I knew you would say this as if it makes China less of a communist. You are talking about the Communist shit hole in the 70s that mastered the art of capitalism. See that is what evolution is about. That is what learning is about. Capitalism and communism are not mutually exclusive. What you see in China is the communist regime co-opting capitalism which is not antithetical to communism at all. This is exactly what Marx said communism should be. You have to get the facts right here. But they were under heavy international sanctions. Where are they going to get the stuff to rebuild when you have threatened every country in the world from trading with them?? Like seriously. You can clearly see how Vietnam was crushed under sanctions and grew once they were lifted. These are the facts. The thing is when marxist theory succeeds, you would simply call it capitalism, even though that doesn't violate Marxist theory at all. Chinese capitalism is the proper Communism. You cannot even own land in China and that makes them capitalist? Proper capitalism needs complete ownership. You need to get your basic facts right. -

@Leo Gura This thread and your blog is about North Korea. Maybe you should stick to that. North Korea backed by USSR was much better industrialized and developed than the US backed South, before it got bombed to rubbles. Maybe that should tell you something. My point is the US interfered with them before they could improve themselves. It is not like US and it's allies were perfect in any way. Guess what? Shit improves over time. Unless they get bombed & sanctioned of course. I even gave you an example of how the South was even more broken than the North before the war. Now will you acknowledge that? nnaah. If your house got bombed due to US interference, then that will surely affect your development for sure. We are taking about bombings here. Not mere casual poking interference. China pulling 800 million people out of poverty in a span of 4 decades is not successful enough for you? And China is soon going to outsmart the US in almost everything, except bombing and killing. Wait and watch. And it is not like I love communism. But you need to put things in context. If authoritarian communist regime is more successful, then you should be able to accept that. I know what you are going to say, that there is more capitalism in China. And that is fine, it does not take away their communism. These things can co-exist, and Marx even said that Communism can exist only after Capitalism. China is perfectly headed in that direction. -
Started a thread on this blog: https://www.actualized.org/insights/north-vs-south-korea The comparison is thrown out of context most of the times. Let me know what you think!

What if they are bombed too? -
@zazen Damn! What a poignant read.

Not necessary, but inevitable by the way the world is structured. When it's your stuff being stolen people throw tantrums and when you get to benefit from stolen stuff you are happy. This is how it goes all the way.

Decaf coffee is defeating the purpose if coffee 😌

Publishing the video of sinwar dying was a big mistake IMO. People are making him a martyr. No matter whatever bloody terrorists acts he did, the fact that Israelis did 10x more, will make him a heroic figure for centuries to come. https://x.com/Jackiew80333500/status/1847179971711656094

No one is innocent in the game of power & survival We kill so that we can live. We use others and let ourselves be used. There is no other way.

Yeah try interacting with people in real life or in other social media. The smartest people elsewhere are stuck in the most petty epistemological issues that it's laughable. This forum is a world apart in that sense.

I'll be cool with it either way as long as they do not resell it. Transfomative work is fine for me, including training AI. YT reaction videos come under transfomative work. The monetization is made on the *transformed* work, NOT your work. Infact the the degree of transformation is incredible with AI --- Think about AI like a glorified google search engine. Google could charge you for searching already. It's not like search automatically happens out of the blue. AI is allowing you to search through the hive mind, for a fee. It's a better search engine. We are not yet at that place where AI companies are swimming through piles of cash. It's a bubble.

You go gurl 💅 -
I can access humanity's hive mind and gain insights from it for 20$/mo. It's a steal in my opinion. Value I gain >> Value I lose In return, they could take my data. Now I know they could turn on milking mode in future. But a lot more things might happen in future that could democratise AI.

Working for free doesn't mean wage slave position. It means working for the greater good of humanity. You have built a channel while working essentially for free. It's not like you got paid for creating videos on YT compared to other stuff you could have been doing. That is what I mean too. At the end of the day, all that matters is maximising the value for humanity.
-
I wouldn't have any problems working for free given that I can survive first. So me getting paid so that I can survive is the greater good for humanity.

Valid points. I do agree that it's theft. And a few more thoughts. 1. Anyhow you need to keep the investor money flowing to fund the research & development. None of these AI companies are hardly profitable and wound not be anytime soon. Paying for creators first would almost certainly halt the development as a whole. 2. If you respected copyright law and payed for every reasearch paper, College textbooks then it would be literally impossible for most people to do research. Some of these laws are trash in my opinion. 3. As a small creator I feel like I have gotten plenty of value from AI already. So that is how the creators get "paid". And the world will get more value for a lesser price over the course of my lifetime as I create more stuff with AI. The real beneficiaries are the creators at the end of the day. 4. As far as corporatism is considered, we should acknowledge the devils and take measures to counter them with all we have got. Some open source models are flattening the competition. Maybe if we can optimise the AI enough to run on local machines such that you have full ownership over your own AI, you can fend off the corporatism.

Bro tone down reporting on everything India. There are more interesting things going on.

This is nothing close to what AI is doing and we already discussed this prior. You will ruin the Disney brand with your shitty printer. You may be effectively destroying value here. AI is taking your content and transforming it to something that cannot be tracked back to the original source. And you are not addressing the net value that AI is adding to humanity. This is the most important point in my opinion. Some theft should be allowed if it results in far greater good, which is the case here.

@Something Funny I have said this before and I will say it again. Just because there no source is provided for my arguments does not mean what I am saying is false. Providing a source for my arguments does not make it true either. You are fixated on "sauce" because you don't have a decent way to refute my claims. Period. -
Soon enough, with a little bit of compute resources, you can have the entire hive mind of humanity in your fingertips, completely offline. You can contemplate with it and talk to it about absolutely anything. Incredible. How cool is that? Imagine how fast your workflow would get. Imagine the cool things that people will make out of it. Let us say you indeed put a price tag on your IP. Now check if you are getting that moneys worth from AI. Think about this thing all over again.

Now that the international community is well aware of it, we have to wait and watch how long are they able to continue this. -

The people of Ukraine do not want to fight a losing war. This is common sense. They are saying it all over social media. They are deserting the military in record numbers. Please go study more on the situation. This is somewhat complicated how countries position their nuclear doctrine. Ask yourself why the west is not allowing Ukraine for deep strikes into Russia? Why? Because it will result in nuclear annihilation. There is more to the story, but take me on faith if you are hesitant to do the work to realize this. What else can I say? -
If we gatekeep our intellectual work, then we would not be getting AI at all. With AI, your creative potential is now 10x than without AI. At the end of the day, it is the normal folks like you and me that benefit from AI. And the general public will benefit even more from the work that we produce from AI, even though they may not use AI directly. So the benefits from having AI outweighs the benefit from not having AI, for humanity as a whole. Why would you deny humanity from having this value? I see it as a chance to influence the super hive mind, even thought we are at the initial stages. This is the easiest way to preserve your work for eternity rather than protect it with bullshit copyright laws. Anyway that is just me. I want AI to use my work to make it better, and in turn use AI to produce better work in lesser time. Upward Spiral. Most AI companies are running on investments at the moment and they are taking heavy losses to run this thing. There is no direct path to profit in sight. So it is safe to say that the common folks get way more benefit from AI tools as compared to the losses for having the AI being trained on your IP.
