  1. I have been using windows machines for over 15 years, both laptops and stationary. I have had same struggles and frustrations very often. Switching to mac has been the best choice I have ever made in this domain. I have bought the 2021 M1 pro MacBook Pro and the difference compared to any Windows alternative is night and day. If you have the budged, the mac is worth trying out. I have gotten used to the OS and find it to be very beautifully designed. The machine itself is superb and outperforms Windows laptops in battery life, screen quality, overall built quality, speakers, ease of use and intuitiveness, ability to run multiple demanding apps. The only regret I have about it is that it was no longer able to run the Microsoft Office 2010 version, which I have used for keeping my Commonplace book. However, there's a OneNote for mac that also does the job, and I have gotten used to it. Other than that, all my favourite apps run on Mac. For the record, I don't recommend using Linux for personal use. It's great if you're a software developer, but not so much if you're a regular user or creative. You risk having endless driver issues and much less user friendly OS. I hope this helps.
