  1. We got some Viking blood here in South Africa also, they only play rugby tho
  2. Don't worry, with the Psilocybe cubensis I thought I was having a psychotic break. I really did feel like an alien being. (I wish you would release a video on alien intelligence, and shut the naysayers up) All I'm saying about Jim is this: with a permanent cessation of the separate sense of self, what barriers are left
  3. I have had those types of experiences when taking 4 grams of Psilocybe cubensis. I admit, not on the levels I have heard you describe. But we can't live in those states permanently though. I think what is interesting about Jim, and quite rare, is that his sense of separate self has fallen away permanently. Which is why he says that This is not an experience. He seems to be pointing to something beyond a mystical state.
  4. Are you talking about peak mystical states ?
  5. Wow, that's an interesting way of looking at it, I never thought of it like that.
  6. Not sure what you mean, I was simply pointing out that people tend to think that if they let go of their notions of good and bad, that they might end up doing a whole bunch of bad things without caring. It doesn't seems to work like that though in my experience.
  7. I was speaking in general terms.
  8. The mistake is to think that letting go of morality will turn you into a person who acts in immoral ways. Quite the opposite.
  9. It seems to be a really effective way of pointing out the futility of seeking, ie not giving the individual anything to hold on. And thus allowing for the unravelling of the separate sense of self at quite a rapid rate.
  10. Who says that what Jim is talking about doesn't include the ordinary and the extraordinary ? I think there's actually more similarities between what you and he are saying than you might think. Radical nonduality seems to link up nicely with solipsism.
  11. Interesting interview with a philosophy student.
  12. Starts at around the 4min mark.
  13. You kinda need to see through maya first to realize that, right ?
  14. I could be wrong, but has neuroscience not somehow proved that freewill is somehow an illusion, ie we think we are the thinker, but actually ultimately thoughts are just happening. Life is happening automatically by itself, ie we not in control.
  15. In a sense is all of life not actually happening impersonally and automatically like this ?
  16. I'm not sure I'm getting the point here. Please can you say a bit more ?
  17. Im not speaking in koans. When the sense of seperate self loses all momentum (it never really existed in the first place), all that there is, is whats always already the case, and that can't be an experience. ie impersonal, ie life is happening automatically.
  18. States come and go. I know Jim Newman says: This (what is and isn't) is not an experience.
  19. So when you look at things you see nothing illusory (maya), dreamlike or imagined ? (I mean like when the body dies, you don't really die.) So my question is: what is your definition of "real" ? But it's not possible to live continuously in that state of peak mystical experience. (Yet you seemed to describe it as the ultimate goal)
  20. That's pretty cool, like you're being reset/refreshed in the middle of the day.
  21. You seem to be implying some mystical state as the goal ?
