered into a state of Samadhi. The room I was in and even the world no longer existed. I didn't know about Samadhi at the time so I searched NDE's because that's all I could think of . But It didn't quite fit. Only later on did i find out what Samadhi was and it fit perfectly. Moral of the story here you may have missed an opportunity. Next time-go for it! You'll come back again. You'll be different, but you'll come back. Just as a side note: There were no substances involved, only total surrender (anyone can experience it anytime).
  17. @Tistepiste The fish in the aquarium have different personalities even among same species and sex. Just noted as an observation.
