  1. You can try to abstract away from the thing itself by rooting for certain values instead of the outcome that you want. Fundamentally, what needs to happen is that you should focus your attention on the principles, not the results. That way you will not be threatened directly at least. Ideally, identity should be based in higher values than your self. Also, detachment of outcome while moving towards it is possible. Paradox does not mean impossibility, though it might make it more challenging to achieve. This is easier when you have higher values.
  2. In Islam, there are certain times that are considered special. One of them is before the dawn, around the 3:40 that Sadhguru is talking about. It is believed that Allah descends down from the highest heaven to listen and answer to his servants' prayers. Personally, I don't feel that special connection at that specific time, but the time before the sunrise seems to work well for me, and it's also considered a special time in Islam. There are a handful of special times spread out during the day and night, and other special times during the year, like the month Ramadan for fasting and the great holidays.
  3. Yeah, I'm sure he thinks all that on the fly. Come on, dude. Just because the guy has a beard and is well-known does not make him a God. If I say something more complicated and nuanced, you will probably assume simplicity and only look for superficial meaning regardless of my words. And if you have a problematic history with me, you will automatically assume devilry and mischief even if I'm saying good stuff that could benefit you.
  4. Haha! This is cool! Here's me:
  5. I'll just leave this here: You're your own guru.
  6. It could be, I don't know. But for me, it seems spontaneous. When I am sleeping at that time, I often have vivid dreams, whereas the default mode for me is no dreams. I think that confirms that it is spontaneous.
  7. Intent is indeed important, but it doesn't invalidate in any way the difference between times of the day. What I find fishy about Sadhguru's explanation is that it's very vague spiritual jargon that you could not possibly make any sense of it or utilize it in any sort of meaningful way. For me personally, I usually experience peak consciousness levels between 5 and 6 AM, depending on the time of year. So that's valid. The reasoning behind it is still in question for me, and Sadhguru didn't give me anything useful to work with. I am speculating that it might have something to do with cortisol levels, since there's a morning spike that happens everyday. This is merely speculation of course, but at least it's scientific. https://www.risescience.com/blog/cortisol-and-sleep
  8. I am telling you the absolute truth. But you don't understand it cuz you're not enlightened. Do not doubt or argue with me. Take it as a fact, with open-mindedness, cuz I know more than you. Go and sit under the moon for 12 days and a half, then come back and maybe you will understand. For the initiated, they need to sit under the sun when it's 15% cloudy for 54 days and 3 hours.
  9. A lot of people don't understand that most of spirituality/religion thrives on the ignorance of stage Blue audience and the naïve open-mindedness of the stage Green one. Without those two, most spiritual/religious teachers would be out of business.
  10. This is a very common stage Blue/Orange tactic. Muslim preachers (Imams) do that all the time, and nobody dares to question them or call them out, cuz they're the established authority by Allah. There's a cool Indian movie on this very subject called PK.
  11. I would say that the false positives are a lot more common than the false negatives, especially at the highest levels. But even the false positives are not that many at the highest levels, so that makes the false negatives really rare. Personally, I only know a couple of people (besides myself) that are barely tier 2. How many tier 2 people that you know personally?
  12. It is not correct to say that time exists, because it doesn't. The word "existence" implies perception. On the other hand, time is an abstract concept. We can think about it, but not perceive it. When we lose thought of time, we often refer to that experience as eternal now, timelessness, God, or something like that.
  13. @Carl-Richard Cool! Thanks for sharing.
  14. It's really hard to state something about nothing. I honestly try to think of some way to speak about these kinds of topics, but nothing seems anywhere near perfect. Any attempt that I might make will probably only hinder the outcome that I'm trying to create within the other person. It's like if I spell out the answer, it will become wrong the moment I speak it. So what I eventually end up doing is making suggestions and leaving the rest up to the gods.
  15. I don't know what time it is for everyone, but for me it's between 5 and 6 AM. My consciousness feels very different at that time. I experience an increased lucidity and expansion of state. I'd first noticed that phenomenon a few years back, but didn't give it much attention. But it's still happening till this day. Though, it does not happen in any other time in the day or night. And I don't know any possible explanations. I will see the video, maybe there's something there. EDIT: Nope. Bullshit explanation.
  16. We don't even know if he'd actually had a cat. He only posted a picture of a cat with some lamentation text, and another artistic picture of a strange-loop of a cat and a ball of yarn. That's it, and now people think he had a cat that died and all that. Doesn't look like much has changed if you ask me.
  17. Spiritual Dick. Man, I just love the internet!
  18. @Someone here Thanks. That was a refreshing mental masturbation session for me. I'll now return to my little solipsistic meditative bubble and stop arguing. I'll also admit that your spiritual dick is bigger than mine if that makes you happy. Cheers! @Alexander1 ???
  19. That's because you are using language in a problematic way without knowing. It is true that I am currently in the present moment. But it is also true that I was in the past, and will be in the future. I can use different tenses of the verb to be, and all of them will make sense. You are simply being linguistically racist in favor of the present tense against all other tenses, that's all. To make the point clearer, I could tell you that you will not be in the present moment, or that you never were in the present moment, because you are already in the present moment. It's just a language game. And you're just a noob. Sorry.
