  1. @Pallero Yes, happiness is experienced without a you attached to it. It's interesting that the whole world is stuck in the illusion of self and all the fear and attempts to control everything that comes with it.
  2. @Bebop Please listen to Moojis advice and contemplate.
  3. @ygorborges2 There is never a person. There is just the illusion of a person seeking happiness. Illusion searching for truth. The irony is that true happiness occurs when this illusion of the person is seen through. That the person itself is the one causing unhappiness.
  4. @Pramit Reality is not reality it just is and as soon as you start thinking about it, describing it, it has been turned into a concept. A finite model in your mind. No shame in trying to describe it but be aware that it's a finite object that tries to describe the infinite.
  5. If you feel like you need to force yourself to do things they are probably not true for you right now. Truth is effortless, do that which is just that. Someday it may change. You then may want to build a new house, who knows? You ask what to do. I say trust yourself, you know what to do.
  6. @Bizarre are you saying that we are awareness? Isn't that the same as saying nothingness or non-conceptual?
  7. Can there ever be an answer to that question though?
  8. @NTOgen Yes, like the rest of humanity.
  9. @Svartsaft Enlightenment might happen or it might not happen and I agree that having hope that it will happen will only hinder you to see the beauty of reality. But saying that it won't happen is actually on the same spectrum of bullshit just on the opposite end of it.
  10. @Aamir King The point of SDS is the pain. You will want to move to relieve the pain and the stiffness in the muscles and mind will start to go wild. Just watch the thoughts and the pain and sit still.
  11. It depends on how you want to define ego. Babies probably don't have a sense of self in the beginning so by that definition you are right, but I wouldn't say a dog has that either. That comes from the learning of a language.
  12. @BeginnerActualizer You can learn a dog to make tricks and feeding it treats. The dog learns it and does the trick in hope of getting that treat and it does it automatically and unconsciously. So it has behavior that has been learned from past experiences meaning it does have an ego. That said it does not have as complex ego as a human. A human ego can plan 30 years into the future. It can hold onto the memories of the past. A dog will always be in the present moment so in that regard it does not have as BIG an ego as humans do.
  13. @username Like any desire it's just a belief that it will make you happy once you get it but have that ever been true in your past experience? Have it given you an everlasting happiness?
  14. @Ry4n Real surrender cannot be practiced, it just happens. Trying to force or do surrender will only be more doing. Adyashanti explains it well here:
  15. I suggest doing self improvement before enlightenment because it might be the case that self improvement is not of interest to you anymore afterwards.
  16. Every reaction to something externally can be referenced to something internally. A belief that isn't in line with reality will trigger a certain behavior. Spirituality is about becoming aware of those internal triggers. Usually it is a thought combined with a tension in the body, usually in the stomach region.
  17. @WaveInTheOcean Ethics are beliefs of what one should or shouldn't do. What is right and what is wrong. Higher consciousness is about seeing through those beliefs.
  18. @Marina Good! Don't try to hold onto the experience and don't chase it trying to gain it back. It will only distance you from it. Whatever is happening is happening, sometimes it will feel like you are very caught up in the personal and sometimes it will be effortlessly blissful. You cannot control it. Does relaxing into it or leaning back into it make any sense to you?
  19. @SaynotoKlaus Meditation has benefits on your health and happiness. It will also be a tool to reach enlightenment if you choose to go down that path. The real question is if you are willing to die to know the truth?
  20. @Travis It comes a time where you will just give up. When you see that nothing you do work. That there is nothing to really do. A surrender of the "me". And it will happen of itself.
  21. Sure you may believe whatever you want about me. I was just trying to point out some things that might be of help to you. If you don't find it helpful ignore it. Hopefully you do some introspection before tossing it.
  22. @kundalini Mind really likes to analyze to try to understand what happened but it can never understand. Just let it go.
