  1. If one is becoming more serious about truth seeking. Is it necessary to join an ashram or monastery? I would like more time and head space for contemplating/ enlightenment work. I feel that with balancing my current job and life purpose their is little or no time for this work. Are there any alternative ways to position ones life to allow space for truth seeking?
  2. If you don't want to meditate you could try swapping the alcohol for a herbal tea and the TV for some relaxing music. Rest your eyes and allow your mind to wander, reflect on the day...your dreams, the things you want to achieve and how you can make tomorrow a better day. Don't forget to enjoy the process of working on your vision. Schedule some time to reconnect with nature, make this a priority. It's gives you time to contemplate whats important and why you're working so hard. If it's for the kids, take them with you. I can't speak from personal experience about working long hours with children. However I think these two books may be of some use to you... 1. The Miracle Morning: Hal Elrod 2. Eat that frog: Brian Tracy Hope you can use the ideas in these to claim some time back... All the best
  3. If I had to choose just one book, I think I would choose: As a man thinketh by James Allen Maybe I would consider this a viable option, it's a beautiful short book. Relating to visualization I would like to share a quote from it... "The vision that you glorify in your mind, the Ideal that you enthrone in your heart--this you will build your life by, this you will become."
  4. @Wasem Thank you for sharing this resource. I will let you know how I get on.
  5. @Joseph Maynor Thank you for sharing...I'm not sure why but I feel somewhat calmer for reading your words. Like I know, it will be alright. I'm 26 now, reflecting back would you say there is some sort of anxiety that comes at this stage where you just need to know, you have to seek answers? What advice would you give to your "addicted to knowledge in my 20's" self?
  6. Hi everyone, Does anyone else struggle with going deep into either their chosen craft or their learning? I think this might be a tendency of big picture thinking, getting a thrill from connecting the dots and wanting to see how everything fits together. To put it simply I want to learn everything! I know this is impossible and indeed so allusive, as the more I learn the more I realize I don't know. I actually think its possibly the most beautiful thing about learning, staring into the unknown. However I can never go deep into anything and it's draining both my mind and my pocket. I buy so many books on a variety of different subjects, I love reading but I can only ever seem to read a handful of pages before ordering or jumping into another book. I skip chapters, find the best pages, look up things on the internet while reading. I used to think this approach of cross referencing and learning was practical and useful. But now I'm starting to see that my behavior is not changing and therefore I'm not really learning. I'm just chasing theories and Ideas. But I can't stop.... I'm stuck in a though pattern of...If I just learned that...if I only knew this. The process seems very self absorbed. How can I break this pattern and and the same time dive deeper into the learning process? Does any one else share this problem or perhaps think this isn't even an issue? What are your learning strategies? How do you go deep into specific fields of study when you want to learn so many things? How do you prioritize your learning? How can I apply a mastery mindset to learning?
  7. @Rebec @F A B Thank you for your recommendations! These are great books. I have previously listened to them in audiobook form but I will go and buy hard copies and squeeze out some more information. Thank you so much! @Rebec Also that is a wonderful quote! I will definetly try to make more space and time to find my own answers. @Sahil Pandit My LP is: To become a master at creating beautiful objects that uplift people globally.
  8. Hi everyone, I'm am looking for some quality books or content about the topic of contribution. I am struggling to find anything that focuses specifically on this and is not just a side note to other topics. Considering contribution is a key component to happiness and fulfillment it seems like an area many people can benefit from. I have been contemplating this recently myself but I want to gain deeper knowledge through reading and explore questions such as... How does one share there work in a meaningful way? Why might my work be important to others and not just me? How can my work add value to peoples lives? How might my work benefit humanity? How can I make a deep contribution to society? Is there more to contribution than adding value? What is contribution? Looking forward to hearing your recommendations.
