What about doing some paid job for someone? You'll have some web-portals in South-Africa with jobs? Write that you are looking for some new experience, tell something about your interests and that you're a student. Or what it is you would like to do instead? Chris

@Spiritjunkie I wouldn't suggest the technique you present to anyone. And this premise seems not true to me: You can reliefe emotions and accumulated ("negative") energy connected to content of your traumatic incidents. The incident and the memory will not be erased, but as you reliefe the negativity connected to the incident, more content comes up until the whole incident has no power over you anymore or is lessened. That's where the old saying "the truth shall make you free" fits in. It actually works. Your proposition of "memory revisionism" to implant nice associations to the incident creates a false reality for your client. Nothing has been done to reduce the negative energy. Kind regards, Chris

@Sigma What do you mean by "egoistic"? You share to receive? It's called exchange. Why is it egoistic? Please explain.
-
You tell me @Sigma. To get some stimulation?

Hello @Neuroticon You can be multi-talented and master many fields. Don't worry about that. You need to learn to align your talents, skills and abilities with your purposes. Step back and see the big picture of all your interests. Contemplate about it. Make a list of interests that are most dear to you. Does one stick up more than the others? Self-improvement is always an improvement of something substantial that you consider part of you (or an extension of yourself). (When self is "nothingness", than there is no sense in improving it, right? So we improve and manage all the things we are creating, are connected to or surrounded by :-)) When you have a dream or a life purpose, you will know which of those parts you want to utilize, what you need to upgrade and master. You should commit to a purpose, so all your talents and abilities are focused. Then you will improve as you go. This doesn't mean that you should shut your eyes to new possibilities. You can also upgrade your dreams, goals and purposes. Spmetimes a new door opens and changes a whole lot of our previous outlook. Just don't lose yourself in too many tasks at one given time. Master the pieces one at a time. That's the way masterpieces are born. ;-) Chris

@Sigma Just one question: do you actually sometimes feel like wanting to share something with the people you're interacting with? For now you speak only about what you get (from books etc.) that people can't give you. What about you putting something out, giving them something? Socializing and interaction with people is a two-way-reciprocity... Chris

@Gerhard, My perspective is simple: Anytime you use drugs, you actually sign away your own power. You say, I'm not strong enough to produce the energy I need to accomplish my tasks, duties, dreams - what ever drives you. Inspect you thoughts. Why do you think you need a power supply from the outside? Maybe what you really lack is some form of detoxification and some body excersize? (See, I don't know your circumstances, that's why I can not really tell.) Chris

@Sigma, Sounds like you transcended the mainstream. The hardest task may be to forgive them that they'll confuse transcendence with outsiderness. There is absolutly nothing wrong with the choice not to engage in closed-mindedness. What helps is understanding and appreciation of the fact, that all people are somewhere on the spiritual development curve. All have the same capacity to be more than meets the eye. But some don't know anymore how to move up again, some even forgot that there actually is UP. But the capacity remains the same. It can be fun to help them rekindle their inner spark. And socialize with like-minded people. There are more and more popping up at this time. Chris

@lucasgloves Can you tell us something about what happened just before this DP was triggered? Can you recollect the time just before it happened? Do you know what triggered this? (any drugs, extensive yoga, meditation, breathing techniques, spiritual ascension experience) Also: have you any unpleasant feelings going along with the phenomena/experience of DP? If it is an up/down experience, can you tell what it is that causes it to go up? Have you spotted any activity that seems to improve your situation? Do you feel depersonalized like "who the fuck am I?" or is it rather a form of detachment, like "how can I connect to people and have a good time being who I am?" Kind regards, Chris

There is no stopping of all the suffering from outside for others. Every single individual needs to go this road for himself. The best you can do is promoting values and some of the ways you find useful. Even if you do one-on-one coaching or guidence for someone else, the person in front of you has to do the work himself. I know that in our society many people look out for the messiah who will come down from a clowd and do or say the right things and save us all. That just won't happen. All individuals are on some level of their spiritual rise (or fall). The more advanced individuals will include others into their vision of well-being. Will promote responsibility. Will promote self-education, alertness. I actually can read your suffering @William32, but isn't it you expect too much from others? You're actually blaming others for not serving your expectations. When was the last time you helped someone? Or tried to? Did you fail? Did you succeed? Or, have you ever stopped others from helping you? When was that? Who was involved? Why? Leo is doing the right thing according to his visions from what I can see. Have you worked out for yourself what your visions, goals and dreams are? Have you included others and their well-being into your considerations about a perfect (or at least upgraded) future? Chris

This is really one of the classic books about self realization out there. I also liked the Self-Analysis questions part of the book. It has opened up some key areas of my existence to look more deeply into. Chris

Oh, I forgot to put a link to the Rub & Yawn process above. Now placed the link in-text, and here: http://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/1222-my-problem-when-doing-contemplation/#comment-12454

Hello @seeker11, there is no danger particularly with processing emotions. All emotions that hang up, do so, because we resist fully experiencing them. There are many processes you could use to process hung up moods and emotions. There is the Sedona Method. Stress release techniques. Rub & Yawn I wrote about here, which also can help to heighten your general mood level. In working with emotions, it is best to use paper and write them down. Write down the emotion you are trying to inspect and release. Notice, that we mostly concentrate on negative emotions, when we do this kind of work. This is a "get rid of" technique. It's important, but what you should do to complement your work, is to also find the opposite positive expression of the mood/emotion. For example, if you are working on ANGER, what is (for you) the opposite expression of the emotion. It may be friendliness for some, cheerfulness for others. Something else for you. But you should write down the emotion you're working on and also the opposite positive expression of it. A simple process I am working on troublesome emotions is this: A. "What part of { this emotion } am I willing to experience?" B. "What part of { this emotion } would I rather not experience?" repetetivly A, B, A, B to a good result. Then the opposite positive expression. I advice you to write ALL your answers on paper. It takes a bit longer, but then you process more thorougly. If you have any questions, just let me know. Chris

I see. The above process may help you with that. Don't feel pressured. Just raise your awarness for your body and your surroundings. The good thing about the above process is: you do it in a baby-step manner. Just feel you body, some of your surroundings and than back and forth. There is no need to force it. Just do it for the fun of it. :-)- 20 replies

@Neo two suggestions to reduce your concerns about the "mind chatter": 1) when meditating, don't resist the stream of thoughts. Let them pass. Gently remind yourself that you are about to practice mindfulness. This means, looking at the "things" as they are without resisting or clinging to them. You need to realize that this is your current scenario: lots of thoughts coming up. Lots of stuff that you avoid looking at and therefore are resisting. Let them pass and look at them as they're coming up. 2) You could try a simple technique before meditation. This technique can be also done for an extended time period as a "stand-alone" technique. Here is the process: 0. Decide that you want to release some accumulated resistance Rub your body with your hands: your arms, your chest and your legs for about 10 seconds. Do it conciously. Be aware of the fact that YOU are rubbing your body in the Here and Now. Feel both sides: your hands touching and rubbing the body part and the feeling at the body part. Find an object in the room you could touch (may be a desk, the door, a wall etc.). And then go over and touch it for at least 5 seconds. It's best to touch and hold it until you are fully experiencing the object in the Here and Now. Be also aware of your body position, the haviness/lightness of your body, how your feets touch the floor, the position of your arms relativly to the other parts of your body. repeat Steps 1 & 2 repetitivly until you feel more present in the Here and Now. This will be accompanied with more aliveness and a refreshed feeling. This will "break through" a lot of "mind-stuff", "Hucha", "heavy residues of energy" or however you may call it. While doing this process, don't think too much. Whenever you start your "thinking diarrhea", gently acknowledge this fact to you and conciously return to the main process (1&2, 1&2 etc.) Caution: lots of tiredness can come up while going through the process. Don't stop now. Just go through it. You can have sudden feelings comming up, lots of imagery and projections streaming through your mind etc. Also you may yawn a lot (that's why this little procedure is also called Rub and Yawn). It depends on the level of resistance you're sitting in. The more resistance, the more things you'll be going through. Don't give up too early. This is a DO-IT process, not a "think about" theory. Do it for at least 10-15 minutes a day. Never stop when you are still being "dopy", "woozy" or "sitting" in something. Always end up at a winning moment, when you feel more here and more alive. Doing this process for some days in a row can greatly enhance your perceptions. It can bring you back from an "alternate reality of mind projections" into the actuality of the here and now. Your thinking process will be more light and focused. Don't underestimate the power of this simple process by the easiness of its instructions. This little process can also be done anytime you feel triggered and "out of the here and now" (when you start projecting negativity into the environment instead of aligning your presence with the actuality of the moment). In case you give it a try, let me know the results. Also note: if you've done any Sedona Methode, there is an rule of thumb there: "Get rid of the moods/emotions/resistance, and the thoughts connected to it will fall away aswell". Don't be concerned with "thoughts" too much. Work instead on improving your general mood level. Chris- 20 replies

Leo has lots of insight and shares it with his fellow men. Very enlightened move. The vortex he creates surely will help him to peel away some deeper layers of non-enlightendedness. More power to him. -
I will tell you something very interesting (but will keep the age of my body for myself :-) ). My coach is 80 years old. Another one just turned 70. And I can assure you, for them the age has no meaning at all. Both of those gentlemen are very young at heart and have a great sense of humor and are very aware about the life around them (otherwise I doubt I would ask them to be my coaches :-P) Chris

I enjoyed this book back in 2005 or 2006 and have for a long time used "The Pages" (the main technique in the book) daily. It's very useful and practical. Also good for people who begin their spiritual actualization, as the proposed technique helps the processee to get a distance to his thought-process. Consequently a new awarness and insight grows in the individual about all the things related to his existence. I also liked the anectodes and quotations the author used thrughout the book. It was very inspiration for me at that time. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a creative career or who aspires to be an artist or already IS an artist and needs a simple process to recover/strenghten his creative "mojo". The above is only a glimpse on the content of the book. It's full of the "good stuff" and communicated at a very comprehensive level (no previous involvement in anything spiritual or motivational needed). Chris

Isle of View replied to Ella90's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Hello @Ella90, very good question, I will try to give my perspective on enlightment and hope this is of some use for you, I've listened to some of Leo's videos about enlightement and I remember in one of them, he spoke about a theoretical plateau or level of enlightment he didn't want to theoretize about, because it's out of reach for us in our current spiritual development (he put it in his words, I'd need to look for the video to quote him correctly.) You see, he is wise enough to not speculate about things that are beyond comprehension. Even if we on our spiritual path encounter times where we dwell in higher levels of counciousness, it's not easy to convey the experience, the insight we've gathered etc. And encounters of this hightened spiritual awarness (peak experiences) are open to all of us, also to people who are just starting on their journey or even triggered by some event, circumstances, a book they read or a lecture they attend. On a more practical level (which is deeper than the one previously mentioned), we have a realm of "flow" or "being in the zone". With many spiritual practices we can bring us up to a level where we experience "flow" and do so more often. But you see, this "being in the zone" is not only being experienced by spiritual thruth seekers. Even in sports it is being mentioned and you can read about this phenomenon elsewhere. So what does Enlightenment represent to you? See, we have many traditions. Many definitions. Many representations and "fancy" descriptions of what this state is all about. Some compare it to their tradition, others to their "belief system" and so on It sometimes becomes so bizzare that it's hard to stomach, as people wonder about a word, get confused and immobile even. They don't strive for their aim anymore, because they're literally "lost in translation(s)". I'll admit, the term Enlightenment itself is prone to change. It will change depending on what book you read, whom do you listen to and even if you followed an accomplished Master of a particular School or practice, he will give you many scraps of insight, but never the whole picture. Because, it is on you to find the ultimate truth, the truth where words just can't do any justice. Whereas the Websters Dictionary gives a shaby definition for Enlightenment, it gives a good one for its adjective form, enlightened: This is only meant as a starting point. Those are highly practical definitions. I would, from my own perspective, also say that whatever we do in our lives, we should strive to upgrade our level through "enlightments". We can be good and "in flow" in one area of our life but sloppy or "immobile" in others. We should inspect those areas, as only inspection, putting our awarness on some-thing, will alow for enlightenment in this area to take place. The more areas we master and enlighten the more we grow as a whole, integrated being. Therefore it is important to know what we are good in and honor and appreciate those areas and at the same time also looking for and upgrading the weak-points. (I don't suggest to try to get rid of the weak-points only, as it will firmly destabilize your already mastered areas - acknowledge the areas you're good in.) Can someone see if another is actually enlightened? I am not sure about it, because there are so many different expactations connected to it. Also it is hard to comprehend something which is higher advanced then our current paradigm or mindset. But definitely we can see if we can learn something new, gather a new point to view from and expand our insights and knowledge. Enlightenment is also to a large degree subjective -- and on the other hand, as mentioned before, bound to the definition or tradition you're measuring from. And also I think, even an enlightened being can have a bad day as long as he is alive and carries a body around with him :-D What is of interest, though, for me, is if people are striving for positive transformation, not only for themselves but also for the world in general. Those are the people worth having for companions if you yourself are looking for greater spiritual andvancements. I tell you outright, I'd rather be alone in a cave in the Himalayas than surrounded by ignorant people not worth aligning with. Fortuanatly more and more people are waking up and striving for spiritual development. It's really refreshing. Kind regards, Christian P.S. Please bear with my english. It's my second language and I literally learned it over the internet. I try my best, but my skills in using this language are still limited.
