  1. It's a post-modernist video myopically trying to undermine whatever JP is about.
  2. Sounds like something JP would say Anyway, I can confirm the general concept. I have come to this conclusion too.
  3. And it's not silly at all to assume that you have the right political position.
  4. Can you link something here? Anything would be good, but maybe you could personalize the picking for me, like what you would think I need to hear
  5. I'm not sure about this, but maybe it is the case for Americans. I didn't have a role model growing up, and still kinda don't. I find Jordan Peterson to be full of shit to be honest. I don't know why he's famous or if anyone actually benefits from listening to his nonsense. He has a couple good insights, and even those he often doesn't communicate very well. I find his style all over the place, which should mean that I'm not understanding what he's saying, but I don't think he has much to offer, so he keeps going round and round in circles beating around the bush, while rarely ever hitting it.
  6. Lol. I don't think getting your mind ripped with heavy cognitive tasks has that many benefits.
  7. Depression, neurosis, OCD, anxiety, delusions, mania, you name it. How did I get rid of them? Lol.
  8. More memories...
  9. These two songs remind me of the 9th grade. I remember when I was not allowed to play video games and so I would cheat on my parents when I'm alone at home and supposed to be studying, and then play FIFA08, UEFA Euro 2008, Mario64, and some Harry Potter game, probably The Order Of The Phoenix at the time. Video games were a serious addiction for me, and being forbidden made me want to play even more. Here, the 9th grade is kind of a big deal, so naturally my parents placed too much importance on it and created certain rules for studying to reward me with video games afterwards. I did great and scored 96.12% in the final exam. But I was not allowed to play during the exams. So, the desire started getting bigger and bigger, it started creating energy inside me. The way I used to outlet that energy was by dancing to these two songs above. Eventually the exams ended and I returned home as fast as I could just to run my PC and start playing, I thought I was gonna find some sort of heaven while playing for hours finally, but I was surprised that I got bored very quickly after only a couple of hours. It was my first mystical insight so to speak, when I realized how empty all of the longing was. I felt cheated by myself this time. Still, 2009 was a great year, I used to watch a lot of trending video songs on TV purely for the hot women in there, but some of the songs stuck and I liked them. Live Your Life by Rihanna, Fire Burning by Sean Kingston, Eenie Meenie by Justin Bieber, and others. It was the golden age for music back then, up until 2012 and Gangnam Style, which set the trend for sucky music. There's rarely any good music anymore.
  10. Awakening is not the same as mental illness. They are two very distinct things, even though they can co-exist and overlap. As well, awakening is not the same as spirituality. There are probably countless types and subtypes of awakenings that you can experience. Basically, any insight you have is an awakening. In that sense, spirituality is only a very specific type of awakening, which is why it's called spiritual awakening. You awaken to the spiritual realm, as in you realize the limitations of materialism in explaining reality, and you start seeing potential in different ways of thinking. But you don't turn into a spirit or a ghost, so you're still living in the material world with everyone else. You can even gain insights into mental conditions through awakening if you happen to experience both, and that's not very uncommon in my experience. The problem with mental illnesses is that they tend to send you to a different realm than this realm, but you're still somehow partially stuck in this realm, so you're split between two or more realms. And at least one of these realms is usually a rabbit hole that takes up most of one's faculties so that it appears to the person experiencing it as very significant and relevant and worth exploring, while draining them and dragging them down out of the material realm. The difference between altered states of consciousness and mental conditions is that the altered states are often temporary and recovery is the rule, while the opposite is the case with mental conditions. The thing is that both of them are induced by applying stress on the brain and they can look very similar sometimes, but mentally ill people seem to be more sensitive to stress than the rest, this is probably mostly genetic and childhood-trauma-related. Now let's consider spiritual people who claim that telepathic abilities are real. This is clearly delusional. And the reason is that they fail to prove their claims in the material realm, there is dissonance. It's irrelevant what they feel or experience, or think they experience. The truth is that they're confused and unable to distinguish between their thoughts and reality. A person who believes in telepathy is often stuck on this belief, and you can't really reason with them. The same with pretty much every other belief/delusion. And the catch is that those who are actually confused often don't recognize that they're confused, even though they might have realized it at some point. The confusion is so deep and inherent, it doesn't distinguish between clarity and confusion. This is not the case with awakening, even though it might be involved in it at some point. But let's also consider this, a nerdy math scientist who believes that mathematics is really significant and can somehow explain the universe. This is also delusional. Such people are often obsessive and compulsive, they don't have any breaks set on their minds, which is unhealthy according to mental health standards, and they don't really understand the big picture of what they're doing. They experience eureka and aha moments, and can even experience a Satori and mental orgasms from solving a long-stuck mathematical equation. But society feeds this kind of delusions because it feeds off of it because it proved to create material/survival value. The movie called A Beautiful Mind might be a good illustration of this point. It challenges the boundaries society has set between genius and mentally ill, and it shows how the only criteria for health in today's world is productivity.
  11. Life is an abusive experience, since you're always exposed and interacting with the external world. And for that reason, personal development is simply the act of seeking the best coping mechanisms possible.
  12. Awakening impacts your cognition positively, and it adds more clarity to your life. The opposite with mental illnesses.
  13. Lol. Probably they were looking out for you. This kind of threads is like a troll magnet, and you have a history.
  14. I wanted to say something, and then I read the first comment and saw it written there already. Then I thought of something else and saw it written after that. I give up.
  15. About 98.39% happy. Voted with the first option.
  16. Hard times force you into your true colors. Talk is cheap. You can say whatever you want during easy times, that's meaningless and it don't count. I don't approve of anyone who claims enlightenment unless they're tested over and over again all the time, which does not really happen, so nobody ever who claims enlightenment is actually enlightened. I can sit here and philosophize about death all day, it means nothing, because I know that when my time will be up, I will panic like a motherfucker. Fear of death is what keeps us alive, but just the right amount. Too much fear is paralyzing. And no fear at all is dangerous, which is why we don't see fearlessness, because fearless people die quickly (suicide, martyrdom, etc.). Control is made of fear. The more control you think you have, the more fearful you will be. But fear is not necessarily a bad experience. The ego-mind is a genius and it can create positive experiences out of fear. For example, love is just a twisted form of fear. It is the opposite of what Leo says; He is delusional, and everyone that agrees with him. Psychedelics are not a portal to truth or God. They're a portal to delusions and the devil. Fear is the source of everything. Accept it. Accept the truth. Nothing will change, and that's okay.
  17. @Nahm That time you said "I think" I knew something was not quite right. Glad you recovered!

  19. Not just mental. What is health in general? Is there even such a thing? How do we define a disease? By loss of functionality? Pain? Malformation? Mismatch/Incompatibility? Or some or all of them? It's very hard to come up with answers, because any answer is always static while reality is dynamic. Plus, even if some answers may initially seem intuitive and make sense, we can always deconstruct them so that they stop making sense and seem weird afterwards.
  20. Kinda irrelevant piece of info, though, because obviously nobody claimed otherwise. The claim is that westerners could not remove racism and are somehow still propagating it out to parts of the world where it was removed. Kinda like when you don't take the covid vaccine and then go out to spread the virus to other healthy people and then say that you did not invent the virus. Well, who the fuck cares?! Just stop the contagion where it's at and let others stay healthy.
  21. @Epikur Arabs are NOT the same as Muslims. Arabs can be racist, but Muslims can't. Anti-racism comes with Islam as a one package deal, and if you ask any serious Muslim they will tell you right off the bat that every Muslim is equally a servant to Allah, regardless of color or ethnicity. If you happen to see a Muslim "on paper" saying that a certain race is superior, then it's very likely coming from western trends and ideologies such as nationalism, because many of the modern "Muslims" tend to copy whatever westerners do/think. Most of the Arabic TV production culture is not Islamic in any way, and yet it's thought of as Islam because of this confusion between Arabs and Muslims. The blackface thing for example is a western concept and it's not even as common as you'd imagine in Arabic media because it's not popular. Now enough with the nonsense and try-hard examples. None of the examples you provided say anything about racism in Islam. If anything, they demonstrate a mild degree of bias against people of color in some Arabs, which is not necessarily systemic by the way. However, even if I give you that, it's still not actual full degree racism, and the reason is because Islam is still predominant in the Arab world and has not yet disappeared. Show me clear-cut racism cases like the George Floyd case in the Arab world, or show me any slight bias against people of color under the Taliban government or the like, and then we can talk.
  22. Al-Jazeera is like the most agenda biased news channel of all time. They lied to my face about things I experienced and saw with my own eyes in the past. And they're lying here as well. They always twist the truth to fit their agendas. Their news has no credibility whatsoever to me, and I don't have respect for their documentaries. I'll have you informed that we have a number of exchange students from Sudan in the university I'm in right now, and they're treated with nothing but respect. I never even thought about them that way until now. Lol. That dude got arrested. What more do you want?
