  1. @Serotoninluv Yea surrender is key in all of this. For some it comes easy. Others not so much. But when they do, it's eppic.
  2. @SerotoninluvAlways wanted to try the float tank. I can see how the could be a quick way to experiencing ego death/no self. If you allow it to happen that is.
  3. @Omario Commit ego suicide. Look in a mirror (optional) and say to yourself "Everything I've held true about myself since the day I was born has been a lie". Can tell you from experiance that will give you an ego death. Tried it a few times and nothing happened at first so almost gave up. Gave it one more honest try. Caution: It's a real foundation shaker to the physiological self.
  4. @Aaron p A shift in awareness from small mind to big mind is what's needed to keep up with this stuff. Better hold on because small mind is about to go bye-bye. Stole that from The Matrix.
  5. @SoonHei Here's a good one "Man stands in his own shadow and wonders why there is only darkness"
  6. @SoonHei That's good. Reminds me of the story where a guy is outside searching for something under a lampost. Some passerby's come and ask "Are you looking for something?" He replies "I lost my keys". So they help him search for the keys and after some time one of them says "I don't see them anywhere around here. Are you sure this is where you lost them?" He replies "No I lost them in the house but it's too dark to search in there".
  7. @SoonHei I talking more about "alternative" realities other than the one you are experiencing now at the keyboard. But it does include meditation and the spiritual pursuit. All these worlds are you.
  8. The final state is anupaya, which means “the non-technique.” At this point there’s no effort at all. We simply relax into our inner being continually, resting in our true nature. At this level we enter a superhuman state of consciousness called turiyatita, which means “even beyond turiya.” Abhinavagupta’s descriptions of what this is like sound like science fiction and yet the reality of this condition has been attested to by many advanced yogis. At this level the distinction between us and Shiva dissolves. We feel ourselves pervading all of space; the universe itself becomes our body. We can sense anything that’s happening anywhere. If we sense that anyone is in distress, through the merest flicker of our will we can send comfort and aid. Abhinavagupta says that masters of this caliber can create their own universes if they want to. And indeed the yoga tradition is full of accounts of Buddhas and other great siddhas who actually manifest new heaven worlds which other souls can visit.
  9. @SoonHei Yea exactly, that is a sure fire way of getting swallowed up (bringing your ego into an area like this). This is a subject that deserves nothing but total respect. Not just something you want to enter just for curiosity sake or for shits and giggles.
  10. @SoonHei O.K. I say this with hesitation but I was a part of this years ago. Carlos Castaneda opened up this world to me. I'll say this- You really gotta know what your doing before you venture into this or you could be opening a can of worms that you may end up wishing you never opened. I'm not saying this reality isn't just as real as any reality. There are many realities that are just as valid as you allow them to be.
  11. @DecemberFlower Somebody around here was interested in exactly this about 2 weeks ago. Leo replied to him "Be careful what you wish for" or something to that effect. The next week he was back saying he bit off Waaayy more than he could handle. Just a word of truth.
  12. Maybe you are unconsciously summoning the spirit world. Does that sound like a better possibility in your mind?
  13. @DecemberFlower The mind is creating a diversion so it can keep you from seeing truth within stillness.
  14. @Cortex Only you would know for sure. Has it happened before under ordinary circumstances or mostly when you meditate?
  15. @brugluiz I'm not a medical professional nor do I know exactly what you experienced but it sounds like you may have experienced something similar to an enlightenment experiance. When you said It felt as if "everything was connected" is a sure sign.
  16. @lmfao I just have to look in the mirror to spot one. Once you've seen one, you can spot 'em all.
  17. @Jack River It was a lot like this pic. Think of it as an entities very first baby picture before conception. I know, that some crazy shit!
  18. @Cortex Your seeing through the veil. There is no such thing as "the experiance of reality". So why should you hold on to it? Or maybe you didn't go that far?
  19. @riplo For the most part it's really all about the amount of time it takes the ego to fully erode. Most are so invested and lost in the ego when first starting they will be needing some words to help guide them out of the dream of self as it is happening. It took X amount of years to build the illusion. It usually doesn't crumble overnight.
  20. @robdl That one is my artistic expression of awakening through the use of photography. "The Gateless-gate of ego death". Glad you found it familiar in some way. I've seen it too in meditation even before the photo was taken.
