The way I see it, the moment when you start thinking that you are really conscious and can easily spot deception, is the moment when you become the most vulnerable to getting deceived. I prefer to stay humble and only take life advice from people who I respect and who I know have high integrity. -

@Starlight321 I think that she is justified in how she feels because there were issues with how Leo brought this topic up. -

Okay. I will try to notice that. I know you said that that JP interview is not serious, but there they were talking about Musk's AI. Jordan Peterson was asking him about the dangers of AI and Elon acknowledged them, but used the standard justification about how it's going to be developed either way, so I might as well participate and make sure that it's done right. When it came down to specific of what it means to "do it right", it boiled down to them thinking that the main issue is that ChatGPT is too woke and that they need to find a way to make sure that their AI doesn't catch this woke virus... I guess my point is that how do you look at someone separately from their politics when "politics", in a broad sense, guide their every decision. -

@Leo Gura what things about Elon did you emphasize with the most? -

@Starlight321 I think this is the issue some people might have with those kinds of videos. If you caught Elon being dishonest before, how do you know if any of that is true or if he is saying it to make himself look good? -

I think that's an amazing thing to practice. I feel like if you put it in those words from the beginning, just being neutral and sharing your experience, more people would be open to trying it. -

He is arrogant. He is arrogantly calling others selfish, evil, hedonistic, not even bothering to investigate whether its true or not. Not my fault that you are blind. Where did I identify myself as anything? Like I said, I don't even remember talking to you. Nice assumptions. You know me so well. Seriously, did I lose my memory and you are my 20-year-long friend? This is just objectively not the case. If you look at real reality, you will have a super hard time finding examples of unconditional compassion and inclusivity. Mind giving me some? On the other hand, almost everyone feels conditional compassion on some level. It is totally human. When he talks about anti-natalists being crazy and selfish psychopath, I feel compassion for anti-natalists for being so misunderstood and wrongly accused. Because I talked to some anti-natalist people, and they were super sweet, kind and self-less. I don't feel compassion towards JP for twisting truth and trash talking about others like that. -

@Leo Gura if I can give some unasked for feedback, I wish you brought that up in a gentler way. You did sound kind of harsh and dismissive. And "you are stuck at stage green" can sound like an unfair personal attack, especially if a person thinks that it's not true. -

Can you at least point out what's so stage green about what she said? What are the excesses of stage green in this case? -

The question is: can they hold long enough so that it becomes relevant. In his latest speech, putin doubled down saying that there can be no negotiations with Ukraine because they invaded Russia -

@Leo Gura do you have any recommendations? I wanted to watch joe rogan and lex fridman next. -

@questionreality huh? I don't remeber talking to you, are you bringing uo some post of mine? In just first 20 minutes of the interview they get off subject and start talking shit about women, progressives, and criticizing chat gpt for having woke virus. While acting super arrogantly. But I am not allowed to point out how he seems to be losing it, because that's too judgemental? If you don't want to be judged and dismissed, maybe you should humble yourself first, and behave like a decent human being. The same aplies to compassion. If you want people to feel compassion for you, maybe you should start with treating other people nicely. You can't be the worst pos on earth, but expect other people to behave like angels. -

@OBEler it's hard for me to say if this is true because I didn't watch any of his other interviews. But to me it looks like he is lost in his own mind. I don't think he is nervous because of Elon. -

@Leo Gura I think you've been very biased and off point yourself in this thread. For example Emerald, was raising valid questions and asking to give any specific critique of what she said, and your answer was: "Your mind is stuck at stage green". When she wasn't even arguing from the stage green pov that much. Do you think that it was an intellectually honest answer to give? To quote you: a chat bot could give a better response. You tell her and others to go and watch 10 hours of Musk interviews, but couldn't spend 5 minutes to seriously entertain her postion and give a genuine response. Secondly, you seem to have some serious beef with stage green and be unfairly biased against it. Whenever it's a stage orange or below perspective, we are supposed to be unbiased and think about it deeply, without judgement. But when it comes to stage green, it's okay to just dismiss it as moralistic, self-deceptive and cookie-cutter, right? You seem to forget, that stage green in the next stage of development for all of the 1st world countries. So even though it might not be absolutely true, or the highest perspective ever. It is still more developed than orange and the rest, and is totally appropriate for the situation. We need more stage green perspectives and policies, not less. Environment Fair taxation More regulations of corporations Human rights Less corrupt governments All of those are very relevant right now. You can talk about how idealistic and stuoid stage green people are, but the fact is that if the maajority of the world would be stage green, we would be in a much better place right now. -

Exactly. And I don't think it is a surprise that people on a self-actualization forum don't respect biased, selfish, and unconscious people. What does it matter if they are original in this or not? -
Something Funny replied to integral's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Leo Gura why do they have to be original if they are still on point? This is not a contest of who can trash talk Musk better. He is selfish, he has low integrity, he doesn't care about anyone but himself, he is immature. Those qualities make me not like him. Is there anything wrong with people being turned off by people like that? Is that stage green or just common decency? I am pretty sure that there are stage orange and blue people who dislike Musk for the same reason. And even if it's really stage green, is it really a bad aspect of stage green? Because you can talk as much as you want about how cookie ctter and predictable it is, but in the end of the day, they are right: it is harmful for us as a society to let people like Musk have so much unregulated power. Do you disagree with any standard left talking points on this? Taxation, wages, worker rights, etc.? -
Something Funny replied to integral's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
@Leo Gura I understand your point, but don't you think that you need to be a certain type of person to have "crappy politics"? Why don't you have crappy politics? Also, I think that you don't give enough credit to people on this forum. You basically dismissed every argument in this thread as "you hate him cause you are stage green". Many people here are above green, or at the very least not just green. And most arguments weren't about him supporting trump or whatever, they were about him being a shitty person as a whole. Imo, musk has very low integrity and is immature, even if he is not a con artist per say, and that's what people here mostly criticized him for. -
Something Funny replied to integral's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
Is it moralistic to say that he talks and behaves like an idiot? You say that twitter posts shouldn't be used to judge a person, but why not? Do you see any actual smart and serious people have post history of a 14 year old troll? The way I see it, anyone can say anything about themselves in an interview setting. Trump probably has some interviews that make him look very smart. But how they behave in their daily life is much more representative. -
