  1. But are you really the form or are you the formless? ?
  2. @Mikey I think I heard it from another guru. Never listened much to Sadghuru. ?
  3. @Dodoster Yes. You don't have to describe it to me. Try and see it for yourself. I'll make an example. I had a belief that I was a shy person and that was based on earlier experiences. That belief about myself made me shy in the current experience. It was a form of resistance to change.
  4. @laurastarla If you chop of a hand has it changed what you really are? A leg? The torso? Continue to mentally chop of body parts to see where "you" are.
  5. Yes. It totally is. Yet many will hold onto things. They will resist change. Try to describe yourself as a person. Are some of it how you have been earlier in life and is it really the way you are right in this moment? I'm not saying you are this way but some people have "learned" how they are and act accordingly to that belief. ☺
  6. @Frogfucius This is perfectly normal. It is so easy to be that open space when nothing is demanded of "you". When everything is the way "you" WANT it to BE. Can you be that space when stress is in the body, when you are back into the drama of life? Now the real work begins.
  7. @Dodoster What if it is exactly like you describe it? What if it is not? Can you ever know this? Is this a trap to not change?
  8. "Lean" into that open space. Ground "yourself" in that space. The rest will take care of itself.
  9. @Electron For me it was all about finding the truth. No matter what obstacles there was, including pain, I just had to know. So the driving force does not need to be pleasure. But we will always prefer pleasure over pain, that is just a part of the humaness.
  10. @Mppdidi Excellent! And what says that the south pole shouldn't be on top? There is no up or down in space is there? ?
  11. @Emerald Wilkins The past experiences and your beliefs about enlightenment creates expectations of what enlightenment is. You then see in the present moment that it does not hold the expectations that you have and setting it as a future goal, but that is like a carrot on a stick you'll never get to it. This is really just writing what you already told us. So you know what to do. What was true in former experiences is not true in this moment.
  12. @Beam I think this is quite common for self-actualizing people. Someone with a positive attitude will attract positive people. And positive and negative won't match. There is probably a belief that people shouldn't be negative? Or maybe a fear of them making you start drinking again? If you even have a hard time reading negative posts I'd probably start there. Read a negative post a see what happens in the body. Just take it slow. No need to engulf yourself in negativity.
  13. @Ranz Kafka The emotions will be there, joy, sadness, gratitude. There simply won't be any clinging on to certain emotions and pushing away others. Sadness will be embraced in the moment it arise as lovely as joy would be.
  14. @electroBeam You are starting to see through your own beliefs thanks to the glimpse you had. Truth is not as black and white as you thought it was is it? I have also been a blind rationalist that believed all religions only was a tool too control the crowd. Getting a glimpse makes you see that religion tries to point to the truth just as much as science does, they both have there place in the world and from past experiences you can see that too. If you start to see christianity AS the truth instead of POINTING to the truth, I'd get the hell out of there. But that is not what I'm sensing from what you've written. Your mind is just trying to make a problem out it.
  15. @electroBeam No matter if the thoughts are "this is boring!" or "Yeah I can do this all night baby!" or "I wonder what I should eat for dinner?, it's just thoughts. Don't assign any value to them.
  16. Yes. Thank you for sharing it with us. ?
  17. And you will never know shit. That's the beauty of it. ☺
  18. @FirstglimpseOMG You've probably heard the word oneness before. There is one, is it true? What implications does that have to "you" and what you described as ego?
  19. So does this witness have any control over whats witnessed?
  20. What @jjer94 suggested is one place to start. Examine what you experience and toss the belief of oneness out the window.
  21. @WhatAmI I'll answer your questions with more questions. Can this observer be seen? The brain can be seen and thoughts it produce can be seen can it not? Can something that can be observed create the unobservable?
  22. Would you believe me if I told you? ☺ Is believing someone else free will? It is letting someone else control you, so what do you experience yourself? Do you experience free will? What is it that chooses?
  23. @Mal Just a word of advice. If you at any time feel that you are right and the other person is wrong, if you feel threatened and have do defend your beliefs, you are identifying with ego. Just be aware of that and look out for those triggers.
