@Leo Gura I think that's bad way to think about it. Having justice without safety is hard.
-
@Leo Gura But the question again is that which is more important in this specific scenario justice or safety. I'd even argue that when we have more safety we can focus more to justice. I mean you could do it the other way around too in some sense, but I just think fixing lower stage problems first to some degree before moving higher in the scale of problems is good thing to do. The same way as you can't make people meditate and relax when you're pointing them with the gun or they are pointing you with one. So stage green people sometimes get too carried away trying to fix some very high tier problems when we have some more important ones still unsolved. You see that?

@Razard86 Yeah, but the only point that matters when considering profiling is frequency of crimes between different groups of people. Let's say you have 2 lakes you could go to fish. Lake number 1 which has 1000 fish, but is 1000 x bigger in area than lake number 2 or lake number 2 which has 100 fish. So basically the frequency of fish in the lake number 2 is higher and therefore you'd get more fish faster when fishing there. So it doesn't matter how many fish there are, but the frequency you'll catch them. That's the point which matters when you try to find good fishing place; where you get fish more often. You got what I said?

@Tyler Robinson Exactly! That's what I was trying to express here. It's not polices fault nor failed operation if they're pointed with a gun. When that happens I think polices should immendiately shoot just for their security. If polices let suspects always act weirdly it doesn't take long and some polices are dead. We have to remember that those polices have many cases and propability to die is extremely high so that's the reason they act like they do. Shoot or you get shot. 1 + 1 = 2 I agree that there are bad apples too. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

@Leo Gura Could you finally tell me what's the problem in that clip for example. I don't see anything wrong in it from polices perspective. What's this all about?
-
@lxlichael Showing me specific clips where things fail doesn't prove anything. First of all that black man wasn't respectful and started fighting when he shouldn't and he threated the police officer and we don't know what happened in between, because the camera flew to the ground.
-
@Leo Gura Right now from the perspective that I read about it from wikipedia and don't even know what to look for I didn't find anything too problematic. It said that police officers stopped latinos and African-American people more, but what's the problem here? What are the harms that are so grandiose? As I explained; sometimes it is better to fish where the amount of fish is bigger. I don't know if something really bad happened in that program and I'd be open to hear more about it from you if you can tell me what exactly is the problem here. Yeah, as I have said it sucks for those groups of people, but sometimes it just is beneficial. For example stopping specific group people in airports seems to be beneficial or otherwise they wouldn't do it.
-
@lxlichael What you mean ;D How what I said was low quality when in actuality it was pretty well thought and written.
-
@Leo Gura I guess you clearly missed my point then. That something could be abused, but to degree that benefits outweight the harm, is not valid reason not to do something. Of course if they don't then the story is different and that's why I was asking you to to show me some type of study or explanation why it would be more harmful than it benefits. You're making youtube video about problems of lefties, if you didn't yet, and I think the mindset that "all deaths or all harm is too much" is problematic, because what ACTUALLY matters is the big picture and that's it if we're looking from society's perspective as a whole. Sometimes we have to accept the harm and as I said I don't know if that is the case in that situation so I am open for other perspectives too. Just see what I try to say, thanks.
-
@Leo Gura Of course, but as you know, the fact that something could be abused isn't the reason not to do it though. Everything can be abused and that's what people have been crying to you on this forum too; that you don't care about people suicing etc. when the actual point is that we possibly just can't prevent everything and we have to just do what works. If you can come up with clear statics or reason why we shouldn't do profiling then of course I'd agree that we shouldn't do so, but right now with the information I have I've come to the conclusion that right now it seems to be reasonable.
-
@Leo Gura Exactly! It sucks, but it is how we just get going on with society. @LSD-Rumi You don't seem to understand the point of profiling then. Profiling means choosing people to inspect by their race. It has nothing to do with treating people badly. The point just is that by the statics it is beneficial to be caution towards some group of people. Polices already are caution towards people they have reason to, but profiling is about suspecting all people in the same group and putting more resources to find criminals from that group where there are more criminals. It's just mathematics after all. Do you fish in the lake where there are more fish? I agree again that not being respectful or treating people badly for no reason is a problem though.
-
@LSD-Rumi Do you know what profiling is? Profiling by the definition is taking a group and acting differently towards the whole group in order to have an advantage in finding criminals. You can't expect to do that without doing it to the whole group, because then it wouldn't be profiling and would just be normal investigation and acting always depending on the situation. So we have to have injustice in order to do whole profiling. That's the whole point of it. That's not being racist or using racial profiling, but just individual police's operation error. That's the real problem we should focus on. We should understand the difference between racial profiling and errors in polices's work.
-
@LSD-Rumi It is problem which is feeding itself. Black people take guns to their hands faster, because they have seen polices shooting at them in videos like that which leads to polices pointing guns to them more easily. I am on the side of racial profiling though, because it just is practical in crimes overall. It is not equal, but as far as I know and can think it just is net positive to get some criminals caught more and piss some other people in returt for profiling their race. I agree with you, but could you tell me more about profiling in unracial way, because by the definition it always IS racial to some extent, but as I said it is worth anyways.

@Tyler Robinson I challenge you arresting shooting man with your psychology and spirituality .
-
@Julian gabriel Also forgot to mention that it is also way to distract one from emotional pain. To intense pain people try anything which works from booze to rope.
-
@Julian gabriel It is grounding I'd guess.
-
@OBEler It doesn't matter, because if you fuck with cops then they fuck with you. Should be taugh in elementary school and people shouldn't be surprised of that.
-
@michaelcycle00 Why can't you care about the suffering of other people even when you're the only one? The important point is to know what are your goals and if reducing seemingly happening suffering is one of them then of course you'll care about that even after realizing that there are no other people. Being "good" is wanting to feel the joy and love of helping other imaginary/real people and that's what usually makes the biggest meaning to our life. It doesn't matter if the game ain't real from the perspective of playing it and enjoying it. Just remember that all spiritual realizations should help you play this "game" better, not to destroy it.

@Leo Gura Thanks for saving my christmas, my hero. I was almost in tears when some evil forum members tried to steal my best friend from me. Happy holidays to you btw. -joNi- -

@Ulax You missed the present, it was just 9 months too late and that's why you are angry to him and biased against him. Not even santa can always be in time :D. -

@Hojo Wait ... Santa wasn't real after all? Wtf these spiritual people are radical. First they stole my sense of self and now my greatest friend. Why Leo never talked about my friend being lie -
@Danioover9000 Same thing happened in Finland. (maybe rename topic as tech-help, also Leo probably knows this thing already)

@RedLine How many buddhists suffer compared to stage orange success oriented people? Also why not combine good sides of both methods and play this life very skilled way while having spiritual background and daily practices? Key point: Don't try to join to the best team, but be friends with all of them to have all the benefits. Don't identify yourself as buddhist or achiever, but just do all the things that give you best results. Also how many stage orange business alpha men with ultimate inner suffering we needed to have one Andrew Tate?

@Tyler Robinson With all the love, as I said in the past, the only way to fix your challenges forever is to stop giving people cues to bully. What I mean by this is to act more neutrally so you aren't the middle focus of the forum. One negative side of having strong personality and having the need to express it is that you can't possibly control the reactions of others. Blocking users, even if that would be an option, is just like turning lights off so you don't see the mess that you have in the room. On the other hand I see that these are sometimes important mechanisms in order to recover from the inner chaos. Changing universe to the kind that fits to our standards is always harder than changing our playstyle and mindset about it. I am not denying that these aren't real problems that should be fixed at some point, but in the meantime we should learn to play with the "rules" that we have. For example if we can't handle lots of drama then act so you don't kind of hold "tease me sign" on your forehead. So basically the advice is to take responsibility of the things that happen to you. If you always say that things are fault of others you kind of give the control of your life away to the other people or to the will of external "gods". That can be one of the reasons you feel like you're hopeless in life, because you let the universe move you around while you're in the movement unconscious of what happens next. It's learning to see the cause and an effect in things you do. Again I am not saying that bad things didn't happen nor that they would stop happening. I am suggesting to learn to handle situations and your actions so you have better chance to get life you wanted. That's the beauty of life in some sense, because it needs to be "built" and is not given for free. I am with you on what you have experienced though. Thanks for being <3

@Breakingthewall Yeah I see why you said what you said and it makes totally sense, but as I said in my previous comments, I don't really see reason making hierarchy of awakenings, because all of them are just different experiences you could have. Every awakening is extremely deep in its own way and it could be looked as a highest from its own perspective. I see it kinda of spiritual competition that who has had the "highest" experience, but every experience should just be used for personal growth and that's it. It just depends on how you define and perceive "deep" awakening. To Leo it could be destroying your whole psyche with alien stuff. Please concider what I said before coming with counter argument. I am just trying to give one more perspective to this forum that rarely seems to be covered.
