  1. @aurum That's not what you said though. See how you are misusing definitions to shift points to serve yourself? Have you tried listening to someone for their sake?
  2. @aurum Kind of a bit dishonest saying eating animals vs factory farmed animals is not remotely the same, don't you think?
  3. You can't, but you know you will and that's what sucks about it. I don't know if it will be a year for you, but it will end. You have my word.
  4. @aurumnah, it would just be not eating meat and dairy without the thinking around it, that's all.
  5. @aurum then be a vegan who is not purely there for the ideology? do you need the confirmation of other vegans for that? I choose my ethics regardless of the opinion of others, I simply weigh what it does to the victim and what it would mean on a greater scale.
  6. @aurum you are so inherently wrong on these 3 position, but I am sure you know that. that's why you bring them up, because vegans bring them up to you.
  7. @Flowerfaeiry then you did not understand my point.
  8. @Flowerfaeiry and it's not one out of the blue. Assumptions are not wrong by default, you know. I believe it is reasonable.
  9. @Flowerfaeiry Granted that you actually were vegan (which I am suspicious about, to be honest). A person that were vegan out of heart for the animals but could not continue to live of plants, because of some weird make up, I expect to say something this alike: "Veganism is beautiful and I totally understand the reasons behind it especially as some who was vegan for the animals, but I unfortunately cannot live on a vegan diet at the moment for xyz reasons, but I appreciate every person who is vegan and would encourage people to be vegan if they can." Someone who was vegan for the animals, does not regret having been vegan. So I don't know, to me it seems like you either had some distorted reasons of or for being vegan or of how you were vegan or ..
  10. I cannot believe how similar this sounds to as it was for me. I was heavy into lifting as well and was neglecting her towards the end because of an interest into other girls. 4 years in relationship. But I was also abusive towards her. At some point we got less and less contact until I even forgot about her for a month, i think it may have been even a couple months, it felt like a week. In that time, I kinda started realizing more how narcissistic I was and how much of myself I was actively repressing out of shame. I stumbled upon an anime that opened my heart which had been closed due to shame for a long time and I finally opened up to myself in thinking as well, regained my strong empathy. Eventually I accidentally met her again and we talked and I slowly realized what treasure I had thrown away there. So I tried to make it up, was in a 'relationship' again with her, but it was different, I felt she felt different about me. During the short second attempt, I was the best I could have been towards her with my limited financial situation and I really deeply loved her. When she went to Spain to work as a au-pair for 6 months, I believe, one evening I felt bothering unease and worry, when she contacted me via skype, she broke up. I could not handle it, my body was strong and fit but mind wanted to die, to stop thinking for good, it just could not and I was in pure agony of conflictive thoughts/feelings, sadness over the loss, self criticism, chronic gut pain and conflict between wanting to die in mind but live in body, for the next whole year, every day. That was rough, that was an insane.. period. time felt so stretched out. I can still feel the emotional cloud of the aftermath today.
  11. Mr. Alexo Sexo, what excatly do you fear in approaching women, the rejection or public embarrassment?
  12. Depends on how conscious we go, above our current western culture killing animals has little place there. Abolishing this is a step into a more conscious society relative to ours. By the way, cows are beautiful creatures, it's really a shame seeing that. And also, introducing lab grown meat into society is not necessarily an expression of society becoming higher conscious. Higher conscious would be if you actually identify with their well/being.
  13. @Zeitgeist it is pointless, i believe these characters here have some sort of brain defects. keep your energy for yourself and do only minimum work responses. they will not be able to grasp. watch for the ones that do have the ability to see.
  14. @Danioover9000 wrong derivation, leo is not representative of the general population.
  15. @Tetcher not really, it's mostly just people being offended by the message and projecting that onto the vegans as "insulting".
  16. @machiavelli religion has not done anything, my friend. try to look at it this way. people create ideologies around their mindsets. if it weren't for religion, something else would have came up that were used to oppress or keep in the dark, like it in the past call it xyz, and then we would still be here having the same discussion but with xyz instead of religion on it. of course there is a little scope of truth in it, otherwise they would not be able to do it. now don't get me wrong, i think it is important to discuss the flaws of religion with an "ultra religious" person or any person really. Ask yourself how many people has science liberated?
  17. @TheDao Tell us about it.
  18. you should really go deeper into religion and the minds of people. how religion is practiced is not a function of religion but of the minds interpreting it. what do you want to achieve with this thread if all you do here is push for your distaste of religion, you are leading the same mindset the " religious people" have you paint here. I am sorry for your pain, but what for?
  19. You are painting this too black and white Leo just to serve yourself. Besides that, I don't know you are really that much of a jerk.
  20. @Zigzag Idiot I guess your posts fit your name.
  21. I can see that with regards to making people here bigger sheeps, but the reason is because you don't challenge them, not necessarily something to do with being generally polite. Take a look at Scholar's posts. this one is interesting
