I agree .. listening to other peoples ideas can be confusing. All these ideas about the nature of reality and the nature of awerness are not important.. and are not what you should be focusing on. The only thing that matters is to look inside yourself and look for the truth there. The only relevant question you have to ask yourself is who am I ? .. every wisdom in the universe comes from answering that fundamental question.. -

I sorry if I confuse you more but.. Everything that IS, is just one immense sea of awareness and light. -
I would just add that Love is a very powerful natural drug. It will take you to enlightment and it will heal you !
-
I have never taken drugs so I cant add any valuable insights on the subject. I do however relate to the "wanting to replicate the experience" thing. These experiences are so powerful and so breathtaking that is normal and understandable that you would want to replicate them. With time I learned that trying to replicate an experience is actually a form of resistance. You resist what is. My advice would be to try to remain as present as posible. Stay in the now Emerald ! Thats the only place you can find what you are looking for.

This is what happens with enlightment.. You realize that paradise had always been in front of you. You realize that all the beauty, love and joy you will ever need is already inside you so you stop searching for any of these things outside. You feel complete. There is nothing left to desire so all your desires slowly disappear. The only desire you will have left is a deep desire to be present, a desire to enjoy the amazing beauty of everything around you.- 17 replies

I agree with Truthseeker. Enlightenment is not about dissolving or rejecting the ego and nothing good will come from trying to do that. Our ego is an intrinsic part of who we are as humans. In fact, an inevitable consequence of enlightenment is acceptance and a profound love for everything that is, including our ego. The answer is not rejection. The answer is love and compassion. The answer is acceptance. Accept your ego as part of who you are.- 17 replies

Nothing I can write can describe the beauty that we are. It needs to be experienced. It is meant to be discovered. But If I had to put it in words this is what I would say: We are pure awareness, pure love and pure light, eternal, divine and one with everything and everyone. We are one with all that IS. (We are one with God) What do yo think ?

Meditation is very important. You have to achieve clarity and stillness.. What do I mean by this? Imagine your mind as a choppy sea, the surface is full of waves, big and small with riddles everywhere. Now imagine the same sea but early in the morning with no wind or tides affecting the surface. It looks almost like a perfect mirror. It can reflect light almost without distortions. Absolute clarity. The second thing you need is an ability to stay focused, still, in the present moment. To do this, in addition to a clear mind, you need a relatively low level of emotional stress in your life. But THIS IS NOT ENOUGH !!! You need to learn to fill your heart with love. You need to turn ON the lights. You need to be INSPIRED !! How? Just look around ! look at all the beauty ! What can help ? anything that helps you tune-in with feelings of love, like holding your son/daughter in your arms, a pure act of kindness or compassion, experiencing nature in its absolute beauty, experiencing joy in many ways, or experiencing beauty through art or music. Music is a great doorway to enlightenment because music is a vibration, if you can tune-in with music then you only need to find music that vibrates in very very high frequencies, frequencies of love, joy, and compassion and then become ( tune-in) with the music. Get inspired !! Vibrate as pure love and you will shine. Believe me. Then .. Focus your awarness on itself !!

thanks beautiful.. I just came out of the river this morning .. ☀️

Let me tell you a story .. imagine you are playing a game of hide and seek .. and you are hiding in the dark. You found a very good spot were no one can find you. They search and they search .. and they just cant find you !! Suddently you hear beautiful music of love coming from one of the seakers.. You turn around to hear this amazing music and you see that this music of love makes the seakers awareness radiate pure light !! upppss !!! suddently its not so dark any more .. Then you look at yourself and you see that this music of love is also making your own awerness shine !! .. Now. Finally. The seeaker can see you !! You are shining in pure light .. Ok so I hope I made it clear.. but just in case I didnt. Let me explain what happens. "Awerness radiates/shines light when it vibrates as love" So TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS !! This is the big secret.. this is how you turn on the lights.

Jan and Emerald. Please let me help you ? The only way to enlightenment is love. Let me explain why this is the case. Enlightenment is experiencing your essence or true nature. Your true nature is being (pure I AMness). So how do you find being ? First you need to know what you are looking for .. so let me tell you. Being is a vibration of energy and it IS at a certain frequency. The frequency of being IS the frequency of pure Love, pure Joy and pure Compassion combined. It's a nice cocktail.. jaja If you want to experience being you must tune-in with that frequency. You have to become IT. Being can not be understood or described by the mind. This is why you cannot think your way into enlightenment. Being has to be experienced by our feelings and our senses. Being is all around us but we can't see it. It is hidden from us. The reason we can't see it is because we are looking for it in the dark. Let me tell you how to find it. Imagine you are in a dark room and you want to find something in the room. What do you do ? You can sit in the room waiting for the thing to somehow move and hit you (this can take 5000 hours or more) or you can crawl and try to feel it with your hands but this is a big big room ( this can also take 5,000 hours or more) or there is a third option !!! Simply find the light switch and TURN ON THE LIGHTS in the room. No more need to spend 5,000 hours. It appears immediately. It was right in front of you ! But we all know this stuff !! .. The problem is that nobody knows where the light switch IS or how to turn it ON !! Do you want to know how ?

I think the difference between a belief and knowing is that beliefs come from outside (someone else) and are based on faith whereas knowing comes from within ourselves and it is based on experience. This is why the only place we can find the truth is inside ourselves. Having someone tell you what's true is not enough and it is not knowledge. You have to look inside. -

thanks for sharing, i love mooji. -
Enlightenment is fundamentally experiencing your true nature/your essence. In that sense I agree with Ayla. It's about experiencing pure beingness. However, I think any description of enlightenment is incomplete. The only way to really understand it is to experience it. Having said that, in my case it felt like I was vibrating as pure love and light surrounded my entire body. I could feel waves of energy coming out of every cell in my body. It felt like I was becoming pure light. I lost track of time and I experienced the purest love I have felt in my life. This experience changed me forever.. nothing was the same after that. I know it sounds strange but it's the best I can describe it.

You see, We already know everything. We just dont remember.. Enlightment is to remember..

Beautiful and Wise answer. ?

You can definitely have a partner. Enlightenment is not about abandoning your humanity. It's about accepting it fully ! I will use the following metaphor to try to explain what I mean. Imagine yourself as a great pianist. All your life you have played what you think were all the notes in your piano. Highs and lows. And you have learned to play amazing music. When you remember who you are (become enlightened) you become aware that your piano is much larger than you thought. You can play incredibly beautiful notes that you never even knew existed. Initially, you will want to spend as much time as possible exploring the new notes in your piano. Its normal. But don't forget the other notes. Every note is equally beautiful, not only the new ones ! Play all your notes. Fully embrace your humanity, as well as your divinity, all of who you are, and make amazing music to be enjoyed by everyone around you. Claiming we are only our spirit is as wrong as claiming we are only our body. As long as we are human we are both and both are equally important and equally beautiful. Stay close to everything that makes you human. Embrace your family and friends. Hug and kiss your loved ones, express your love and joy. This will bring you happiness and peace. Your life and everything in it, is a gift of love for you. So enjoy it !

Thanks for your comments Khin. I have not studied Buddhism, so I have to declare my ignorance about their believes. I cannot speak for Buddhism. What I do know is that emotions are somehow stored inside our mind/body. The evidence of this is clear. Emotional traumas stay in our mind/body. Just look at soldiers coming back from war. Their war traumas can last many years or even all their life ! unless they resolve them (release their emotions). It's important to clarify that the release of emotions is a consequence of enlightenment. Let me explain .. The Enlightenment experience, which is a whole subject on its own and I can gladly go into that later, triggers a deep emotional healing process. The reason this happens is because the amount of joy, love and compassion you experience during the experience and after the experience is off the charts. A light actually turns on inside you. This is what I wrote down about the healing process I went through ( this is only part ) “I will use the following metaphor to explain. Imagine you have lived your whole life in a house. You know the kitchen, the bedroom and every other room in the house. One day a light turns on and you suddenly become aware that there is another room in the house. This is the room where all the emotions that are not expressed are stored. I suddenly became aware of these emotions. It was very painful. My biggest pain came from realizing how much love I had held back in my life. How many hugs and kisses I had not given, how many times I had failed to expressed love to my family, how many times I should have been more kind to people and how many times I had harmed people through my actions, through my judgements and through my ignorance. I felt a deep sorrow to the point that I felt physical pain in my heart, tightness in my muscles and I got terribly sick. I realized that I had not been fully aware of what I was doing. I was deeply sorry. I also realized that the people that had harmed me had also not been fully aware of what they were doing. My pain and my sadness was so strong that I cried for days. At the end I forgave myself and I forgave everyone around me. How could I not? A few days later, I felt a deep sense of liberation, and peace. My emotional state felt lighter, as if I had literally released a weight I had been carrying for years. I felt younger. It reminded me of how I felt when I was a child.” I hope this sheads some light on the whole subject..

If by karma you mean the emotional baggage that we carry from our past. Yes. Absolutely. It plays a huge role. Let me explain .. All the emotions that are not expressed throughout our life are stored inside our mind and our body. These stored emotions become the main cause of our anxiety, stress, bad moods, intolerance, fear etc. These emotions build up and become painful. They are there all the time. They also block our ability to express love and make us miserable. There comes a point when you either look inside to find the source of the problem or you get sick (neurotic or worse). It's like swimming in a river against the current all the time !!! It's exhausting.. There comes a point when the only alternative is to let go. You stop swimming (resisting) and you let the current carry you away.

I could join the club and tell you to “ Enjoy your Chimpdom” but I'd rather describe a bit of what you will be missing .. it's up to you to decide when, at the end we all end up in the same place anyway.. This is what is feels like .. and it's just a small taste of what it really is: ( read it with your heart, Not your mind ) Everything seems alive, full of magic and absolutely beautiful. Your joy for life is so big that you just couldn't stop smiling. The present moment becomes so sweet that you are no longer concerned about the future. Fear and sadness disappear, and are replaced with compassion, joy and light. A light of love and compassion turns on somewhere inside your head and in my heart and from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to bed you remain in a continuous state of grace. Being and interacting with people becomes absolutely amazing and your body, and in particular your head will seem to radiate what feels like an energy of pure light You realize that everything, from the biggest star to the smallest particle of dust is a gift of love to us and you become aware of the absolute beauty and perfection of everything around you. You realize that paradise had always been in front of you. You realize that all the beauty, love and joy you will ever need is already inside you so you stop searching for any of these things outside. You feel complete. There is nothing left to desire so all your desires slowly disappear. The only desire you will have left is a deep desire to be present, a desire to enjoy the amazing beauty of everything around you. You fall in love with yourself and you fall in love with life. You fall in love with what IS.
