  1. I drink coffee because I like the ritual and taste. The caffeine doesn't affect me that much. I believe in the health benefits. But make sure to cycle it. For example drink it only on the weekdays. Or drink it for 3 weeks, then stop for 1 week to let your adrenals rest. Switch to decaf on the off week.
  2. @BlackMaze put one hand on the chest, and one hand on the stomach. Now take a normal breath. Which expands first? Your stomach should expand first,, then your chest. This is diaphramic breathing. For best parasympathetic activation and increased hrv, breath rhythmically, meaning in and out in and out without pauses inbetween. Now if you want to practice breathing exercises like intermittent hypoxia for health benefits you can look up wim Hoff method or soma breath (my personal preference)
  3. Yeah. Took about 3-4 months but I stopped getting extreme bloating and gas, which I had for 2 years. The biggest leaps in improvement was when I would do a 5 day fast or olive oil detox before starting my antibacterial regimin.
  4. @Godhead soy is controversial. Most studies suggest it raises estrogen which dampens thyroid and metabolism. Some studies suggest it may reduce risk of certain cancers. But they are loaded with unsaturated fats which you want to avoid. I think if you want to eat it for taste it's OK once in a while, but don't use it as a staple for protein.
  5. Oh I should have clarified by blog I ment ones written about Andy cutlers method. And how they give you general guidelines for risks about certain methods of testing for metals. Of course when you do the protocol you should read the books properly and join the fb support groups.
  6. I only read the books. But looking around it foes seem some people are dosing around 300 as their max dose. Apparently it's based on your weight and some guy said he's 200lbs and his max would come to 300mg. I may be wrong, but I feel like he made special caution for people not to ramp up their dosage by more than 5-15mg each time and to make sure they feel no fatigue and other symptoms before moving to the next level or risk stirring up too much metals and over burdening the liver and pathways of elimination.
  7. @Vignan specially designed playlists that invoke specific emotions during the onset, ascent, peak, come down, and return to earth phases of the trip. https://mapsofthemind.com/2019/10/30/6-music-playlists-psilocybin-journeys/ Don't listen to them when your sober though because you don't want to listen to music you have connections with because that will just invoke those memories. Only use during trips and change it up each time so you don't get too familiar. When using headphones and eye masks and the playlists it brings out a lot of hidden emotions or traumas. Sometimes at the peak you can start feeling a lot of fear or discomfort because you don't want to accept what is comming out, but if you go in with the intention of learning and acceptance you can release these emotions and bring thme them a resolution.
  8. The 600mg ala dose sounds dangerous. Cutler never recommended more than 100mg because anything past that is only like 2-3% increase in effectiveness, while being more dangerous
  9. In Buddhism, when you attain 4th jhana, the breath stops. It's just a by product of jhana/Samad, not really something you work for.
  10. I'd recommend reading mercury detoxification manual. It's a guide based on Andy cutlers protocol. Or just Google around and many blogs give the basics. The Andy cutler chelation Facebook group has lots of support for questions. People post the specific type of hair mineral analysis on there and there are Dr's and experts who will analyze the results for you to see if you have signs of heavy metal toxicity. Every "expert" has their own opinions about what's the best method so there's no right or wrong. Many heavy metal doctors use the urine method, but in Andy cutlers protocol he doesn't recommend as there are risks. Perhaps if you never had amalgrams or sever heavy metal poisoning you won't get any of the sid effects from the urine testing method.
  11. I feel like the only thing you want to avoid is to train yourself to sleep after meditation, like you don't want to habitualise meditating and getting sleepy and then sleep. So after meditation if yiu feel tired, go brush your teeth and chill for 15 min, then go to sleep. You just don't want to train yourself to get sleepy everytime yiu meditate. Pavlov dog type scenario.
  12. @Tomtad what's your diet like? are you eating too many hard to digest grains like brown rice or quinoa? A lot of fruit and raw stuff? Those all dampen stomach acid because of high water content. Do you have enough protein? Protein is necessary for the liver and digestion to function properly. It seems like vegan would be hard to get real good sources of protein without being tough on digestion like beans, lentils, nuts. I feel like you almost need a protein powder if your on vegan. Do you have enough good fats in your diet like quality olive oil and saturated fats like coconut oil? I know this isn't vegan but have you thought about local farm raised eggs? They aren't fertilized and chickens just drop like one a day automatically and if there's no male to fertilize it just never produces a chick. I have an Indian friend who's vegetarian since birth (no eggs but milk ok) and he says he feels like crap without milk. I think its because the saturated fats and protein. Without it his digestion gets real bad also.
  13. @Vision I'd recommend checking that Dr ruscio guy out. His book explains things clearly and that if you think you have sibo and have enough symptoms, you don't need to know if you have methane or sulfide version and that testing as you see is very hit or miss unless you actually get that invasive procedure michael talked about. Dr ruscio even says it's not always necessary to get testing done, but just jump into the protocol and see your reaction.. The herbal antibiotics bacterial protocol will take care of both types of sibo. I listed supps that I used in an earlier post, but you can get it more simply through the guys website, which may be like 15% more expensive, but it saves you trouble. You can opt to do the 5 day fasting before hand or take his powdered meal replacements, but I recommend you to do it because for me personally it created a huge change compared to supps only, which I started with.
  14. @Fadious we tend to think of it as "punishment and reward" but for karma, it's just a natural law of reality. There's no judgement with what it brings. Like gravity, what goes up comes down, there's no better or worse, it is just what happens. Applying heat to an object makes fire, applying cold makes ice. No good or bad, just natural actions and reactions. If you do wholesome things, wholesome things will bear fruit. If you do unwholesome things, unwholesome things bear fruit. That is all. Judging it as good or bad is only from your subjective viewpoint. So if we don't want to suffer bad feelings in the future, we make sure not do do anything that creates bad karma. It just so happens what creates bad karma is unwholesome thoughts, speech, and actions. Yes this is true. Those who can achieve success easily in this life time is because past life wholesome karma now bearing fruit in this life. For example two people of equal caliber can work in an industry, but one person just never seems to "make it" no matter how hard they try while the other gets presented opportunities, that if they use it wisely, will bring back much success. This is because of karma. It creates the conditions necessary for success if you take it. I'm sure there are many pretty, smart, and wealthy people who do much good too. You just don't hear about them because they don't do it to show off and most sensational news is from hatred not love. As we now know, bad news sells more than good news. Controversy creates more notoriety. But true, there are those who have everything and yet do unwholesome things. This could be because of many things, from how they were raised or perhaps the success has let them think it is ok to act in such a way without consequence. But know that their actions will bear their respective fruits in the future. Whether this life or the next. This is why karma is the great equalizer. We just don't have the foresight to see it because we think there is only this one life. But if you retained your memories of each life, you would see clearly the action and reaction of your life choices.
  15. I'm wondering how you all use psychedelics for spirituality. In my case I've tried 10 tabs of lsd (first time using psychedelics) combined with psilocybin music therapy playlists with an eye mask, mdma with the music playlist and eye mask, insufflating 45mg 5 meo freebase (went with 45mg instead of 30mg because I thought there may be a tolerance because immediately before i tried vaping 15mg but I didn't get a breakthrough dose because of technical problems, but my body did start moving on its own and I had this whiteness and rainbow in my vision), and also vaping 15mg 5 meo and achieved breakthrough. The vaping was just a very short version of my insufflation experience, and while it had the same general trip guidelines as the insuflation, it felt less impactful because it was so short. After it was over I only had an afterglow for an hour or so while the insufflation lasted days and some mild reactivations. In each case except the mdma i experienced what felt like eternity and the infinite rounds of death and rebirth then reaching the ego death state where I thought I was the creator and everyone was just part of my imaginings. That there was no one but me all along. I felt how silly and small all my problems and worrys were when it was just a spec in the vast length of time within infinity. After comming out of these experiences I always had an afterglow for a day or two where I was super compassionate and understanding towards others and I felt I could forgive people for their flaws because I could understand it came from deep fears and insecurities that all people have hidden within them. I felt like I understood that everyone is just alone in this universe and that they aquire ways of coping with this deep sense of dissatisfaction and insecurity towards life either through lust, greed, hatred, or pride. But after a week I'm usually back to normal and I wonder to myself what use was all that if it doesn't last? People here talk about how they see the oneness of the universe or that they know they are God or a part of God, but what exactly does that do for your life? I'm wondering how you guys use psychedelics besides just for the experience of oneness or bliss or whatever. Personally I'm just not attracted to those temporary states and am wondering if there's any reason to continue psychedelics for spirituality.
  16. This is why I think Buddhism has the most complete understanding of life. Ultimately there is no self. It's just a conglomeration of separate mind moments held together by karma, giving rise to the illusion of a continuous consciousness, or the self. Karma is the only thing that is "real." The only thing that stays with "you" after death. Why are some born pretty, smart, and wealthy? Why are some born ugly, dumb, and poor? This is the result of karma that you have accumulated in previous lives giving fruit in this one. There are still unripe karma that have not born fruit, so in the future you may find yourself in an even worse situation, or conversely in a much better situation. No one can know the full scope of how karma functions because it is too vast to know every working, but we can try to make sure not to create any new unwholesome karma, which results in suffering in the future. We can do this by keeping our thoughts, speech, and actions pure. We can generate wholesome karma by thinking, speaking, and doing wholesome actions. In Buddhism, when you give offerings or do something wholesome, know that it generates wholesome karma, in this way when the karma ripens it will be stronger than if you did those actions without knowledge of karma. Meditation is a wholesome action. If you can attain jhanas, these states are very high states that produce much wholesome karma because they are devoid of unwholesome mind states. But exist is to have suffering so we strive to end this suffering, this existence, once and for all. The notion of "justice" is only a form of hatred and greed. Good things and bad things happen to us because of our karma. It does not matter what happens to others, only our identification with it makes us seek justice. If someone does unwholesome things, they will suffer the fruit of karma in the future. There is no need for us to wish bad on someone, this only causes ourself to incur more unwholesome karma. Do not make someone else's karma your own. We should instead have compassion, because those who understand karma know that those who do unwholesome actions will suffer when their karma bears fruit, and it is because of their ignorance they inflict suffering on themselves.
  17. The beautiful mind is one that inclines towards wholesome mind states. This is achieved by keeping sila, or morality. When unwholesome mind states such as hatred, anger, lust, sloth and torpor arise, one should redirect their mind towards their wholesome counterparts. Abide in these wholesome mindstates and the mind will become beautiful.
  18. What object do you use to enter jhanas? You say you've reached 4th path and fruition, but did you know the Buddha says that those who have attained arahantship and do not ordain will take parinibanna immediately? They cannot stay in this body any longer because there is nothing keeping them to this shell. They have no mind and create no karma because there is no volition behind their actions. I'm not criticizing what you say about your attainments, but from reading a lot on the internet people mistake what it means to attain path and fruition and especially jhanas.
  19. @Vision either you don't have sibo... or you do. In the book healthy gut healthy you, the guy talks about how tests aren't 100% accurate, maybe like 60% only. It also matters the sugar they give you. I forget if he says lactose was the more accurate one or if it was the other glucose or something. I feel like I remember glucose was more accurate because it's transit is slower or something. I think your test means the lactose didn't trigger fermentation and gas in your small intestine (sibo is small intestinal bacterial overgrowth) but fermented in your colon instead, which is normal because that's where your probiotics live. So according to your test you dont have sibo, but again testing for sibo is very hit or miss since it depends on many factors like the sugars they use, and like your test says "unless small intestine transit is abnormally slow"
  20. Reincarnation only makes sense if you believe the story surrounding it. For example in Buddhism, there is no self or soul that gets reborn; its only karma that binds your habitual tendencies that gets passed down life after life. You now, is not the you of the past because there is no soul, but the you of now has the inherited karma of the phenomena of you of the past. If you believe this, I do, then reincarnation makes sense. If you don't have the background knowledgr of karma, it's workings, and it's part in reincarnation then the theory unravels. That's why people are so confused about the process of reincarnation, they don't have the complete theory and rules encompassing the phenomena, only a part here and a part there so they come to conclusions like no it's not real it's just a mind construct or other.
  21. If you read up on the Andy cutler protocol, he doesn't recommend these types of urine tests because it's not very reliable and taking only 1 dose of metal chelators could stir up more negatives than positives. He recommends a specific type of hair mineral analysis and according to your mineral levels it gives you hints as to if metals are causing depletions. Before undertaking heavy metal chelation its imperative to study up and know what your getting into. You can seriously hurt yourself if you truly are heavy metal toxic.
  22. I've done the cutler protocol. I think its got the best track record. Read the book, join the Facebook group. Make sure to dose correctly according to their half life's. Or else your just stirring up metals and displacing them in another part causing more damage. Make sure you got all your metals out of your mouth first. The gentlest way would be to take a lot of minerals like good quality sea salt or mineral water. But you won't get real work done until you do the protocol. And you need to do the protocol correctly or risk hurting yourself more.
  23. Crazy isn't it? Especially when they found like 3 weeks of intermittent fasting could cure 70% of longstanding type 2 diabetics. And a couple more weeks for the other 30.
  24. I had sibo for 3 years, didn't know what it was till last year. I just had God awful distended belly after eating, usually starting In the afternoon then lots of gas the rest of the day. Didn't know what it was until I learned about sibo. And it's prolific, like if you don't seriously do the protocols and just take some supplements here and there it's never gonna get better. It'll temporarily receed then just come back. I don't think it's necessary to get a breath test. Hydrogen sulfide or methane, whatver because if your using herbs and stuff, the treatment is basically the same. Usually you need to do 2-3 rounds of the herbal antibiotics before it's completely gone. Basically you can usually only wipe out like 50% each time, so every round will weaken it and weaken it, until finally there's not enough to cause a problem. This is the case with chemical antibiotic and herbal. Usually sibo isn't a nuke the crap out of it and your good. You just slowly need to rebalance your population. https://drruscio.com/ this guy has antibiotic herbal supplements and gut repairing powders. You can just learn the basics from his blog or book and decide what you need. His site makes it easy to get everything in one place. Personally i just got supplements from other places and built my own protocol because it's slightly cheaper. I rotated between apex energetics gi synergy and biotics research fc cidal + dysbiocide. I also added oregano oil and allicin. Took a gut mucosa healing powder also to reduce inflammation in the gut lining to help repair and rebalance flora. And took restor flora by microbiome labs as my probiotic. It's spore based specifically designed strains for sibo. I use https://www.maybeitsmercury.com/supplements this ladies referral thing to get some supplements at a good discount like the biotics research. If you feel researching all the products is too time consuming and want to just jump into the protocol, I'd just go with Dr ruscios stuff. It's just slightly more expensive. He recommends his elemental diet where you eat these low fodmap carb drinks for 5 days or so. Personally because I didn't want to spend the money, I just fasted for 5 days. Well, I did a liver detox thing where I drank half cup olive oil and half cup grapefruit juice twice a day 12 hrs apart, and an enema twice a day 1hr before taking the potion. The point of his elemental diet or my detox is to ingest NO fiber that feeds the bacteria. You starve down BOTH bad and good bacteria. Then you start taking the antibacterial supps, while eating lowfodmap. This way instead firing into huge legions of enemies, you starve them all down, reduce their numbers, then start "attacking." This method worked best for me. I tried just taking all the supps and I tried fasting and then taking the supps. It's a huge difference in effectiveness. The first method works, but be prepared to spend more money because you gotta treatment longer.
  25. Oh but practically maybe you have light candida so it makes you crave sugar. Maybe some anti candida type diet or supplements and spore biotics? To lessen the blood sugar spike you can take apple cider vinegar and cinnamon which blunts the peaks, so you get less of a high and less of a crash.
