The sun only rises according to the flat earth model. In the round earth model, the sun is in a static position relative to the earth, which revolves around it while revolving around itself. So, basically, the sun had not risen even once. How about that? Do you see how subtle assumptions are? -

This is an interesting way to articulate the issue. And even though I don't have much to add, I think it's only the tip of the iceberg. I can imagine how messing with complex systems is not an easy task, but I can't imagine how things would turn out just by changing one variable, which is why I trust the infinite intelligence and let it take care of everything. -

And yet somehow the most confusion happens with the simplest and clearest things Humans are interesting. -

@PepperBlossoms If you ever attend university or read a research paper from a highly-respected scientist, I assure you you will find a lot of what you're longing for here. The less technical words are used for the sake of simplicity in order not to confuse the kids. Kids cannot digest such complex concepts, they need them watered down. Reflect on how much effort it took you to see this new perspective, and then compare your current self with your kid-self to see the difference and how hard it is to see through the mind. -

Any system of rules. Yes. Both. But the word "corruption" deals with the explicit only. I would use the word "dishonesty" to describe the implicit form of corruption. No, unless there's a formal declaration of some rules that they're supposed to stick to. -

@PepperBlossoms You seem confused. Science does not seek knowledge. This is a story that you've been fed by your media in order to popularize science among people and give them a higher meaning for their lives. And it's a common misconception among those who haven't studied philosophy. There's a branch of philosophy called epistemology that deals with knowledge. Science is built on top of that branch and uses the foundations and concepts provided by it in order to interact with the world. Epistemology provides a framework for science to operate from. This framework is called metaphysics, and as of currently it's dominated by materialism, because survival nowadays and in the past few hundred years has been hyper-pragmatism, which fits perfectly with materialism. Modern science is not an explanation of existence. That's never what it was meant to be. Other versions of science (e.g. religion) did not have a distinction between practical science and theoretical science. Both fields were enmeshed together and treated as one. But the truth is that philosophy is the study of the nature of things, while science is the fruit of that study. Like a tree that bears fruit. -
@mememe Well, I'm not awake, so I wouldn't know.

@mememe I only partially read the introduction of that book, saw the word "spirituality", quickly threw up, then closed the book.

Those fucking hippies are driving me crazy! These know-it-all farts. Those slightly blushed faces, ugh! The stupidest things I've ever seen. Their arrogant ignorance is iconic. Like, you can't even communicate with them like a normal human fucking being because they think they are above you (just by smoking a plant or plugging a chemical), when they're in fact below protozoans and amoebas. It's absolute madness. Enough with your egoistic BS already. I don't want to get my hands dirty. Just go fucking kill your retarded selves and let me live peacefully! Your existence causes the biggest damage and is God's biggest mistake. Fuck God for creating you, if even that!

I asked you a serious question. You did not answer. You're saying that most scientists don't understand that science is imaginary, but why do they need to understand that in the first place? Science is already working pretty well, and it's even advancing as we're talking, regardless of any ontological additions. So why is your perspective important? What does it add to science? How does it enhance it? What does it matter if science is imaginary or not? -
Just saw a graffiti on my way back home that translates: "You're beautiful, like my mama's shoes."

@Leo Gura Why should a scientist understand what you're saying? -
Spirituality is all about feeling special and superior. "You are not awake."

Nobody at tier one understands the game at tier two. No spiral dynamics bs. This goes way deeper and beyond that delusional hippy wishful thinking. A pawn does not know what the king is planning or why he is planning what he's planning. Even worse, the pawn has no other explanation for its existence but the plan it was told. The pawn extracts all meaning from that plan without realizing. It's a slave, and yet, it thinks that it's free. A sucker. It cannot handle tier two. Enlightenment is peanuts in comparison.

@Mason Riggle Which is why there are concepts like: theorem, hypothesis, theory, a priori, assumption, objective, subjective, proof, evidence, etc... within science. An amateur scientist might not be aware of these concepts or their metaphysical deeper meaning or implications. That's probably because modern science is mostly focused on the practical branches on the expense of the more theoretical and fundamental ones, like philosophy and linguistics and others. I would say this bias is understandable, given our increasing need for technologies that can extract more value out of our current resources. But to throw all scientists in one category just because they don't explain these things in mainstream media is nonsense. I don't know Stephen Hawking's depth with metaphysics, but I don't assume that he's as clueless as the popular belief says around here. He's mainly done materialist science, but so what? He could have been secretly enlightened. Can't a basketball player be enlightened? -

When and where exactly did you see "science" claiming such things? -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layla_and_Majnun " Qays ibn al-Mullawah fell in love with Layla al-Aamiriya. He soon began composing poems about his love for her, mentioning her name often. His unselfconscious efforts to woo the girl caused some locals to call him "Majnun." When he asked for her hand in marriage, her father refused because it would be a scandal for Layla to marry someone considered mentally unbalanced. Soon after, Layla was married to another noble and rich merchant belonging to the Thaqif tribe in Ta'if. He was described as a handsome man with reddish complexion whose name was Ward Althaqafi. The Arabs called him Ward, meaning "rose" in Arabic. When Majnun heard of her marriage, he fled the tribal camp and began wandering the surrounding desert. His family eventually gave up hope for his return and left food for him in the wilderness. He could sometimes be seen reciting poetry to himself or writing in the sand with a stick. Layla is generally depicted as having moved to a place in Northern Arabia with her husband, where she became ill and eventually died. In some versions, Layla dies of heartbreak from not being able to see her would-be lover. Majnun was later found dead in the wilderness in 688 AD, near Layla's grave. He had carved three verses of poetry on a rock near the grave, which are the last three verses attributed to him. Many other minor incidents happened between his madness and his death. Most of his recorded poetry was composed before his descent into madness. I pass by this town, the town of Layla And I kiss this wall and that wall It’s not Love of the town that has enraptured my heart But of the One who dwells within this town "
