They do have minimums wage implemented through agreements with the workers as said in the article. Corporations do get bailed out by govt so it's okay to mandate a min wage. It's long gone when min wage should be doubled.

Recently I read a post by Leo that pursuing a life of higher development must come with high cost. You have to put up with lots of suffering. What I thought was that suffering is a bug in reality. That something that you are doing is fundamentally wrong when you are suffering. Do you miss out on Life by suffering? Does pursuing the Good life by extraordinary levels of suffering come with significant rewards? Should you try to minimise suffering? What is the correct way to suffer? Should you let yourself suffer endlessly or should you call ut quit? Thoughts?

It's important to see that you are addicted to this drama, non sense and bullshit. Not at the God level, but at the human personal level. You kind of like suffering like a masochist. The kind of experience and little treats that you get from suffering. That makes yourself too attached to suffering, even while suffering is totally imaginary in this game of life that God imagine. It's like deducting points from the game or something silly like that. Suffering exists as a part of the game, which serves as a crucial compenent to make it real. If you were totally liberated from suffering, you wouldn't want to do that, you would want tot go back to imagining Suffering. ---- These are just my musings. @DefinitelyNotARobot nothing is being put on a pedestal. This is merely questioning and contemplating the nature of suffering. Suffering is an integral part of life and it is better that we address that it doesn't become a thorn in the ass later. Entire spiritual systems have been made solely to escape suffering. So it's better to take control and understand suffering for what it is than getting lost in ideologies inspired by escaping suffering.

Posting all my thoughts from contemplating suffering: Suffering is a an important feature in the imagination of reality by God to make it real. Which is why it's so hard to get anything done, things always go sideways, and life is just pain no matter whatever you do. You can never escape from the costs even if go obsess every single fibre of your to living correctly. There is just endless suffering. Suffering is simply imagined by God for no real reason, actually. It simply is imagined as a feature of reality to make it more real. There need not be any cause and effect between suffering and the things that causes suffering. Even that relationship is imaginary and wouldn't exist unless imagined. I think a worthwhile life is when you have a lot of ups and downs. Suffer a lot as well as enjoy a lot. Suffering is like a cost. And you can reduce the net cost by restricting yourself from engaging in transactions at all. And you can maximize the value from those few transactions you actually engage in. I think a conservative worldview is the best if you want to completely mitigate suffering. Amd you can have a bit of joy as well occasionally. The entire conservative setup is so nice if you think about it. And most of these liberal are also conservative who happened to be slightly more privileged, so don't get lost in the conservative vs liberal fallacy.

Closer to my point. Using taxis instead of owning a car is a step away from car centric culture. But that's doesn't need a lot of money. That's way cheaper than owning a car.

Sure. But you might still get your car toed to some dump yard, stuck in traffic and struggle to find parking spaces. Move to a non car centric city. You cannot buy your way out of anxiety.

The only long term solution is to move away from car centric culture as a whole. It's a structural problem within canada/us.

I would talk to Da Vinci. No one else I admire more than him. I would like to see him work to see what fueled his unquenchable curiosity. Apart from that I would like to know about emperor and evaluate their level of development and see how low it can go. There should be some astounding realizations in there.

I am not saying it's going to happen, but just imagine if he is charged and convicted for trafficking minors. A good portion of RW has doubled down on their support for Tate. There is good chance that they will go down too in case he gets convicted for those charges.

Life is a lot about mistakes, contradictions, and tradeoffs. It's impossible to satisfy your idealistic self. And that's kind of the problem with life, it's finiteness and thinking that you have missed out and feeling like you lost it. I am only making peace with it myself. Having everything perfect would be too boring and you would seek out more hell and challenges. Plenty of people would qualify as the "loser", whatever your standards of it are. But that may not mean they have lost. After all it's mistakes and learning from them is what life is all about.

Far better predictor of being fat is caloric intake. After than comes genetic tendencies. Genetic tendencies become a significant predictor only in a small number of cases. Like real medical cases. Not a mere predisposition to getting fat. For me I used to be 60kg. I just increased my caloric intake to add 15kg over a year. Now it has rather stabilised. *Caloric intake.*

That's true. How do you know if you are suffering needlessly? (Apart from the obvious cases like getting addicted to drugs) I think we will become numb to the suffering. A big motivation for me in my childhood was to escape suffering. But that actually caused even more suffering. Counterintuitively. So the best way to minimise suffering might be to embrace it while you suffer. ?

Most people who report and "waste days" on the matter are content creators and citizen journalists. They might not be paid huge amounts of money but that's like their job. Then there are some people who are simply curious to know about the Truth of the matter. These are people who simply read those content made by journalists and creators. You don't need to waste a lot of time for this. Biden running in 2024 is not helping the matter at all.

@undeather Infact they are very intolerant now. Note that Romania has a bad reputation of a country of human traffickers. That's one of the reasons why Tate choose Romania in the first place. DIICOT (FBI of Romania) began cracking down on them recently. Not convicting the Tates will only harden the bad reputation of the country of human traffickers. Edit: Just to clarify, they are dropping the charges on minors so that they could charge him again in a seperate set of charges. It is expected, although not confirmed. The crux is that he is being investigated on it on minor trafficking and money laundering and influencing statements. The influencing statements part happened while he was in prison as he instructed the war room members to persuade the girls to make videos in support of him after they were transported to Dubai.

I do not have much interest in posting about Tate, but it's delusional that some people still think he is innocent. It's werid since I know exactly what Tate has been doing right from late 2020. I have been following both the brothers and what they were doing in real time. All I has to do was to read the charges to know that they are totally fucked. Yes, for normal trafficking it's 10 years. For Tate it's "trafficking in continued from" which means the brothers are looking at 13 years just for the human trafficking charges. Then there are charges for organising criminal gang in 2021 and rape charges on top of that. To make everything worse a second set of charges are incoming which means Tate could be immediately imprisoned exactly like before and the whole process would continue. 3 months prisons+ 3 month house arrest followed by judicial control. The new charges are expected to be on trafficking of minors. Yeah it's bad. If I was him I would get the fuck out of Romania by any means.
