  1. Lol. Yeah that does sound a little bit perverted. Or maybe it's just me. ?
  2. @Shin have passed through the pearly gates to banana heaven now?
  3. I like how they push buttons. If you're spiritual you might have a dramatic episode while watching that. One of my favorites:
  4. Yes, but I find that to be true only if you don't believe it to be true. Mind can quite easily slip in there and construct a god/enlightened identity.
  5. Doesn't that mean that enlightenment doesn't exist and that there is no I to be enlightened? ?
  6. @Devansh Saharan Be the awareness of all sensations. If you are identifying with thought you can start with being aware of the feelings in your body or your breath. You'll inevitably become caught in the thought stories but don't beat yourself up about it because that is only part of the thought story. Just put the awareness back on the breath or feeling sensations.
  7. @David Hammond what do you mean with your enlightened? Do you still focus on your breath after enlightenment happened?
  8. @AdamDiC I'm having some anger issues aswell. The anger is expressed outward towards other people, especially my children. Don't do that!!! Stop it! NO, NO, NO! It come up almost everyday. Mostly at the evenings when I'm tired. And I don't now how to meet that energy.
  9. @EvilAngel If the praying puts you in a state of listening then the prayer have served its purpose but if it's a way to express your desires of wanting/needing then that's a movement of delusion.
  10. @ginger28 Which one is faster I don't know. To me it was first awakening from mind then the heart. For a complete awakening to happen you need to awaken on all three levels so the realization will continue to deepen even after the initial awakening.
  11. Don't wallow in the depression but at the same time don't try to get rid of it. Explore the story your telling yourself to feel depressed. Is it true?
  12. @moon777light I used to have alot of these thoughts too. The thoughts was mostly about me beating myself up over what had happened in the past. Feelings of worthlessness and anxiety came with the thoughts aswell. What helped me most was seeing that these thought weren't true. That what happened in the past didn't define who I were. When these thoughts came up I stopped paying attention to them and instead focused on what I was doing at the time. Physical activity helped when the thoughts were extra sticky. Baby steps indeed! Just take it one thought at a time. Make life one big meditation.
  13. I used to look at the shitty side but I taught myself to look at the perfect side. Then after a while the coin turned into a perfectshitty ball.
  14. @Farnaby Doing nothing while letting everything arise and pass works great. You don't have to do anything about the mind chatter. It's just noise. Trying to quiet it will only create more noise so the best is to just let it be. A suggestion is trying to keep that state after tye meditation stops to let it spill over to your life off the cushion.
  15. You say that when you feel great you feel like your true self but what about when you feel bad? What I'm trying to say is allow those bad feelings into your experience aswell. They are as much you as the good feelings. Don't try to push them away.
  16. @Freyah I agree with what your saying. A spouse and children are great for spiritual practice. They tend to push your buttons and also allows intimacy and opening up your heart to them About your post. You seem offended which might indicate that there is a belief at work here.
  17. What is the thought pointing to within your own experience?
  18. You trusted the thought that questioned didn't you? It's good to question what actually is real but if the answer is from the mind you haven't really answered the question. The answer is outside of thought.
  19. @yangmilun Do you want to be the person you want to become or who you truly are?
  20. Not as much me wanting to move in a certain direction but more of a letting go of directing life and letting life lead the way.
  21. Can you trust anything with an impermanent quality? It's not a thought. It's the foundation of any experience.
  22. That sounds like personal development which is not the direction I'm moving in. But if OP is moving in that direction I can see the validity in that.
