Maybe you are meditating too 'hard' thinking it is supposed to be a big thing.

Now, there are lesser and more advanced meditation techniques. I have had OBE's while doing Qigong and Krya yoga.. But, really, be honest with yourself why you are doing what you are doing.

What you mean by meditating too hard? Is there some criteria of what not to do or how much to do in spiritual practice like meditation?

How can I learn kriya yoga?

  2. I am now unable to progress. It feels like their is some veil that need to be surpassed. There is complete cessation of breath.

Recently during my meditation I feel pressure in my head. Like my face is crushed by some unknown force. There is surge of vibration on my face. Not in the sense of something uncomfortable.

I want to surrender everything. But my breathing completely stops.

    How can I have OBE?

  3. @Bodhitree I heard that they completely mistranslated the real teachings of geeta and presented it in the form of some abrahmic cult.

Several hindus are opposing it. As they are preaching it as monotheistic version of hinduism by discarded every other scriptures. They are spreading the wrong teaching of hinduism in west .

Hinduism core is advaita vedanta /Upanishads. And Isckon completely deny non dual teachings of it.

  4. Whats your view on hare krishna cult that is being spread by Iskcon.

It feels like monotheistic version of hinduism where lord krishna is preached among masses by Iskcon as Supreme God Head.

They refer Krishna is only true God . And surrender to him to get liberated from cycle of birth and death.

Iskcon is spreading this cult in West. Specially in america they are establishing their base . I have seen Iskcon distributing Bhagwat Geeta to all people.

Hinduism being a Polytheistic religion has diverse beliefs and is divided into different sects .

Isckon founder prabhupada rejects Non dualism theory of advaita vedanta. And says Krishna is only true God . And is responsible for the creation of universe and all humans.

What's your view on this cult?

They are brainwashing people and converting them by propagating false dogmas.

They are biased and rejects other hindu scriptures such as veda and upanishads.

And claim bhagwag geeta is only true.

I think they are trying to convert Western people to new religion based on strict monotheism which has Lord Krishna as Supreme God who created this universe.

Christians are attracting more towards the honey coat teachings of it. Without even mentioning what actually is written in hindu scriptures .

I think they want to convert all christians in hinduism. What's your view on this?

Also they discourage their followers to have rational approach towards their teaching. They dont want people to question their scriptures.

You will never figure out what God is through language.  The mind just endlessly spins.  Worship and rituals are actions which communicate through feelings.  Zen goes beyond both.  The religions aren’t as dump as the modernists think they are.  They have been around thousands of years for a reason.

Do you think it is right to give form to something which is inconcievable and is nothingness?

    And that too human form?

There’s the ‘God of the gaps’ theory. That people use God as a gap filler for what they don’t understand. There’s also the theory it started with worshipping the sun. There’s the one that religion was invented to control the masses. Also a lot of people have faith, and or heavy cultural conditioning and don’t give it a second thought. Are people believing in a God, or  God be lieving in people?   We’ll never know.

Yes , in hinduism too it started with worshipping sun, thunder, planets, air, fire , wind etc in the form of persons during vedic period (5000 year ago).

There was yājna (fire rituals) which used to happen to please gods to bring rains , good yield of crops etc

Then after decline of vedic period new gods got introduced . And their stories in scriptures how they lived on earth doing all sort of things like engaging in fights, chopping heads of another god , monkeys flying , shapeshifting monkeys, time stopping, teleportation , people getting born from fish , river or fire , fights between gods and anti gods ( asuras or demons) etc etc.

This lead to worshipping of gods using idols which is happening till this date.

<quote> If someone worships some mythological figure then will they ever know the Absolute Truth. </quote>

@machiavelli If he/she really worships them thinking of them as god(s), then no, they will not know the underlying realities.

If it's just a mere practice, like some east Asian masters did with buddha, making an idol of him to embody what he tried to teach. If they make an idol and use it as a signpost for themselves and others, it's less of a problem. The scent-sticks and the fire and the bells and the good food are for YOU, not for a stone.

But it rarely happens. Even in West and Middle east, all house of worships are made to propagate dogmas. You don't find peace in churches, mosques, temples, synagogues. Only fear that if you don't do what the God advised, you are in big trouble. In east asia, it's less predominant, but it's not pure either.

Let me tell you a secret.

Out of all the major/minor religions, only a few  have reached the end of spirituality. The list goes like :

    -Gautam Buddha

-Some unknown sages from the late Vedic period.

-Some east Asian Zen/Buddhist masters like Bodhidharma, Jianzhi Sengcan etc.

    -Lao Tzu

What is common in all of them?

All of them were Godless Atheists lmao. In some cases, ignorant people attached god and concept of a god with their teachings.

You might say that there is a lot of truth in Bible, Quran, Torah, Gita, Scriptures etc. Except there isn't. Not to say they are completely false, but they haven't reached the end. Half Knowledge.

@FoolsGold  @Gesundheit2 We have bhagwat gita and its potrays Krishna as supreme God who created everything. We also have verses which says surrender in me you will achieve moksha or liberation.

    I am mountain , I am everything,

This reality is created by me. And all castes are created by me.

Now Indians rever Gita with great respect and blindly follow it. But I found it completely delusional. It potrays Krishna as some sky being having magical powers who created this universe and is only true god.

ISKCON propagate this nonsense now all over the world . Even in america they started deluding people.

People act like GITA is ultimate truth and is solution to every human problem.

But in my opinion it only confuses the already deluded masses who worship idol of him.

People will say all sorts of things like how good is idol worship and if you ask any hindu why he is doing so. He will reply " We dont worship idol ; we worship remainder of god in idol ". Like man seriously?? Why dont you worship stones, wood, trees, etc etc if god resides in everything.

Why to delude already confused people to buy into some mythical god who should be worshiped using idol and will bestow blessings upon you.

If triangles had a God he would have 3 sides.

Ego sees the world according to itself.

@Leo Gura Leo we need you to make a video on religion describing the trap on how it makes them stuck in illusion of some man made gods.

How can people liberate themselves when they think that the god they pray daily using idols is created by man?

They get offended when we say something about their religion.

You need to make it clear how to identify religious dogma from real GOD which is infinite and formless.

@machiavelli have you seen the Gods depicted in Hinduism?

    @Breakingthewall @Adrian325

I am a hindu. We have such a volmunious mythology and gods that you cant even comprehend.

We have stories how god onced lived on earth doing all sorts of absurd things .

We have a story where a god chopped off head of his son born from clay. As his wife got angry that he had killed his son she insisted him to to make him alive again. So the god went and searched for a head. He found an elephant during searching. He put elephant's head over his son body and he got alive.

We have all sorts of mythical stories like monkeys flying , shape shifting demons , sanskrit speaking birds and animals , people getting born from fish , 10 headed humans , teleportation, people getting born from fire , gods stopping the time, gods getting angry and creating havoc on earth etc etc

Hinduism states that brahma created the universe and all living beings.

Vishnu sustains the universe and all its forces.

    Shiva destroys the universe .

Together they are called trinity and is BRAHMAN .

We have hundreds of gods mentioned in our scriptures.

    More than 70 avatars .

God for each and everthing . Like god of lust called kamadev , god of air vayu devta , god of thunder, god of fire called agni devta ,etc etc.

We have a story how sages cursed god living on earth .

Now what to make up from all this?

Where is the source of some getting liberated? When all are worshipping these gods using idols and think them they live in sky.

    And created humans.

  10. @Ora I like buddhist teaching. And find them close to what great religions free from dogmas should be.

Whats your view on people worshipping mythological gods using idols? Dont you find giving form to infinite god which cant be comprehend by human mind absurd?

It only delude people by attaching them to some human figure which they think created the universe and lives in sky.

Created in God's IMAGEination is a better translation in my opinion. Though "in" would imply relation to "other" which doesn't truly exist.

Also, we shouldn't criticize others and how their wish to perceive God. In the grand scheme of things, they are not wrong, nor are they absolutely correct.

How can a person reach enlightenment when his quest to ultimate Truth is ended by some religion which preach a skybeing created this universe including all humans.

And to worship that sky being using idols.

Buddhism says there is no God. It would be more correct to say why do some religions interpret God to be humanoid.

Hinduism has monkey god hanuman, kali 8 arms, a formless brahma.

Buddhism recognizes the existance of devas which are humanoid beings but extremely beautiful making the most beautiful earthlings "look like a she-ape." So perhaps all mystics of the past saw or remembered lives as devas and thought those were godly beings because they were so much more beautiful and grand than us humans. So they had glimpses of higher realms, but without penetrating knowledge of the Truth mistook them for "God."

Buddha admitted the existence of higher dimensional beings but he said they are not worthy of worship as they too are entangled to samsara and reincarnation.

Brahma has form. He has three heads . Its brahman who is formless .

By definition God is Infinity and is everything. Nothing exist except god. So god is universe/multiverse , birds, mountain, stones, walls, trees, curtains etc

So why we limit him in finite form when he is formless and infinite.

If “for you God is everything”, what is “this other stuff” you are asking about, which is not you?

That is the answer. ‘They’… are doing… what ‘you’… are doing… right now.

I am not talking about my perspective here. I am concerned behind the pyschology of people why they made god in his image?

    Why they form a cult?

Why they ask to do idol worshipping? And claim these finite forms created this universe and them.

  14. Why all major religions like chritianity , hinduism , Shinto, Greek Mythology etc thinks god looks like human and must be worshipped using idols. Why they form cult and spread the delusion of some sky being with their stories in their scriptures how they are involved in all sort of questionable things.

    what about aliens?

why dont they make god look like alien.

They all act like they figured out the ultimate mystery of god.

Why they want to limit God which is infinite, formless, omniscient, omnipotent and all knowing to a supernatural being who have hands and legs. What about trillions of other extraterristial alien civilizations spread across different universes whose shape is completely unimaginable by humans. Are they not god?

Why humans have tendency to make hundreds of gods to worship using images and idols .

For me god is everything. God is even animals and birds.

why the religion like greek , hinduism , shinto etc etc advacate the belief to worship god in human form?

@machiavelli Sounds from what you are describing as the ninth jhana cessation. The breathing does not completely stop but it decreases in frequency. But it might feel that way.

    See more info here:

    https://www.dhammawiki.com/index.php?title=9_Jhanas

    Fear is the doorway.

@WelcometoReality Yes , I have experienced the states where there was hardly any breathing. It feels scary as I have thoughts that I will feel be unconsciousness due to it. There is complete ceastion of everything around my body.

    Feels like complete stillness .

  16. I had been meditating since more than a year now. My experiences are getting deeper and deeper. I am able to reach such states where there is hardly any conscious breathing going on. I feel scared that I will die . As the more deeper it gets it feels like everything is dissolving .

Yesterday I had a deep experience where during meditation I felt my consciousness is not in my body. Like body is separate and consciousness is separate.

I wanted to go more deeper but I feel anxiety that I will die and what will happen to my family afterwards.

It feels like I will leave my body.

But I want to go more deeper. As I surrender to every thought and every sensation I go more deeper into the the oblivion and it feels like I am Home again.

Like this world is mere a figment of imagination of consciousness .

I want to surrender everything . But anxiety is preventing me . My breathing suddenly completely stops. Due to which I feel anxiety that I can die. And therefor I am not able to go more deeper now.
