it tricked you into thinking its something -
Don't blame Leo for people performing spiritual bypass, he has a lot of foundational content, its just boring so people don't watch it as much. At least that's why I don't watch it as much. This place is special because it doesn't pander too much to the people who want basic self help and basic spirituality, those people have a lot of other places to go.

@Leo Gura Why would reality being my own mind mean that every subject is the same subject?
-
As I delve deeper into multiple seemingly different subjects of study I have come to see that they are all playing within the same parameters, they all show you the same patterns. Any true understanding of one part of reality can be applied to any other part of reality. If you disagree with this statement please try to convince me otherwise.

@Osaid Because male loneliness is not just caused by a lack of dates and sex. Its a broader issue about the differences between masculinity and femininity, friendship, and lack of connection to one’s surroundings in various ways.
-
I have realized that every subject is the same subject so I no longer want to study one type of thing but rather find the most advanced systems (by advanced I mean most intelligent, interconnected, efficient and loving) so that I can apply the ways in which those systems operate to the ways in which I operate. So what are the most advanced systems you know of? EXAMPLES OF ADVANCES SYSTEMS: the human brain ant colonies hydroelectricity Ai computing (as in alpha go)

The obvious answer is: "your desire for others to see you is really the desire for you to see yourself" but I'm not satisfied with these simplistic kinds of answers. I asked my mind in a lucid dream what it is that I really want, the dream replied: To Be Observed. This felt true, but it was not what I expected. I can see how in a certain way, everything that I do is done to get the attention of others. Why Do I Want To Be observed/Famous? It feels like the desire to be known and seen, but also known and seen as all of the things which are commonly regarded as positive. I also love watching Kanye west, Leo recently said he is being an attention whore like a child, maybe that's why I like him, because I do that too.

INTER-CONNECTED-NESS: The state of having different parts or things connected or related to each other. Interconnection between differences is intelligence itself. The more interconnected the system, the more intelligent the system. Therefore I would like to create a thread of examples of things which have a large amount over interconnectedness. FOR EXAMPLE: How companies function with a lot of employees working together. How different plants interact in the forest. How different circuits in a computer communicate. How different human languages relate to each other in their similarities and differences. How the different parts of the human organism function by communicating with each other.

I have tried doing reality checks so that I can have a lucid dream, but I never end up doing them in my dreams. I can’t seem to make it into a subconscious habit, how do I make it into a habit instead of just something that I have to remind myself to do?
-
Does anyone use lucid dreams to raise consciousness like a psychedelic experience or a meditation practice? And if so how do you do it? I have experienced dreams which have given me amazing insights and even felt like psychedelic experiences but I can’t seem to induce profound dreams or lucid dreams purposefully and I want to be able to.
-
I have tried to lucid dream for years and have only succeeded a few times, sometimes when I wasn’t even trying. It seems totally inconsistent. I have tried all of the conventional techniques and I’ve tried meditating before bed, lucid dreaming pills, and more I can easily remember my dreams most nights but they are almost never lucid. Sometimes I feel like I knew that I was in a dream but still did not have enough lucidity to ACT as if I was in a dream. The only pattern of lucid dream induction I’ve picked up on is abstaining from screen use for the day prior to the dream, but that has only worked twice so I’m not sure. It really annoys me that I can’t tell if I’m dreaming or not.

Leo's style of debate is often condescending. Is this style of debate and overall communication efficient when it comes to gettin your point across and bringing the one whom you are communicating with more clarity of mind? (I'm not saying it isn't, I'm just asking because I'm not sure) This style of communication works well on me because I also communicate like this, so I can easily relate to Leo when he talks in this way. The problem is that I am addicted to being condescending, because it frustrates me how simple minded most people seem to be. This addiction is not conducive with listening to others, being open hearted towards them, and appreciating the beauty of self deception.

Why meditate sitting upright if your goal is to relax the body? Wouldn't it make more sense to meditate while laying down if the goal is to relax? I seem to be able to dis-identify with my sense of separation easier when laying down than sitting up.

that's the best video of all time objectively if u don't agree you are clearly stuck in ignorance

talking seems to be pretty good because its so simple and easy to do quickly. But movies have more dimensions and music seems to induce feelings easier. What do you think the best way to communicate is? what's ur favorite way to convey an idea to someone else?

@vladorion so then could you give me an example of tough love?

Julian gabriel replied to Julian gabriel's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Leo Gura But if I do not fall asleep from it, and I find that it works for me, then why keep the spine vertical? -
@vladorion ok, then could you explain the difference between condescension and tough love please?
-
Requisite Variety states that for a system to be stable, the number of states that its control mechanism is capable of attaining (its variety) must be greater than or equal to the number of states in the system being controlled. So how do we apply this to our way of thinking? Has anyone studied cybernetics in more depth and if so could you elaborate on what requisite variety is? How could requisite variety be linked to spiral dynamics?

@Razard86 Even though condescension can be masculine love, it often feels like a shadow expression of masculinity when I do it, and I think that is why I am addicted to it in part, because I must express that shadow of masculine forcefulness in some way. How do I transmute that forceful energy into something more self aware and productive?
