  1. Dummy, what does nothing mean? The purpose of this technique is to come more into the here and now. Less "in the mind". The reason we put attention to the body and environmental objects is to move the attention away from the mind. Can you feel more present after the excercise? Or what does nothing mean? What do you expect to happen? (The yawning doesn't come up for everyone, as said above.) Kind regard, Chris
  2. @SkyPanther Right. Some schools are more precise than others. And some people are more prepared to get the message. When truth is the absolute, we can ever only approximate the truth through symbols and other communication systems (sound, language, conceptualizations). ~Chris
  3. Because it is contrary to the current paradigm of the scientific dogma.
  4. Thanks, Link now inserted.
  5. Instead of focusing on something general, you pick some specific "issue", name it, and cycle through it until you are no longer resisting it, at wich point you can easily let go of it. The questions are designed in a way to really help you handle specifics and you will find very soon that this technique indeed brings relief. Here I just googled and found this thread: Link (I'm not associated with the forum, but what they write sounds just like the benefits I had from using the technique) More than that, there are many other techniques besides the "standard technique". To really appreciate the difference, you would need to try the technique out for a period of time. Kind regards, Chris
  6. That's very wise, indeed. All of the well known "Gurus" have some kind of strategy to attract more people. In the east (see Sadhguru or The Art Of Living Foundation) and in the west alike. There is nothing bad about it at all. They share what they know and they want others to benefit from their knowledge. The marketing of "Sedona Method" (as the Releasing Technique was marketed after Lester Levenson passed away) is no exception. The basic premise of the Releasing Technique is this: You can not let go the thing you are resisting or fighting, because in order to let go, you need to pervade/permeate what is there -- and you can't pervade it while you're fighting, resisting, clinging, bypassing or running away from it. The basic technique consists of four simple questions. You can find it online. Kind regards, Chris
  7. Very good advices above, @ranzo1
  8. Of course, I understand. But it's not about "tweaking the ego", actually it's about letting go of it bit by bit. Kind regards, Chris
  9. Here a quote from Lester Levenson, you can very easily decide who is trying to fool you ;-) Kind regards, Chris
  10. No, it is a set of techniques to help the person let go of what ever it is she is clinging to or resisting. It's composed of questions that, self-inquiry, help the person in the process of releasing. It's based on the work of Lester Levenson (author of the book: KEYS TO THE ULTIMATE FREEDOM, Thoughts and Talks on Personal Transformation). Kind regards, Chris
  11. That's OK. Hopefully you did find some new clues :-) "Tele-Diagnosis" is not my approach. I like to let people look and find out for themselves. The questions I ask are only designed to let the person look. BTW. have you ever tried the Sedona Release Method? ~Chris
  12. @Aladdin Unfortunatly while you were away from the forum, this thread exploaded into full 3 pages not really connected to your original question. But you can chime in again and tell more about you. I asked you some questions here: http://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/2997-from-spiritual-awakening-to-depression/#comment-29588 Or you can open a new thread. Kind regards, Chris
  13. OK cool. If you like you can also PM me if you have any further questions. ~Chris
  14. @Dummy I hope you'll find the time to actually try out the process I shared here: http://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/2997-from-spiritual-awakening-to-depression/?page=2#comment-29719
  15. @Ant Socrates, what part of this comment below did you not understand?
  16. Yeah, you know, but in this thread we are not looking at his case. All people are on different stages. I could even imagine that even the Dalai Lama has some "pains" at times. ~Chris
  17. What is very good, is the fact that you really already spotted it. I know I have somewhere a process to handle it fully, but I can't promise it. The short version should give you some insights on the fly though. Kind regards, Chris
  18. Tell it to a kid who just broke his leg.
  19. True from my own experience and current perspective. We can't see others. We can only see their make-up. Even the word "person" is derived from latin persona originally "mask, false face," such as those of wood or clay worn by the actors in later Roman theater. We can ever only see the things people emanate, never the people themselves. (I know, this may sound counterintuitive, but at a deeper level it's obvious.) ~Chris
  20. Well, Dummy, congratulations of being aware of this. Most people who are stucked in this condition are not aware of it. One way to really approach this "beast" is to repetetivly ask yourself: 1. "How does it serve me?" 2. "What are it's consequences?" over and over again. (It's best to take a sheet of paper and write the answers down.) Face the answers :-) Be honest with yourself :-) Many of us did it, when in school and we didn't want to go there, we could play sick for some days. Then it goes on automatic, we actually forget about it but it still runs as a "background programm" to serve us. Kind regards, Chris
  21. This higher "Truth" doesn't work here.
  22. @MarkusR Hve you watched the video?
  23. Cool. Next time, when ever the internal voice comes up, acknowledge the voice without engaging in communication, so that you move on with the process without the voice. I know, it will come up again and again. You at the other hand acknowledge again and again and continue with the process. While touching the objects, try to put as much attention into the direction of the object as you can. And then, move some of your attention to the position of your feet, how you stand and so on. You can do it simultanously aswell if this is better (split some of the attention to the object and another portion to the body position). Just put your attention on the external world and body, when you are touching and rubbing, throuhout the process and don't pay too much attention to the "internal talk". Great. The yawning is not always coming up. Kind regards, Chris
  24. It is this little process here: http://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/1222-my-problem-when-doing-contemplation/#comment-12454 It will help you on many levels. Will release some of residual energies. Will help you ground in the here and now. Will raise your power of awarness. When you do this technique for some days, your mood level may raise. Just do it as described in the post I linked. If you have further questions, let me know. But it is a very simple process. Anyone can do it withough prior contact with any other technique. Let me know how it worked. But one note: it's a process you need to do, not think about intelectually. Give it a try and see the results. Kind regards, Chris
  25. Moods are a combination of emotion and attitude. With energies I mean the energy that circulates trough your energy body and this energy (prana) can be blocked (for many reasons). Sometimes moods can mass together with this energy and they seem to be present all of the time. Would you try a practise I recommend to you?
