  1. On second thought, you guys are right about him just taking a step back. I think that would have been sufficient. Then again, if he didn't point the gun she may not have ducked behind the counter and would still have been a threat. She may have tried to hurl the water across the room. I usually give cops a little wiggle room for mistakes because of fear and adrenaline but I still think think guy fucked up. She was holding a pot of water, not a shotgun.
  2. Yep, she threw it. If you play back in slowmo you can see that she held the pot above her head while she kneeled. He fired shots as soon as it left her hands. He was acting in self-defense but I think he's going to have a hard time explaining why he didn't use a taser. Excessive force IMO.
  3. I’m gonna move to rural Kentucky and dress up like Bruno every day.
  4. I didn't think there was enough research on psychedelics to make a degree out of it. Seems like they still have a long way to go
  5. Leo’s go to move is to put others down while simultaneously stroking his own ego. I see him do it almost daily. Everyone has their own set of interests, strengths, and values. They don’t need to be criticized for bringing what they have to the table. For someone who claims to be highly conscious, Leo sure does have a massive blind spot. This is low consciousness behavior.
  6. It’ll be a shit show but I’m kind of looking forward to it for the entertainment value
  7. Yes, I was talking to my friend about this today. One reason why the Oregon experiment failed is because they didn't have the support of the rest of the country. This was not a nation-wide effort like how it was done in Portugal so it was very easy for the bad actors to move across state lines. If this was a nationwide effort there would not have been a mass relocation of people from all over the country.
  8. These are pretty good articles, most of what I suspected is true: https://www.npr.org/2024/03/27/1240892448/why-oregons-groundbreaking-drug-decriminalization-experiment-is-coming-to-an-end https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/01/us/oregon-drug-law-portland-mayor.html Also, drugs were recriminalized on April 1, 2024. I'm not sure if this applies to psychedelics. In 2023 we actually made psilocybin legal (with constraints) but it's unclear if that was rolled back.
  9. I forgot to mention, I think the experiment failed because we didn’t have the necessary programs and policies in place to make it work. It’s also possible that the outcome may be different if we keep trying, but make changes, adjust, and learn from the mistakes we made rather than throwing our hands up in the air and giving up. Long story short, the city just wasn’t ready for the shit show this has become, and people are really sick of it.
  10. I live in a city where all drugs are decriminalized. Portland, OR. This city has become a complete shit show. The hope was that people would be able to get help rather than being locked up for non-violent drug offenses. What actually happened is that homeless people and cartels flocked here from other states/cities to take advantage of the situation. Most on the street don’t want to get clean, they want to maintain the same lifestyle without risk of being locked up. People openly smoke fentanyl on the streets, tent cities have erected everywhere, crime has skyrocketed. Businesses have shut down and people have moved away to get away from the crime. Last I heard, we were going to recriminalize drugs, but I don’t know if that was the final decision and if so when that might happen. I’m in support of this decision but it would be nice if we were allowed to keep our psychedelics.
  11. Really brave on her part, but WTF were the republicans thinking? Jesus. And yeah, those comments OMG
  12. Thats what I did. Most liberal cities are expensive though, you need to have money to live comfortably
  13. Fake news. You can tell by their body language just messing with you 😁
  14. @Danioover9000 Sorry, I was unclear. I was talking about Trump's intentions when he was pumping his fist on stage. He was clearly trying to look tough in front of his fanbase. You seemed to miss that.
  15. @Danioover9000 I think you misjudged the body language on this one. Lol
  16. Trump was just trying to look tough for his supporters.
  17. Stop that. Body language is not a good way of gauging whether or not someone is right. The point of the video was not the vaccine. She was articulating her point about facts being irrelevant in a disagreement. Lastly, she was saying that it’s not about winning, not even through persuasion . It’s about coming to a mutual understanding.
  18. Disagreements about polarized topics are almost always hopeless. You see it out in the real world but you see plenty of it on this forum as well.
