  1. I would highly recommed to make some retreat for beginners. For a few days will suffice. Or subscribe in your local area for entry lessons. This will prevent you from making beginner mistakes. It's really the best option. Once you have the basics in, you can work at home. ~ Chris
  2. It often happens, that we spot the fact that we are using one identity unwittingly, we immediately stop it. This doesn't make it vanish, as to do it, we need to inspect and become aware of its entire scope. But no worries. I would love that. I'll speak with my coach and let you know. It's not something I came up with myself, but a friend of my coach. Kind regards, Chris
  3. BTW, yes. Sometimes they even have a fight with each other. This are conflicting identities with conflicting beliefs. One identity, say "vegan", says: "I'm gonna eat no animals anymore." Another identity, say "cool dude" want's to appear cool and all of the sudden you visit your family and there is only non-vegan food on the table. But there is the urge to be cool. Oups... Therefore it's very good to resolve the conflicting beliefs. The more transparent the identities become, the better they will suit your overall purpose line. As I said, some of them have been adopted, so they are mostly contradicting with your views on life. ~ Chris
  4. Cool. I'm glad to hear that. Now you can work on them. Maybe I will share an indepth process how this is done in an optimum manner. What's important, when you're not satisfied with one of your "identities", describe exactly what it is that you do not like, and move it from there (in your imagination) to your most positive manner this identity should be, appear and behave. Use paper! Kind regards, Chris
  5. You may try.
  6. Oh, there is an I although there is no Self? Quite interesting.
  7. Of course, once deprived from the Self... there is no interest in anything anymore, I guess.
  8. OK, let's see what a belief is: So what is it good for? Why promoting that there is no Self?
  9. Interesting stance. Pretty boring though. (From my perspective, no offense.) Can you tell me some benefits of this belief? Or some practical uses...
  10. So, does it inply there is no Self?
  11. OK, the question was, I specify: Who has the position (concept), that observation can happen, but not by you? You get the question?
  12. Good one!
  13. So, who has this position?
  14. Yes, I wrote about here a little bit: http://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/1801-is-there-such-a-thing-as-an-empath-i-think-im-one-just-realising-it/#comment-17005 ~ Chris
  15. Thank you. Let me know when you want some extra advice or want comment or share something. Here or over PM. Kind regards, Chris
  16. Some benefits of Enlightenment: you feel complete, there is no lack, you're lacking no-thing it's not that you have no goals or desires, but those are not comming from a sense of lack, and as you are already complete and "nourished", you do not clinge to the outcome of your doings. you follow your basic nature, you know your core-signature and know if you deviate from your center. This enables you to come back home whenever you want. as you are already nourished, you do not accumulate stuff that is of no importance to your unique nature. The easiest way to enlightenment is to acknowledge the fact that you do not lack anything. Everything is already perfect. All the imprefections are mere labels on top of your experience. See through the illusions you projected and/or have agreed upon. When your mindfulness is such that you no longer have any urge to give meaning to stuff, pull-in experiences from the past or fears about the future and project them on top of what is there, you're home. Once there, you will have your point of reference, your unique signature. Don't try to reach enlightenment from a lack of enlightenment. Theorethically speaking, you're always enlightened, or, more precisly, your basic nature is always there. The clouds of imperfections are darkening your light. Therefore, before you reach your light for the first time, you work from the bottom to top, knock-knock, you knock on the door. Once there, you have a new outlook, an enlightened view on your existence and can now pervade differently. You will still have "work to do" to maintain your new found, centered "position". This will be your journey of enlightenment, as your first enlightenment was only a glimpse at how beautiful existence actually is. Bon voyage! Never beat your self up for not being enlightened. You are. If only you stop producing the lack of it. As an anecdote: the snake came to Eve in the Paradise and said she should eat from the tree of which God said, if they eat from it, they would die. But the snake told Eve, that if she eats from it, she would be able, like God, to differentiate Good and Evil (labels). They eat from it, and ever since suffered from the use of labels. They've been already perfect, perfect life. The lack was promoted by the snake and Eve and later Adam did buy it. They were told that God is better than them and wants to prevent them from being as potent as He is. Well, that makes for a beautiful lack, doesn't it? Don't buy it. If you've found your nature (which is connected to all there is), there is no lack anymore. You may want to upgrade your surroundings, but you won't clinge to it as if your existence and bliss would depend on it. The whole existence becomes a part of you and you a part of the whole existence, abundance all around and perfection in all there is. No lack. Nothing is not-done. Snakes that come your way are gently handled. You know where you go if you go. Nothing is missing. Your longing for others to see how you see arises. You learn that they have their own, unique signature and that they will approach exisistence in their own fashion. And also this is perfectly fine, as it only extends the infinity of all there is. You will still play. You will still entangle yourself with games. But it will be from a different perspective. And you will know how to come back home. ~ Chris
  17. I understand that, but while it is true, your current attitude towards this circumstance may cause you yourself to add some of your own "juice" to the mix. Just work on releasing all of it (the above processes actually helped me a lot), learn to differentiate your own emotions from those from others (and I know it's not as easy as it sounds, but you'll get there) and train on your deliberate focus.
  18. There is no need to remember, really, if you fully understand the difference of the wording of my phrase as compared to yours.
  19. Mine is defined from the perspective of now. You are neglecting it now, independently of what you decided or agreed upon in "the past".
  20. Another option would be, you utilize your insights to create and have and share nice experiences.
  21. @asgard94 I encourage you to see this video: Science is "only" another discipline to approach the existence. Eventually science re-integrates counciousness as a component of the All. Wake up!
  22. Yes there is something like being an Empath. To some degree we all have this capacity, but our current "western" society is too much oriented on the physicality of the existence and our psychic powers are being neglected all to often. First check the definitions of the word empathy itself: What I would recommend to you, is to learn to shift your focus. Be aware of what you put your attention on and learn to deliberately move it to different things. It's like changing the focus of your eyes. As an example, when you are in the mountains and you want to take a picture, you look through the lens and you can decide what you will focus on when you shoot the picture. It's similar here. You can decide if you will focus on emotions or the physical apperance of the person in front of you. There are also some exercises you can do to learn to move your attention/focus deliberately, One of them is very simple, just go some place and move your attention to an object, say, a tree. Acknowledge it and move to a different object. Be fully aware that YOU are selecting where your focus will go to, how long it will stay there and that it is YOU who selects the next object. Do it until you feel better. I've also written up another simple process you can use at home. It may help you to deal with all the accumulated energies: http://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/1222-my-problem-when-doing-contemplation/#comment-12454 I am myself highly empathetic, but I see it as a blessing rather then a curse. But it took me a while before I could fully accustom to and integrate the "powers" and to some degree it is an ongoing process. You should appreciate them. And work on your focus, and aswell learn methods to discharge all the accumulated energies. In my case, I was highly psychic and empathetic in my younger years, but then in the course of my life it went dornant (because "such things don't exist", you know) until when I started my spiritual journey and it, all at once, slapped in my face. Hard. It took me some years to learn to fully appreciate it and to learn to deliberatly switch my focus at will. With the best wishes, Chris
  23. @7thLetter How does being an introvert serve you? or How does making the distincion of introvert/extrovert serve you? How would you define an extroverted person, and why does it inply that he couldn't be a thinker or need his alone-time from time to time? What would you need to face if you were more extroverted? Visualise your optimum ratio of introversion/extroversion which would suit your purpose line and visualise how you would be, behave, commune with others and your surroundings, your general environment et al. I don't ask you to answer those questions right here, but to contemplate/work on them for a while. ~ Chris
  24. Haven't seen Leo's last video yet, but basically the statement is true, I will give my perspective on that: let's say, you have a specific kind of identity you operate from. This identity has been defined by you, by your environment, your encounters in life, education and so on. And this identity has a set of beliefs, limiting and conducive aswell. It has characteristics, behaviour patterns, defense mechanisms, a certain way of approaching life through attitudes and emotions. Well, that's in itself is not the big surprise. That's just the way it looks for the most people. But consider this: we have through the course of our life adopted many, many "identities", we could call them "roles" or "suites" or "costumes" also, but I prefere to call them identities. Just imagine the difference in the way you speak to people at your workplace, your family, your friends, friends you meet from your teenage years. When your true Self is the actual Self pulling the strings of your "puppet/identity" and also changes the "identity" depending on the circumstances, on a lower level of awarness the identities previously set can begin to run on automatic, Imagine what can happen, when you talk to your family members in the same way as you talk to your friends. Scarry, right? Or you have a meeting with a customer and talk to him as if he was your teacher. Therefore it's important to 1) work on our overall presence and awarness in the present moment where we are more councious about where we are and what the play is that we are working in right now, 2) become councious (again) about the different identities we created or have been created as, bring all of it into awarness so we can change it. Some identities we may also want to "cancel" (like arrogant snob, hater, tv-watcher... note, all of them have characteristics to it that don't apply when you are in a different play, say at work). Other identities you may want to change, adjust or "upgrade". Just like a piece of software you would reprogramm. As programmer you need to know exactly what the "object" should do, which functions the "object" has to fullfill, what properties it should have and what outcomes it is supposed to create or generate. You would remove all the "bugs" (limiting pieces of the programm) if they show up in a test-run and you would continuosly, from time to time, upgrade the software to meet the desired purpose. Make no mistake. We don't just have one identity. We have many roles we play and they are, very different from each other. The only common thing they share is that you, the programmer, have (hopefully counciously) set them up. They are your make-up to play the game you're involved in. And another thing they have in common is that you are using them. There is nothing much needed to become aware of the different identities you wear and how they not always suite the situation or project you want to pursue. Some are very detrimental to your visions and goals, indeed. As an example, if you want to be successful in life, but your truth-seeker-identity has contradictory beliefs or definitions about things like ego, selflessness, humility, and many other things, you will have many dificulties to manifest your visions into your existence. Therefore it is important to examine or inspect the different identities you use and how they apply to your main purpose line in life. How to do it? Pay attention to them. See how you switch, seemingly unaware, from one identity to another and how the entire outlook in a situation changes. Some identities work in one part or segment of your life but they don't in others. If you make sports for example, you may have a very disciplined identity but in school you are a lazy *head. You can become aware of them and they will become more transparent to you. Then you can upgrade or cancel them. As your awarness grows you will be more able to use them counciously instead of them popping up and running (or ruining) your day. What's important to know here is, that YOU are the being who is adopting/using those identities to play. You say what characteristics it has to have, how it communes with others, how it interacts, how it talks, moves, discipline. Sometimes it is good to use paper if you work on one of those "identities". Treat them as "Characters" in a video game where you can choose their looks, powers, weapons, charms and stuff like that. And never forget that you are the Gamer, not the Character. (OK, this is an analogy, but it is a good one as you are really operating in this world through different identities.) Hope this is of some relevance to you. ~ Chris
