  1. For the longest time I had a recurring dream about being trapped in a big mansion with a bunch of zombies. Pretty sure it came from watching my brother's friend play Resident Evil (the original one) at our house at an early age. Eventually the dream turned from scary to comical, and then it stopped happening altogether. *shrug*
  2. If it's real knowledge, no, it can only make your life more joyous. If it's a misinterpretation, most definitely.
  3. I've been vegetarian for 18 years now, I've been leaning towards full veganism but never quite got there. Currently I'm off cheese but I still have an occasional egg or two. So basically I'm almost vegan I guess.
  4. Eh. I know you're all trying to do what you feel is best for society, and I don't have any qualms with that. I've considered it from all possible angles I could, and for me personally I decided that I trust my immune system better. I know a 93 year old in terrible general health who tested positive for it twice in the span of 6 months, and hadn't had a single symptom from it. I personally know at least 10 people who've had it and showed no symptoms or very mild ones. It is a dangerous virus but I feel it's massively overblown especially when it comes to the healthy part of the population with effective immune systems. All that said - I fully acknowledge that I could be wrong, I honestly am simply working off my own intuition which I trust more than I trust the pharmaceutical industry. Personally I won't get vaccinated but perhaps it is a good idea that most people should get vaccinated anyway. I don't know. Honestly I'm better off out of these debates because they are so polarizing.
  5. @Goldzilla It means able to be put in quanta. In other words, able to be measured. Able to be formalized. Able to be written down and analyzed. In science all we're really doing is approximating. Best approximation wins.
  6. Maybe, idk. My only problem with these vaccines is that they are pushed onto healthy population. Honestly who the hell knows anymore.
  7. Simple answer. Nothing is really quantifiable. If you go deep into it, you realize that every single thing that you could ever experience is absolutely inexpressible.
  8. Which doesn't mean shit in science, since when did science become a religion? Total bullshit. The virus mutates a few times and there goes all your effort down the toilet. And you want to vaccinate the entire population, including healthy adults, against a virus with ~99.9% survival rate in the developed world? Fucking really? The madness is truly astonishing.
  9. Imagine an extremely vivid and conscious dream, one that you could easily mistake for reality. That's what it is.
  10. Leo talks about a lot of extremely advanced concepts and it's very easy to misunderstand them especially if you're early into spirituality. What you do is stop thinking, and meditate and contemplate on what you learn. You will very quickly discover that a single teaching (not just Leo's, but any advanced spiritual teaching) can easily have 100s of facets, each one of them completely distinct and unique. Sometimes you will hear the same exact teaching 10 years later and you will find completely new meanings in it, ones that you never would or even could consider back when you first attempted to understand that specific teaching. How? Because these teachings cover the entire surface of experience, as long as it's true it must work in all contexts. Remember that the highest truth is ineffable and requires direct experience. All these teachings are just pointing at truth but they are not the truth itself.
  11. @JayySur A strong psychedelic will melt the ego like ice cream on a hot sidewalk, to the point where you forget that you are even human.
  12. It's weirder than that. You had direct access to the psychedelic state of mind as a toddler. Our society trains us to gradually but surely construct a mental cage for ourselves, one that prevents magic to come through. It's so successful in training us that we forget about magic along the way.
  13. It's only default because it's programmed into us from young age. The ego is like a filter that only allows certain experiences to pass through. What psychedelics do is they pull that filter away temporarily, letting the full spectrum of experience in. The ego experience is about as far from real as it gets, it even feels fake if you really go deep down into it and contemplate it. There's a strange feeling of fakeness about ordinary everyday experience. Psychedelics on the other hand are on another level, they are more real. They crank your awareness so high that you can't ignore it anymore. Btw, this doesn't mean that the ego experience is wrong. Not at all. It's simply one way of looking at the universe. The shortcoming of the ego is realizing the absolute infinity of available perspectives. The ego is like a horse, if it's wild you're gonna have a lot of problems with it. If it's tame, it's going to serve as your best friend. The main point is not mistaking the ego for your true self, which far transcends it.
  14. The mind is like water, it takes shapes of the container. Our normal container is the boundaries set up by our physiology, our culture, our environment. Psychedelics release and melt these boundaries so now your mind is able to self-form, creating any number of experiences. Therefore any experience you have on psychedelics is as real as any other "real" thing. In fact it usually feels more real than the real you are normally familiar with. Or it can feel less real. The mind has capacity for infinite experiences. How you define real is just one of your boundaries.
  15. Magic happens all the time, you just need to pay attention. A million impossible things are going on simultaneously all around you right at this very moment. Our science and logic only covers the rational portion of the whole thing as visualized in this post of mine. https://www.actualized.org/forum/topic/69938-this-diagram-i-just-drew-about-the-post-rational/ In other words, rationality covers a miniscule, infinitesimal portion of actual reality. If all you ever do is look through that keyhole, then of course you won't be able to find magic anywhere, your view is literally obscured. You'll end up rationalizing any contradiction, and the logical mind will fill in all the blanks for you. But true magic exists and is actually the majority of the experience of life. You're simply not paying attention to it.
  16. It's not a drugged state of mind at all. It's the normal state of mind. The ego is a drugged state of mind.
  17. The real problem is thinking that any old fool can chew some mushrooms and have a grand mystical awakening on the spot. That's such a comical perspective. Psychedelics are a tool - an instrument, and like any other tool, they need someone skilled in using them. You wouldn't expect to pick up the guitar for the first time in your life and immediately play like Satriani, so why do you expect picking up psychedelics without putting in the work and expecting any results? If you want a great psychedelic experience, first meditate for 3 months straight like a crazy monk, and then take the psychedelic. If you want a confusing experience, take it in your normal, confused mind state. It's really as simple as that, first learn how to play the instrument and then play it, and it will produce beautiful music. Will psychedelics ever enlighten you? No, the only one who will enlighten you is you. LOL. Don't you get it? You're the one taking the psychedelic to begin with, it doesn't consume itself.
  18. Telekinesis (psychokinesis) is a very real phenomena, along with telepathy, I have experienced both. Telepathy can be easily experienced through psychedelics, magic mushrooms tend to induce it rather trivially. Psychokinesis can be self-taught, I used to train with a psi-wheel when I was younger. By the end of it I could rotate it under a transparent container and control its direction, which for me undeniably proved that it exists and is a skill you can develop. Personally I believe we're still in our cosmic diapers as far as knowing ourselves goes. The mind is far more powerful than we think it is.
  19. Immunology, one of the most complex bodies of knowledge we possess as humans. "Basic science" lol Leo seems to be against questioning things, unless he's the one doing the questioning.
  20. I haven't ever done it but a friend of mine took it, blacked out, dropped to the floor face first, and broke his nose.
  21. If working worked, then everyone would be awake as well, yet no one is. Just imagine for one moment all the spiritual extremes that people go and have gone into over thousands of years, and how many truly enlightened people this actually produced. The truth is that nothing works because there is no algorithm for awakening. All paths lead to the same place. It's just that some paths are thorny, very difficult to walk through, and require extreme effort. And some paths are gentle, loving, and effortless, and there's the intoxicating aroma of roses as you walk through. It's simply a matter of taste.
  22. There are risks associated with vaping. 1) The vape itself could be of bad quality and could be releasing toxic heavy metals such as nickel, lead, tin etc. into your lungs because it uses cheap materials not designed to be heat resistant, and it can leak various fumes over time. This is obviously extremely undesirable. Cheap knockoff vapes tend to be like this so avoid those - always get the highest rated vape and make sure you read every review online before you decide on one and be especially cautious about this in general. Note that high grade vapes will also cost a lot more, but there's a good reason. You do not want cheap vapes leaking toxic fumes into your body. 2) Vapes that use liquid vape juice are dangerous especially if you use unverified or bad quality e-juices. Some of them are extremely dangerous and cause a disease known as EVALI (e-cigarette or vaping use-associated lung injury). This is serious shit that you do not want to get. So if you're doing liquid vaping make sure you buy both the highest grade e-juice and the highest grade vape. 3) Same types of risk as smoking apply. You're putting fine particulate matter into your body, not unlike walking through a polluted area. If you vape nicotine, there's obvious psychological and mental effects, namely addiction to a particularly nasty substance with next to no benefits. If you're asking if this affects your mind, the answer is yes. And vaping is obviously vastly better than smoking (assuming it is done right and with proper high quality equipment), however I would recommend just skipping on these nasty habits altogether, there is no benefit to doing it. As far as dry herb vaporizers go (typically used for cannabis), I would recommend oral or topical use instead as they are healthier and much more efficient methods. Same for most other substances. As a long-time smoker who struggled pretty hard to finally quit, I can tell you there's no reason whatsoever to pollute your lungs with anything. The only thing that should be going into your lungs is air.
  23. I don't know, you tell me.
