What Russia wants is neutral Ukraine, not to seize Ukrainian land. Their focus is on destroying the Ukrainian military. A big part of the Eastern Ukraine is already controlled by Russia. Dragging this out simply means more civilian casualties.

I don't think anyone is saying that Ukrainians are neo nazis. Saying that a part of the Ukrainian National Guard is Neo-Nazi is not the same as saying that Ukrainians are Neo-Nazis. People from the Donbass region say that the war never stopped there since 2014. People from the rest of Ukraine didn't really care though since it didn't affect them personally.
