The term is good for walking people up to their situation, but no judgment should be cast.

My mushroom trip has suggested that I was like a Jaguar in the bush, sneaking up behind myself. and now I am charging like a muscle car. Keep your spirits up, my friend. There is intelligence in your design.

Give all your money away. Then money will motivate you

I also have no friends, and need to pretend to be Catholic to keep the peace in my family?

I can relate. I recently got a job working concrete construction in hot sun 8.5hour day + 2 hours commuting. I would say I feel a noticeable decrease in my overall well-being. ? my hope is trying to live cheap enough to save money so I can have the chance to maybe quit for a while and see if I can make it in a better way. Maybe if I go to Mexico I can live off my savings longer to develop a skill or a business. It’s tough to figure this stuff out. i like teaching people things so maybe I will get a job as a tutor and work on myself in my free time but that could be a dead end. maybe I will take courses to get a tech job, but no guarantees I will get hired. Business seems like a foggy notion to me, but maybe I will stumble on some ideas. maybe I will go back to school on a loan and pursue a more serious career track. maybe something will open up, opportunity wise. I want to consult the mushrooms (small dose) I keep the idea of monk hood/yoga devotee as an “if all else fails” option. Another bail out is living off gov, faking injuries. Or joining a commune, or living homeless but happy(maybe?)?

I was selling my car because I needed to move quickly due to Covid. I used Craigslist to sell it. The guy who showed up to buy it looked at the engine and told me about a problem that it had and said “oh! I knew it, typical east coast engine problem”. He went into a detailed explanation of the problem, and pointed to parts. he wanted the car for about $600 less than the agreed price, and showed me an injury on his arm and said “look, this is a bullet hole because I was a cop. I wouldn’t lie to you”. I sold it to him and he was supposed to mail me back the license plates but he never did. looking back, 95% certain he was full of shit. lesson: just because people act like they know more than you and flaunt authority doesn’t mean they do. It may even be a clear sign they are BSing.

Jesus supposedly said "When you strip without being ashamed, and you take your clothes and put them under your feet like little children and trample them, then you will see the child of the living one and you will not be afraid." "When you walk into another country and the people receive you, eat what they give you and heal their sick, for it is not what goes in your mouth that will defile you, but what comes out of it that will defile you." We know self-actualization works, starting a business works, pickup works, life purpose works, shopping at Whole Foods works. In a sense it is the safe bet to slowly, incrementally improve your life. What happens when people follow what earth's greatest teachers have recommended, like not worrying for the morrow, and take it seriously? When they demand nothing from life, and seek to give, out of a strong sense of faith. They might have a life purpose or might not, but before all else, enact the above and similar teachings. Do they become truly fulfilled or do they just sort of plateau? Please share any case studies or examples if you have them. Thanks!

One thing is if you become an RA you can possibly get free housing. It was like that at my college. You will prob need to wait til sophomore year to do that

Your debt won’t matter much if you come out with a high-paying job. I wouldn’t take on debt unless I saw myself on track to a high-paying, secure job.

Here’s an option: Get a refund for your plane ticket or cancel it. Your friends are probably going to make it way harder for you to get on your feet. They will distract you and pull you into alcohol, possibly drugs, and time wasting buffoonery. Miami sounds fun on the beach and stuff but it won’t be the place of your dreams. Not until you earn it at least. negotiate with family or with relatives to stay with them for as little money as possible, in the most sane/quiet house available to you. Get a part time job if that will cover your expenses, or a full time job if you must. Focus daily your free time on developing a valuable skill. This is something you are interested in, but it doesn’t have to be your Life Purpose. The requirement is that it must be practical enough to earn you a good job that you will enjoy. Make sure you are able to advertise your skill to employers in a well-planned out way. Know what they are looking for and cater to it. spend limited time with your friends and do not let them drag you into alcohol, drugs or partying. You can’t afford to be distracted like that if you do this. It is better to find friends who do not drink so that you can have people to relate to so you are not too lonely. Don’t get caught up on dating either. your goal is to get a good paying enjoyable job using the skill you earned. Aim to move out of your parents house with this job by about 2 years from now. other things to do with your free time is read booklist books, contemplate your life and meditation habit. don’t go down a spiritual enlightenment rabbit hole that will distract you from building your skill. That is way too advanced to focus on. with this job you can move to a city you like, and begin socializing more, maybe practicing dating, learning new things, experiences and skills. You can learn more about business and consider working toward starting one. If you have a remote job you may also travel while you work. warning: this option takes a tremendous amount of commitment, hard work, discipline and integrity. Don’t underestimate it. ———————————— with that option out there, I’m not telling you to not go to college. You must assume full responsibility for your decisions. I don’t know you or how you feel. Use your own god-given intelligence to figure out your life. College should be something you give fair consideration to. good luck, and know that you are always in good hands. also, keep asking questions. This stuff is har to figure out on your own.

Would you have to take on student loans or would college be paid for? if you’d need to take on debt it is a bit more complicated. What were you going to study on college? Was that linked to a career path? the point of Leo’s video is to pitch to you the idea of using your resources and time wisely to set you up for Life Purpose and starting your own business or having your dream career if it already exists out there. yes, working just any job to pay rent is likely a bigger time and energy suck than going to college. There are other upsides to college too. I don’t know your interests but there are good resources for serious business students to spend time working on business while in college. again, taking out loans by yourself complicates things.

I have to soon explain my beliefs to my Catholic family. What I want to get across to them is basically: I believe in god, but I don’t believe god hands out merits to people who follow rules. I don’t believe God sends people to hell, people don’t have to dodge the devil, and don’t even need to follow rules. God made our nature good. God also doesn’t have a gender. -

Maybe join a yoga ashram. Then you can bliss out doing yoga and don’t even have to think about enlightenment. -
I feel sort of afraid of this whole business thing. I’m still brainstorming ideas and it makes me anxious. is business supposed to be fun? is it serious if you fuck up or are you supposed to? what is a good psychology to have in business?
-
I’ve not, but it’s good to see you have maintained optimism/sense of humor, because it doesn’t seem like an impossibility for me. You ever thought of going to a hippie Commune? Also, the concrete construction company I work for hires people without experience, ID, citizenship, or a lick of English. I assume they aren’t the only ones.
-
yeah. it seems reasonable that many of my ideas will not work. I’ll probably be like one of those dog simulations trying to teach itself how to walk? You mean the business dies, right??

Yeah yellow is quite a lone wolf, doesn’t hang out in cliques much and rather rare. Idk what age group you are looking for but they tend to be older people also because young stage yellow is very rare. sometimes university professors (philosophy and theology department is probably best bet for finding one) can be a good bet or independent philosophers and researchers maybe. some physchologists or coaches can be. Maybe libraries, book stores or if there is an event or seminar where the topic is something interesting to stage yellow people, maybe even a quirky topic. I’d put my own center of gravity at high stage orange, low stage green, even though I’ve been following actualized for years. if young people have yellow it is usually mostly just their cognition being somewhat yellow, not even fully in most cases. If you really want to dive into Yellow then don’t be afraid to be a lone wolf and have more occasional interactions with yellow people. If you want to have a fun social life, green will get the job done s as long as they are pretty mature, not this sort of phony college student stage green where blue and orange are demonized. I actually walked into MIT, climbed the ivory tower looking for Chomsky, but when I got to his office, they told me he moved to University of Arizona. ? NOOOOOAAAAAAAAMM!!!

ROOBIO might not be real but you seem to be acting as if they are. -
I bet you would feel that? I was like, oh let me do a social experiment and take .5g Magic mushrooms and see how I interact with my fellow employees at whole foods. My job was to find items on the shelf and put them bags. I hardly knew what isle I was in, never mind the food.? I’m glad I didn’t get fired. my advice is make sure that is a low dose for you, whatever that is. also make sure you do a test run solo with no responsibilities to get your dose right. It needs to be that you have basically no perceived effect if you want to be able to function really well.

@Matt23 right. My initial motivation was fear of wage slavery. not ideal. now I’m seeing the possibility of fun and creativity entering the picture. I want to work on my psychology to have positive motivation.

I’m learning from this thread. I think plenty of is have a similar issue.? -
Each stage has healthy and toxic manifestations. Each person will demonstrate both aspects to lesser and greater extents.

I would recommend you put the energy you would invest to be good at poker into a creative endeavor.

When you realize how beautiful a tree really is you will want to kiss it too. I don’t know hardly anything about Daniel. -

If you ask around you’ll see that most people who are not denying climate change are quite worried about it and do want a solution. the question, I think, is which among us are going to exercise bravery in order to be a leader. A leader in the sense of demonstrating a new ethic. Not only recycling their plastic bottles or trying to get policy makers to change policy, but literally living like a large percentage of us would all need to live in order to reach true sustainability. this is a bold change. But it is best seen as an opportunity exclusive to our times to stand up for something big, live with a strong integrity, and be a conscious leader. This is not something we should force on people, but something that, when demonstrated, could be so epic in a sense that it touches people and inspires them toward a similar calling if their heart is ready for it. This idea comes from the book “conversations with God” book 4 by Neale Donald Walsch hard to do it justice here
