Hi @Nicole2602 ! I dont know about ghost. I have never seem them. What happens in enlightenment is that you become One with the absolute, source, god anyway you want to call it. You do "visit" return to that. It is the place we came from and where we are all going. That is what happens (among other things). This is not something you can plan. It is a natural result of your change in vibration. -

Hi @SkyPanther Thanks for your comments. I actually wrote something similar about this character- observer thing.. I wrote this months ago, funny how we all use similar analogies. ---- Imagine our life is a big play. There are many actors playing different characters in the play. However, we are so immersed in the play that we forget we are actors and we actually believe we are a character. The main problem with this is that characters are bounded by scripts and in this play there is no script so characters follow the scripts written by others. One day we look inside ourselves and we realize that we are not a character, we are actually the one who is aware of the character, in other words and following with the metaphor, we are an actor. In this play actors can decide and change almost any aspect of their characters including their story because as I mentioned before, there simply IS no script. In fact, once you become aware that you are an actor you don't need to act, you can just be. As long as we see ourselves as characters and not as actors we will be bounded by the scripts written by others. To see ourselves as actor we must look inside ourselves and find our essence. The only thing that is fixed is who we ARE, in essence. We have the power to decide everything else. This can be incredibly powerful and liberating. -

@Nomad @JevinR @Leo Gura Yes. Our purpose in life is to remember and experience who we are. That is the purpose of expression, of form, of creation. It is our ultimate gift of love. To remember and experience the beauty that we ARE. It is so powerful that it generates an internal transformation that inevitably changes the way we perceive ourselves as well as the way we perceive the people and the world around us. It is an extremely beautiful process. Enlightenment is meant to be experienced by EVERYONE, not only a few luck or special people. Humanity is finally starting to look inside instead of outside to find the truth. This is why enlightenment is accelerating. More and more people are looking inside and discovering the beauty that they ARE. This is why your question becomes very relevant and very important. There is a lot of confusion out there about what enlightenment IS and the impact it has in your life. One misunderstanding comes from the fact that most of the enlightened people we know and read about have (or are) dedicating their lives to teach others. Which is great. The problem is that now when we hear about an enlightened person we immediately assume he/she has to be a teacher. This is not necessarily true. The world needs enlightened teachers, but also enlightened fathers, mothers, executives, politicians, workers etc.. The world needs love, compassion, understanding and peace. Every single one of us needs to find this inside ourselves if we want to see this in the world. The reason is very simple. What we see outside is a reflection of what we have inside. I have to run now.. but I will be here and continue to answer any questions that come up. I'm only here to help. -

Hi @JevinR. I would say Enlightenment IS the primary (essential) life purpose of everyone. After enlightenment what remains is acceptance, gratitude, balance and compasion and a deep desire to be present and enjoy the beauty of everything that IS. This doesnt mean that you have to forget about everything else and live in a constant state of bliss. Actually doing this would mean you are in resistance and still have not accepted your humanity completly. You can be enlightened and live a normal life. You can still work, have friends, go to parties, play a sport, have a partner etc.. The difererence is that you know who you ARE in essence so you dont identify with your thought, your emotions, or your life situation although you accept and love all these things as part of who you are. You also recognize the inpermanence of form and learn to flow with what ever IS. You can dedicate your life to teach other people how to find theselves (reach enlightenment) but only if you feel like doing this. If, when and how it makes sense to you .. -

@Actualizer The trick or trigger is to change your vibration. You have to tune-in you mind and your body into the frecuency of pure love. The highest vibration. That is how your IAMness will reveal itself. -

@Deutsche22 @Leo Gura @Emerald Wilkins @99th_monkey @Galyna Everyone is at a diferent stage of development. What seems normal for someone can sound crazy for someone else. I think its important to undertand this and be sensitive to other people situation. No need to talk about this subject with people that are not interested (ready) to hear it. My strategy has been to carefully introduce the subject in one on one conversations once in a while. If people seem interested, I continue if they are not interested I just change the subject. Its important to understand that eventhough we all follow diferent paths, IN THE END, WE ALL GET TO THE SAME PLACE.. So there is no need to rush things. In time, everyone will realize their true nature.. -

@cetus56 @Emerald Wilkins in these (mini) experiences you get brief glimpses of this extended reality and yes they are VERY beautiful. @AngeArthur I think these experiences are important because they spark your curiosity, you realize there is something more to yourself and to reality. They are kind of a reminder and an invitation to look inside ! Every enlightenment is probably a bit diferent it depends on your life situation and past experience. During enlightenment what happens is that you experience (sort of become) your essential true nature. That side of you that shined a bit of light during these (mini) experiences reveals itself completly. you become IT. The level or joy and love you experience is off the charts. You kind of melt in loving tenderness and light surounds you completly. You feel as if you are becoming pure light. Its as if every cell in your body cryies in Joy and you feel deeply deeply loved and blessed. The Enlightenment experience triggers an internal transformation that can last months or probably even years. I would divide it in several fases. First fase: Is the deep deep sense of happines, completness and grace. This lasts months. Your vibration alignes with Love and compassion. That is how you vibrate all day. Second Fase: Deep emotional healing and liberation. You sort of face your past demons and all your past emotional baggage is washed out of your system. Past emotions simply cant stay inside you any longer. This is not an easy process. It is painful to face your past emotions. Fase 2 happens during fase 1. Fase 3. Remembering. You get tremendouse insights about life, humanity, the universe, nature of reality, creation etc.. In other words, you remember the original plan. The reason for everything. But its more remembering than learning. Fase 3 also happens during fase 1. Fase 4. Deepening of compasion and increase in empathy. It almost like you can read the emotional state of people. Feel tremendouse love. Fase 4 also happens during fase 1. Fase 5 Finding Balance. You start to realize that you are not meant to vibrate only like love and grace all the time. You are human also. You accept your humanity again but this time you love it and accept it completly. You kind of integrate everything. You still keep an underlying feeling of gratitude and grace that never leaves you. etc .. This is just a quick summary. Its important to understand that enlightenment is and experience but it is also a process. -

This is how I was "introduced" to spirituality .. ------- The story began many years ago when I was twelve years old. It was a beautiful afternoon, the birds were singing loud and a light breeze was touching my face. I was walking down a walkway near the beach. For some reason I felt different that afternoon. A deep peace took over and I felt very alive. I was totally aware of everything that was going on around me and time seemed to slow down. Everything stood still. And then out of nowhere it suddenly happened. I turned around and my perception deepened even further. I looked at the trees, then I slowly turned and looked at the ocean then at the mountains and finally at the sky and suddenly out of nowhere a deep knowing invaded my entire being and a phrase I had never heard before came into my mind “We are one”. Somehow I knew that I was one with everything around me. At the same time the deepest feeling of love I had experienced filled my being. The feeling was so powerful, that I just stood there with tears in my eyes completely immersed in the present moment contemplating the beauty of everything around me. This deep knowing and feeling of love only lasted a few minutes but I remained with a feeling of peace and excitement during several weeks and I never forgot that wonderful experience. -

In summary, Enlightenment is not about subtracting things from your life ! Its about adding everything there IS and them accepting it as part of who you ARE.. -
werlight replied to A way to Actualize's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
As for you questions: 1 do enlightenment not experience a wide range of emotions? Like adventures, or you feel hyped up in a concert. Big Yes ! .. enlightenment brings you closer to your feelings and emotions. All of them.. We are not here to remain in a perpetual state of bliss.. if this were the case we would of stayed were we where before we came to life. We are Human ! We are meant to experience all human emotions ! Friendship, Falling in Love, Sex, Laughter, Joy, Sadness, good and bad moods etc.. You are going through the process.. as @Leo Gura said. The goal of this fase is to drop resisitance and find balance and acceptance.. in this case trying to remain in a certain state of mind all the time.. The key is to be mindful of your own state of mind knowing and accepting that it is subject to change. That's how you let go of resistance and find peace. 2 do enlightenment people not experience the fullfilment from contibution? Since they are not identified with the material they make. When I make something on guitar, I do not feel that enthousiasm, it is just empty expression. Another Big Yes ! .. Knowing who you are doesnt mean you have to live in a cave ! Nothing in your life has to change. You dont have to quit your job, move to india, change your eating habits, or the way you speak .. etc And yes contributing to society is still a very important part of your life. And you can definetly still enjoy it. -

@A way to Actualize Hi ! Two words: Find Balance Let me share with you something I wrote when I went through the fase you are going through .. ----- Imagine yourself as a great pianist. All your life you have played what you think were all the notes in your piano. Highs and lows. And you have learned to play amazing music. When you remember who you are you become aware that your piano is much larger than you thought. You can play incredibly beautiful notes that you never even knew existed. Initially, you will want to spend as much time as possible exploring the new notes in your piano. Its normal. But don't forget the other notes. Every note is equally beautiful, not only the new ones ! Play all your notes. Fully embrace your humanity, as well as your divinity, all of who you are, and make amazing music to be enjoyed by everyone around you. Claiming we are only our spirit is as wrong as claiming we are only our body. As long as we are human we are both and both are equally important and equally beautiful. Stay close to everything that makes you human. Embrace your family and friends. Hug and kiss your loved ones, express your love and joy. This will bring you happiness and peace. Your life and everything in it, is a gift of love for you. So enjoy it ! -

@Henri Hi Henri. You are right. Many people in our life inspire us and guide us. Mothers specially. What I meant is that when I started meditating I made a decision to follow my own insincts. I decided not to follow anyone but myself. I knew I had to look inside to find the truth so thats what I did. Reading and listening to other peoples ideas is fine. I have nothing against that. I think it helps. But its easy to get lost if you listen too much to other people. You have yo follow your own heart. And you have to look inside. I know you know all this .. just wanted to clarify. Enjoy ! -
