I don't, what you're saying is like DMT I think. DMT is like "I became one with everything" or "everything was me" etc. I'm quite familiar with that type of trip. There wasn't any me to even be everything I mean. I didn't exist anymore. I wasn't separate from everything and I wasn't everything either. I wasn't there at all. Reality remained. I didn't. I'm not talking about that DMT trippy stuff or trying to be obscure with words to sound smart. It was like sights saw themselves. Moreso. Very much more like that. There was zero idea of such a thing as a me... It lasted a brief minute or two. -

It wasn't like that, srs. It was CLOSER to saying in the example that the beach was seeing itself. Closer to that. But not even that, because the seen beach was literally the thing that it was. Rather than a beach which is seen (even by itself) and results in the sight of a beach. There was absolutely no beach or seeing, just the 'seen beach' itself. That alone like how light IS lit. I've read similar on some 5-MeO retreat reports on Erowid. When people say they stopped existing, or things like that. I don't know... Ego death to me seems like usual DMT breakthrough etc. The difference in that being that on DMT breakthroughs there is still an idea of a self. Usually for example, you become "one" with everything. Like the hippy "all is one" meme. It's more like ego replacement or ego merging. -

Oh major cope, dude... Come on... You can definitely make the argument, like you could say you're less conscious or awake when blackout drunk. But at the end of the day anything but the full monty is more appearing of ideas and such. -

BULLSHIT, dude. BULLSHIT. Unless someone is able to explain why and how the world continued to appear yet I stopped existing. How did that happen? -
RMQualtrough replied to RMQualtrough's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Nilsi like "what lights up light?". Light IS what it IS. Light is the exact thing that it is. So the question is invalid. There isn't anything lighting light. Light is what it IS. Nothing is redding redness. Redness is what it IS. Asking what observes it or what makes it etc is an invalid question. Exactly the same. Because like how light IS light. Redness (the qualia) IS redness. -

If you did disappear, then you couldn't believe anymore that it's all there is. So what would you then tell people, if that happened? If like how the Sun is illuminated you stopped existing but the beach continued to appear BY ITSELF. WITHOUT you. Exactly like how the Sun is illuminated without an external light, since luminosity IS what it is by ITSELF, the beach continued to shine bright and pristine clear... With no I or you at all. Gone. Vanished. What then? -
RMQualtrough replied to RMQualtrough's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
So what would you do if it did? What would you tell people then? Yes. That's right, exactly. But it is bad for us to write it that way because it makes it sound like seeing is some entity other than the beach, which is merged with the beach or part of the beach. If we write it that way when the seen beach IS the very exact thing it is, it does imply multiple things... And people reading it will think of two things being there and try to mentally merge them. But yes exactly. -

You ever taken the weird drugs? You know how if you have music on, it sort of becomes surround sound because you stop existing in relation to it? Imagine if visual sights were the same. If any visual item seems to be in front of you, then it's not that. See what happens if you get "surround sound" vision, in the same way as music during a trip, so it's everywhere, and not anywhere which can be pinpointed. If the vision can't seem to potentially be behind you in spatial relation, it still seems in front. E.g. your consciousness here, it in front there. If it does somehow seem behind that's fucked up I don't know how you did that LOL but not that either. Just if you try to make it seem that way it's a good test to see if it's seeming to be in front still. It needs to appear out there itself alone. Then the here won't exist anymore. And nor will the concept of a there as there's no here to be in relation to. Less complicated than it's worded. Just like surround sound happens everywhere and nowhere, because it's happening yet any point you try to find, it's not located there. It's not actually more complex than that. -
RMQualtrough replied to RMQualtrough's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
So I did in fact explain it shittily... Hm... I don't mean that the beach stops and goes back to some infinity. I mean it continues appearing precisely as you see it, only you stop existing in the scenario. "What lights up the Sun?". It's shit wording because it implies right away that there is some luminous thing that exists which must light up the Sun. But the Sun is itself lit. I mean, the appearance of the beach is completely alone already. There's not such a thing as a you or a consciousness. Asking what is conscious of the beach or saying the beach is on some "screen" of awareness, etc, is the same as asking what lights up the Sun. There IS nothing lighting the Sun, the Sun is luminous as it is, alone. Unless you destroy the sikk metaphor by being too literal with it. -
RMQualtrough replied to RMQualtrough's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@isabel Rupert Spira said this which is funny because he likes the idea of God. But do you see how the Sun doesn't need to be illuminated? It is illuminated by default. Lumimosity is the very thing that it is. It stands there ALONE illuminated. Red, sound, all manner of things, are like that. Exactly like that. They don't need to be seen. Because "seen" is the very thing it is. The red and the seeing of red are literally one, so much so that you can't even write that sentence without it being confusing. Redness is literally the thing that is. Like the Sun's luminosity. No observer needed. There is NEVER an observer. Red as you see it now is already unobserved. It is NEVER observed by any person or God or ANYTHING. Redness stands completely alone like the Sun. Not even consciousness becoming "one" with it, no two things to merge. Sun type total isolation. Redness is what is, rather than red + an observer of red. Rather than red + you/God. Redness is the very thing it is. -
RMQualtrough replied to RMQualtrough's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Yeah it continues to exist with no seer. That's legit what I mean. So look at red right now. That's exactly how it looks and would continue to be if you stopped existing right this very moment. If you stopped existing while looking at it, it would continue to appear exactly the same. Nothing would change whatsoever. The qualia would continue to be there, exactly precisely the same, unchanged. But you wouldn't be... Then you come back. Through this entire period, before you stopped existing, WHILE you weren't existing, and after you start existing again, the red continues standing there exactly as it is, identical, throughout. You know how you're used to colors changing and sounds coming and going etc? But existence continues when a sound or color stops appearing. So if red changes to blue, existence is still there. Now imagine you went away exactly in the way red or blue might go away, yet existence continues. That can happen. -
RMQualtrough replied to RMQualtrough's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
It doesn't. That's what I mean exactly: The world DOESN'T disappear when the person does. That is why it is surprising and impossible. The qualia itself, the subjective "experience", DOESN'T stop existing. It is still there appearing but in absence of you. I don't mean someone else sees it, or that it continues to exist as atoms or light frequencies. I mean the qualia itself, say red, the qualia itself continues to exist in your complete absence. -

Explain what I meant in the OP, then I will see if I still can't explain anything for shit. Legit just tell me what I meant/what you interpret the post as saying. -

Reality is whatever appears. Which can be a world, or the darkness of your eyelids, or the makebelieve idea that there's a you which even exists at all... When eyes are closed, reality is blackness. And perhaps sensations of touch like the above dude who will slap you. There's nothing to reality but what appears. And there is no you to whom it appears. The idea of a you appears, and does so to nobody, nothing, and nowhere. Seriously...... And your question is a lot to do with the idea of the fictional you or God character and how it interacts with the world and other people. It's easy when you stop believing in myths like the existence of a God or I entity... See if you believe in made up stuff like God or self or consciousness, you think it is necessary for that to be present in order for reality/a world to appear. So you think that anything the "you" entity is not seeing must not be there. But there is no you entity, and the stuff appears anyway. So there's no issue about many appearances. -

"Neo-advaita" is correct, the "trap" is the fact that people speak that way because they're so far up their own ass they don't care if anyone understands them, they just want to sound "deep". It's nothing to do with whether or not it's correct. E.g. right now if I was an obnoxious narcissist LOSER I'd say "there is nobody to fall into a neo advaita trap." That is the "trap". It's the term for narcissist twats like Nahm who speak purposefully in ways to bamboozle others so they can feel smarter than you. -

I'm legitimately completely void of the need for meaning. I've never thought about meaning or needed it. That's probably helpful. I am very much content with my ultimately meaningless life right now. I'm excited about getting a new shower fitted. I want one of those digital ones with a remote so I can turn it on to the temp I want before I step in there. Why would I blow my brains out? I'm excited for my cool new shower. And I'll get ice cream later today. -
RMQualtrough replied to Someone here's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
It's all a massive cope. I do feel confident that there isn't anywhere to go. And if you knew the truth you'd know there isn't actually a you being to know that truth at all... And it follows then that it doesn't really matter. As there isn't ever anyone knowing anything OR not knowing anything anyway, as there isn't anyone full stop. -

Leo himself only does 300 trips because he's like Adam from PsychedSubstance. He gets "high" on these drugs and then exactly like Adam tries to convince himself that jerking it in the bathtub while watching porn is some sort of serious breakthrough experience rather than addict behaviors. If he vaped it proper like at toad ceremonies which he could afford to attend, then 300 masturbation trips wouldn't be necessary. -
RMQualtrough replied to Scholar's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I'm not sure, it might be one of those loaded concepts like "consciousness" where by using the term you immediately change what it is... Like seen objects which appear in spite of not being seen by anyone or anything at all. The seen object being the very thing that it is, standalone. Maybe similarly knowledge is like that, where the "knowing" is the very thing that so-called knowledge is, as opposed to it being something known BY God or You or Brahman, or whatever other mythological creature. E.g. the knowing of X is the actual appearance itself, it is the exact thing that is, alone, like how the redness of red is the very appearance itself. Not X known by Y or red seen by Z. -
Where can I find a community that is not just 95% spiritual/religious stories and alleged experiences? Conversations should be stimulating centered round this kind of topic but without walls of religious copers and weird ego/afterlife beliefs. I thought maybe older men, say 50+, on similar communities on Reddit etc. Probably would be good. Is it annoying that there isn't anything to discuss? I'm sure it is. Maybe that's why there aren't any such communities, and why monks don't bother talking. There's nothing to say but the same identical rehashes........

Probably because your mind doesn't want to believe in made up fabricated bullshit like God. Thank "God"... Imagine a person taking the most pristine pane of glass that is reality (turn off your damn screen. See how pristine and unmuddied reality around you is) and forcing contaminants into it. Oh here's this pristine world but there's also God. Oh here's this pristine world but there's also this character me/God intermingled with it. Oh here's this world but it's made OF this character or w.e. Not that it can be contaminated because all of these bullshit completely false delusional drug-addled beliefs are equally appearing. EQUALLY a part of the pristine pane of glass as the clear blue sky which doesn't itself have notions of weird "consciousness" figures in it, or making it, etc... So it may be the human ego interpretation of it. But for sure the more baggage you throw out the more clear it seems. You are surely in a better spot than 90% of alleged gurus. -
RMQualtrough replied to r0ckyreed's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
When you say X or Y never actually happens etc, why do you say that? Is this one of those things where people draw the line of "reality" at different polarities? It seems that in fact the moment of total unreality is the exact very moment of the most absolute UNCLOUDED pristine reality there ever is. Believing there is a self character and all of those things, and then any tiny notion or concept of such a thing just outright vanishing. For real. Is sort of like when you have anxious thoughts and kinda get lost in your head then something snaps out of it. And for a moment everything seems so pristine as the crazed thoughts stop.
