  1. I am pretty sure that when Leo discusses Solipsism, and "no other minds", this is entirely related to the actuality of "now". Which is to say, you don't even know you existed a second ago. And in fact you didn't - BECAUSE one second ago is not real, only "now" is absolutely real. "Now" is eternity. All possible moments are contained within it at once. As such, the you of 5 seconds ago is as equally real and simultaneous to now as the experience had by "another person". If you imagine, humans can only understand time linearly, so as a thought experiment imagine that when you die you immediately start the life of another creature, and experience every single life to ever exist one after another. But now understand that there is no "one after another" or past and future. Only now. And imagine the same exact scenario but with every single moment and life and experience simultaneous and "now". I think that's what he means and why there are no others or other minds.
  2. Do you forget your ONLY interaction with "the universe" which is supposedly "out there" is via hallucinations rendered in your mind? Sights, sounds, taste, touch, smell, all rendered by your mind. You don't know the world through any other means, just mind hallucinations.
  3. Even in lucid dreams I'm avoidant of people. I know they're not real but they still frighten me. I think I have a legit phobia of people, they're like nightmare monsters to me... The characters in my dreams are also me but don't seem impeded in this way. Furthermore, they talk freely in lengthy sentences that I could not consciously do myself. The more I consider it, the weirder the whole thing is.
  4. This is what is different in interpretations between some people. In a dream there is a subject and an object. Both are just the mind of the dreamer, as you said. It's that singular mind which is by illusion appearing to be multiple things. It's critically different from some people who will write that there is no subject/object because they are one. The oneness is like the dreamer's mind. For a character confined in the dream there is subject/object. I heard it explained well a few times. One thing I noted is that the mind must appear finite for anything to ever be. For green to be observed, it has to appear distinct from blue, red, yellow. Etc. The infinite has to make itself appear to be finite. Leo also covered this in discussing the scientific method attempting to capture infinity. You can't observe infinity in that way as to do so you'd need to be external from it. Which is impossible as infinity encompasses you. That is the dilemna of infinity, why it has to appear to be finite and limited by illusion for anything to ever be.
  5. His answer will be "Leo was never born, you're imagining it" or something, lol.
  6. CERTAINLY not. CERTAINLY... It produces soundWAVES, there is no sound.
  7. @vizual The non-existence of space is far more obvious I think. It is much more difficult to wrap your head around the passage of time with its non-existence.
  8. This is the result of getting high on DMT and experiencing the death of the self/other divide, right? I did not find that compelling in hindsight (can't think during the trip, only after in hindsight). What I found certain and compelling was "emptiness". The inherent literal nothingness of isolated awareness. Becoming nothingness was certainly no drug trip delusion... Either I became nothing observing me, or there was nothing where I'd have expected a little observer substance to reside. DMT induced neti-neti until I was literal nothingness... When the subject and object divide collapsed, it was more like a dream in that there was still observed objects but I understood keenly that all of it was mind. I wasn't separate from what I was seeing. That's not the same as what is often implied regarding no subject and object.
  9. Those are useless. I'd rather see an fMRI scan of when he's on a release dose of 5-MeO-DMT. Why? Because I suspect the brain will be nearly completely shut down, with very very minimal activity. I'd like to see the comparison to mushrooms and acid, which already have scans available to see.
  10. Mental. Crap drug. Only purpose I think is to weaken the self to the effects of DMT (breakthrough with DMT while on high dose acid is... different. Lol), or enhancing music. If DMT etc did not exist it would have a purpose. Lasts way too long. Unpleasant body load throughout those many hours. Urgh.
  11. There aren't two minds to even be the same or different though. It's just yours alone... In the same sense that you probably say your mind 10 seconds ago was one mind, rather than calling that two minds.
  12. @Terell Kirby There are no other minds, so there's no such thing as "all" minds and the sentence then doesn't make sense.
  13. There's no such thing as two minds in that scenario, unless you also consider your mind of 5 seconds ago a second other mind compared to the one right now. In that scenario your mind of 5 seconds ago is as equally yours as my mind. How we talk right now, it's almost like if future you could go back in time and talk to younger you. It's you talking to yourself. Because we only understand linear time, it's like I right now am you from the future (or vice versa) who just travelled back in time to write this to you... But linear time isn't real, just eternity. Timelessness. So it's all happening now. Both your mind from 10 years ago and my mind now and your mind now, all happening now in that timeless "moment".
  14. Didn't seem to give any notion of choice, or love. On heavy trips I'd actually say those things were REMARKABLY absent, to where those particular things were more absent than almost ANYTHING else.
  15. Desire or thought are appearances, the will you have to flap your arms and fly around is itself imagined, appearing as thought, desire, feeling, and so on. Are you really controlling where these desires and thoughts appear from?
  16. I don't think creation and choice are the same thing. When I trip hard I'm not choosing the neon honeycomb patterns... One time I willed Marge Simpson's hair, but the thing is, that will in itself had to come from somewhere. Like Mason then said after your post. What chooses the choosing of the choice etc etc etc.
  17. But you all aren't saying it's "chosen" right? As in lucid dreams, I don't know if I choose my action before I do it. It seems to me that the desire for a certain action in a lucid dream, or even just an action period, arises without anything's conscious choosing. In dreams I see the landscapes appear without my conscious choosing. Is "will" the same as this? As in things just happening without my choosing at all. Sort of like just a natural process. I'm interested really in how/why this works as it does. There would technically then be no "creator" of these things in the sense that the creator is not choosing what to create. It just appears.
  18. I would understand that take, yeah. It is possible in some states to bend things to my "will" like in lucid dreams. But on closer inspection, the will to - say - flap my arms and fly in a dream appeared, and before it appeared it wasn't anywhere. And before it was thought, I can't say I played any part in choosing to bring it out of nothingness into being thought.
  19. Oh so it doesn't mean "choice" in this context?
  20. @Tim R I'm referring to even absolute will. If absolute will means a thought or desire must arise to then act upon to will into existence, then the thought or desire is an appearance itself. The world "will" seems intimately tied into the idea of some form of want. If it is happening without any want, then what is the word for that? It would more resemble necessity than will if something happens without first the appearance of a desire for said thing to happen.
  21. @Tim R The terminology isn't right is it? Isn't any desire just appearance, which you did not pick (AKA where was the desire before you felt it)? And then what's happening isn't "willed", I don't know what the term would be but the desire itself is just appearing.
  22. Leo is DEFINITELY going to convince many more people to just straight up jump off a bridge.
  23. Around 2 years, tripped a ridic amount. I'm not better or worse. I won't use these drugs again.
