No system, no matter how idealistic, will prevent monsters from rising to the surface. Switching systems wont solve the human condition. Communism also produced it's fair share of monsters.

Once you've been proper addicted to weed, there's no such thing as having a healthy relationship with weed. Golden teacher mushrooms is a good replacement, in the sense that it heals the brain, you can microdose on a daily basis if you so choose, or you can do a proper trip when you feel like it. Virtually no downside.

I have replaced it with Golden teacher mushrooms. I enjoyed weed, but got addicted. The downside of over use is just too big. I didnt even feel like exercising anymore at all. Weed is a dangerous one.

Revolution can happen via the election process also, it doesn't need violence, maybe let go of that fantasy. The fact that shit is so bad under Trump, means precisely that a big energetic swing will happen the other way, and my sense is that it wont just be short term. People are waking up to all this fascism and realizing bad stuff is happening. I see there's revolution in the air in Argentina also.

Maybe i used the wrong term when i said a combination of capitalism and socialism. I meant like Scandinavia, ie freedom to do business, but basic needs are looked after in a way.

So you think pure capitalism is the best system ?

Well, then Im all for it, i just dont want it to be put in place through violence.

@Elliott Business is not what we ultimately desire. But i think freedom is a big one for a lot of people. Thats what a business can give someone, ie the ability to travel to an exotic destination for a holiday if they so choose. (with collective ownership will we reach those levels of prosperity and freedom ?)

Yeah im all for that, but will those people then have the freedom to use their genius and start their own business and become wealthy enough to travel the world ? Socialism seems great to meet basic needs, but then i sense there's some curtailing of freedom in the end. Thats why i still say there must be a practical way to get the best aspects of capitalism and socialism together, while limiting the negative aspects of both.

I prefer a balance of capitalism and socialism, through fair elections. Towns and cities and govern themselves, but there still needs to be some national and international coordination.

The thing is, what will prevent more violent uprisings from dismantling this new socialist utopia ? ie violent uprisings from people who dont like socialism.

Well it sounds like @Cred wants to violently overthrow the current government. Which means people will get slaughtered just like in Iran.
