  1. And do you think it's possible to go back to sleep? Can you undo the seeing somehow?
  2. You see what thoughts and feeling come up when people treat you bad and you inquire into them. That way you dissolve those patterns of negative thinking and "bad" feelings. There's a chance that your goals are tied into the same patterns of thinking and feeling so by dissolving those patterns your goals start to feel unimportant to you.
  3. Yeah that sucks. The human is hooked up to feel pain and fear to let it survive which was helpful in the past. Now it seems like it's mostly a hindrance. Have you tried to sit with these feelings, feel them fully?
  4. @KatiesKarma Sounds like you experience what most people experience. What makes it unsettling?
  5. For those who wants yes. You can always go further on the continuum but that's not for everyone. Some may want to stay where they are and let it deepen right where they are. Ultimately we don't get to choose what we truly want. ?
  6. @Sugarcoat Yes, that's usually what happens when beliefs fall away. You feel disoriented and look for ways to gain clarity. ? So maybe your spiritual practices doesn't lead to an "increase in awareness" or maybe they do. Do you enjoy doing them or would you rather do something else? Embrace the not knowing and ask yourself what feels true for you and it might be revealed.
  7. It's hearing something spiritual like "there is no self that can do anything" and that is taken in as a belief which the ego is formed around but the realization of no self has not yet happened. To put it in other words it's the discrepancy between a belief and your experience. Another example would be "it's ONE" but it's still experienced as being a separate self that is looking out of the body. Stalling out spiritually and in extreme cases your life falling apart. The best is probably to have a spiritual teacher which can point this out. Or others with experience of it. It also takes honesty and wanting truth above all else. It's probably hard to avoid it completely. It's so common on the path especially after the first experience of oneness or no self. The ego forms around the experience and creates blind spots. Don't take what people say as an objective truth but rather a description of how they're experiencing it. Truth is how YOU are experiencing it right now. Connecting to your experience will lead to deeper knowledge and realizations.
  8. It takes a thought to know that "everyone on this form" this or that, wouldn't you agree? And what is the feeling underneath the thought. Anger perhaps?
  9. It's been around 5-6 years before I learned about spirituality but the seeking if truth started earlier. Zero No meditation in the classical way but meditation happens on the bus to work or in the sofa at home or whenever the time for it occurs. It's not better or worse than before the journey started but it's wonderful. Start with investigating what you are experiencing right now and continue your investigation until..
  10. It's a good practice to detach from thoughts and "watch" them come and go. Another practice could be to "relax" into being which have more of a feeling quality than an observing one.
  11. Yeah the dark night is the hardest part of the process. What do you do when you lack the motivation to go to work? You do it anyway. Motivation is one of the first layers that dissolves but the emotional resistance to things are still there and when that starts to dissolve life will get easier.
  12. Thank you for sharing this. Yes, realizing it seems to have that impact for a while. It happened the day after meditation but the "meditation" didn't seem to stop but rather continued to deepen. No there was not that intention. At the point of realization it was blizzful but after there were pain, anger, sadness. Basically alot of negative feelings that came up. Integration happens by itself. The point is to let it happen which can be hard. At some points I wanted to run from the realization, distract myself from it and not let it happen. All sense of rigidness is identity.
  13. Yes! ? I would describe it as the less self there is the more universal the love becomes. ???
  14. It's thoughts which you hold as being true. There is an emotional component as well. If the belief is questioned there might be anger or fear for example. You've probably experienced this in a heated argument with someone. Question the thought. Is it actually true?
  15. @DavyTee In most people there is a deeply rooted feeling of unsatisfactoriness/unhappiness. When that is met it starts to dissolve and underneath there is stillness, peace and happiness. Knowing that it's all awareness won't make you happy. But if you meet those negative feelings you will eventually dissolve them and move into higher feelings which will lead to happiness.
  16. If you pass out then that may be a sign that you're overdoing it. Are you following the recommended duration of the practice? In my opinion this should be treated as warning signals. It might be positive though but it might also be a sign that something is seriously wrong. Personally I haven't used that method but I have some experience with letting go, the sit with the feeling way and never experienced passing out.
  17. If you're interested then check out Adyashantis book "Ressurrecting Jesus". It starts with the awakening when he was baptized by John and the Enlightenment when he died on the cross. It does not mention his life after the ressurrection though which would have been interesting to hear Adyashanti speak of.
  18. There are many maps of consciousness and the path like david r hawkins Map, The ten oxherding pictures, The four stages in buddhism. Jesus life could also be seen as a map of it.
  19. @Kyle Gjerseth Only if the prayer is used as a way to deeply listen.
  20. If you focus on any of your senses are they not in constant change? Like the arising and passing of a feeling or the intensity of a sound? A thought coming and going. You can put focus on something fixed like a wall and that will feel constant but if you put focus on the change instead then something might get revealed.
  21. From where does sound appear and where does it go when it fades away? All appearances are impermanent and are born, change and die. Nothing is constant. It's all duality Life and death Being and non-being Existence and non-existence Duality and non-duality What seems to be constant to you? That is what the ego is holding onto as the self
  22. From what you're saying below I'd say it vanish into unawareness or unconsciousness. To become aware, in lack of a better word, of that do the practice. Yes, you're on to something here. ??
  23. @catcat69123 Yeah it's a great book which has helped me as well.
  24. Hello fellow human being! ✌??
  25. That things are just happening and that it's unknowable is also a perspective which one is true?
