From my experience (so far) samadhi is when manifest reality falls away and a non-manifest reality is revealed. I wouldn't call it a "state" exactly b-c states are more the property of the manifest.

The answer was addressing you mentioning ppl hearing God speaking "out loud". That may need some re-evaluating. But maybe you misunderstood their meaning of "hearing" God or "hearing God's voice"? Like now for example with the fire in Paris and this being a high holy week for christians. Support is pouring in from all over the world because ppl are hearing God's voice speaking to them. And not just Christians are hearing it either.
