  1. @Davekay Some advice. First, Enlightenment is not about dissolving or rejecting the ego. Your Ego is not your enemy. It is part of who you are. Second, You dont have to meditate more than 20-30 minutes. Short periods of time is fine but try to do it everyday. Third, Meditate with music and focus on the music.
  2. @Kyle Realization of nonduality is a result of enlightenment. What happens during enlightenment is that you become your true nature. Pure beingness.. In essence you become One with being and you realize the Oneness of everything that IS. This realization takes time.. it doesn't happen instantaneously. It is a natural consequence of enlightenment. Your goal is not to understand non duality. Your goal is to experience your essence. Non duality understanding comes after.
  3. Religion, God and Spirit. Let me put it like this. Throughout the centuries there have been very special people like Jesus, Buddha or Moses etc. These people were very special because they dedicated their lives to look for god inside themselves and in others and, to their surprise, they found him. Then they simply dedicated their lives, out of compassion, to teach others how to find god inside them, and many did. Up to this point everything was great. Time passed and the focus on searching for god inside changed. Too much emphasis was placed on rules, traditions and rituals (Mass, Shabbat, Praying etc.) and organized institutions were created like the catholic church, the jewish religion and many others. Religions offer a series of rules, rituals, traditions and structure for people that need someone to tell them what is right and what is wrong or people that want to belong to a group to feel secure. The sad part is that they waste their precious time and energy in superficial things and they don't search for what is really important: The god that is inside.
  4. Its very important not to repress your feellings ! If you feel like crying, cry. If you feel joyful, let your self feel that.. etc. Let your self go, and pay attention to your feelings. Another thing .. Feelings need to be liberated ! The only way to do this is to express them. If you feel sad, let yourself feel it and say “I am sad” if you know why, say it.. Go through the process. It can be painful but it is necessary and you will feel great after.
  5. For me enlightenment is experiencing who you really are. In essence. You become pure light and pure love. It is also the transformation process that comes after. Nirvana or paradise is the bliss, the ecstasy, the state of mind, the realization and the peace that you get and stays with you every single day of your life after enlightenment.

You fall in love with yourself and you fall in love with life. You fall in love with what IS."

  11. @WelcometoReality Imagine you are a beautiful musical instrument. You are NOT meant to play only ONE note. You are meant to play all your notes ! .. and make amazing music... We must accept and love our human nature profoundly and completely. Not only the desirable aspects of our humanity but every part of who we are. Accept and love it as it is. Don't judge it, fight it or try to change it. It is natural to sometimes feel sad, sleepy, tired, hungry, to have a headache or even to be frightened or in a bad mood. Don't judge your emotions. Don't feel guilty for feeling them. They are part of what make you human. Let your emotions be. Accept them and love them as part of who you are. The key is to be mindful of your own state of mind knowing and accepting that it is subject to change. That's how you let go of resistance and find peace.
  12. I have felt that walk.. its like pure being experiencing life through you. You have let go of resistance. Beautiful, but even that will pass. Enjoy it, but let it pass, dont hold on any state of mind..
  13. @KarmenKarmen! Its great that you are emotional. Its perfectly normal. I was also very emotional when I began meditating. I went through a deep emotional healing process. Deep, Deep, very Deep. I released all my unresolved emotions. It was tough. But I felt great after the process. So continue the process !!
  14. @Keri There are several ways to practice meditation. One way to meditate is to simply to become aware of your own thoughts. Just close your eyes, relax your body and observe your thoughts as they arise. The idea is not to resist your thoughts or judge them, just observe them and let them pass. This is very simple and yet very powerful because by observing your thoughts you become aware that you are not your thoughts, you are the one who is aware of your thoughts. You also learn to let your thoughts pass without attaching your attention to them. When you give your attention to a thought you give it more energy. By letting thoughts pass you can rise above them. Its like looking at a river from a bridge. The stream can be raging below and yet you can remain calm letting the river flow below us. Another way to meditate is to focus your awareness on something else like your breath, your body sensations or music. By focusing your attention on something else than your thoughts you take away their energy. This gradually reduced and eventually momentarily eliminates the flow of thoughts from your mind. Another way to meditate is to focus your awareness inwards, on yourself. The ultimate goal is to become aware of your own awareness.

  16. @WelcometoRealitySeparate what is true and what is not.. Your awakening was true, a beautiful deep experience and realization. That is true. Give yourself credit for that. These experiences are so profound and so amazing that it is easy to fall in the trap of trying to hold on to them. You try to hold on to that certain state of mind. Its kind of natural. Dont feel bad for that. What you have to accept and understand is that everything in this universe is subject to change incuding your emotional state. Thats just the way it is. Trying to hold on to anything is just a form of resistance. Enlightenment is not about staying all the time in some magical, neverending, high state of bliss. It is about being ok ( accepting) the fact that your state of mind will fluctuate. I hope this helps..

  19. @Frankie The key is that enlightened people don't need a partner to feel complete. They already are complete. They are in a relationship because they want to be in it, not because they need it. The motivation is different.
  20. Hi @Parki. There are two pieces of knowledge than can help to "accelerate the process". Know what you are looking for? And how to find it? .. I wrote this a few days ago in another forum. I hope it helps. --- The only way to enlightenment is love. Let me explain why this is the case. Enlightenment is experiencing your essence or true nature. Your true nature is being (pure I AMness). So how do you find being ? First you need to know what you are looking for .. so let me tell you. Being is a vibration of energy and it IS at a certain frequency. The frequency of being IS the frequency of pure Love, pure Joy and pure Compassion combined. It's a nice cocktail.. If you want to experience being you must tune-in with that frequency. You have to become IT. Being can not be understood or described by the mind. This is why you cannot think your way into enlightenment. Being has to be experienced by our feelings and our senses. Being is all around us but we can't see it. It is hidden from us. The reason we can't see it is because we are looking for it in the dark. Let me tell you how to find it. Imagine you are in a dark room and you want to find something in the room. What do you do ? You can sit in the room waiting for the thing to somehow move and hit you (this can take 5000 hours or more) or you can crawl and try to feel it with your hands but this is a big big room ( this can also take 5,000 hours or more) or there is a third option !!! Simply find the light switch and TURN ON THE LIGHTS in the room. No more need to spend 5,000 hours. It appears immediately. It was right in front of you ! But we all know this stuff !! .. The problem is that nobody knows where the light switch IS or how to turn it ON !! Do you want to know how ? Let me tell you a story .. imagine you are playing a game of hide and seek .. and you are hiding in the dark. You found a very good spot where no one can find you. They search and they search .. and they just can't find you !! Suddenly you hear beautiful music of love coming from one of the seekers.. You turn around to hear this amazing music and you see that this music of love makes the seeker's awareness radiate pure light !! upppss !!! suddenly it's not so dark any more .. Then you look at yourself and you see that this music of love is also making your own awareness shine !! .. Now. Finally. The seeker can see you !! You are shining in pure light .. Ok so I hope I made it clear.. but just in case I didn't. Let me explain what happens. "Awareness radiates (shines) light when it vibrates as love" So TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS !! This is the big secret.. this is how you turn on the lights.
