For sure not too much (if at all) , else he wouldn’t be acting in these quite often, um, irresponsible ways. A rampant ongoing confusion of Absolute and relative, True Self and false illusion vehicle, resulting in being a bit annoyed on how miserable and resisting/suffering that feels. Chapeau to the new PR strategy for gracefully dancing in the dream! There is not a single teacher, and no one any more awake than another. Only one infinite dreamer and its infinite dreams. Who is the dreamer? What is the only Infinite Reality that can wake up to itself, only to find itself having been there all along, dreaming up hide and seek? Your nonexistent dream-fan by the River -

Tibetan Mahamudra Meditation "Pointing out the Great Way"-style, see the book by Daniel Brown. In my opinion the by far most sophisticated and efficient system on the planet. That is one of the reasons why Ken Wilber uses Brown and Pointing out the Great Way in one of his latest books "The Religion of Tomorrow" to detail the higher states (causal, nondual). The Tibetans have continued to develop the basic Buddhist meditation techniques they imported around 1000CE for the longest time with the biggest man-power, and a quite unique dedication. The whole country basically gave a unique focus for 1000 years. Although there was also a lot of "less than serious practice" in the monasteries, there were also places of intense practice and innovative development. The Thai Theravada Tradition (Mindfulness-meditation Theravada style, pretty dominant nowadays if one looks at Frank Yang and Ingram) was not in a good shape as a working lineage in the 19th century (for example, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_Forest_Tradition) "Though all of these local flavors of regional Thai Buddhism evolved their own customary elements relating to local spirit lore, all were shaped by the infusion of Mahayana Buddhism and Indian Tantric traditions, which arrived in the area prior to the fourteenth century. Additionally, many of the monastics in the villages engaged in behavior inconsistent with the Buddhist monastic code (Pali: vinaya), including playing board games, and participating in boat races and water fights." Vajirañāṇo Bhikkhu, later King Mongkut of the Rattanakosin Kingdom, founder of the Dhammayuttika Nikaya In the 1820s young Prince Mongkut (1804–1866), the future fourth king of the Rattanakosin Kingdom (Siam), was ordained as a Buddhist monk before rising to the throne later in his life. He traveled around the Siamese region and quickly became dissatisfied with the caliber of Buddhist practice he saw around him. He was also concerned about the authenticity of the ordination lineages, and the capacity of the monastic body to act as an agent that generates positive kamma (Pali: puññakkhettam, meaning "merit-field")." Zen in Japan didn't look much better (Van Schaik, The Spirit of Zen). "Meanwhile, the scholarly writings and strict meditation practices expounded by Dogen and his successors remained a minority interest, and by the seventeenth century, rigorous meditation had largely been abandoned in Zen temples, as Griffith Foulk has shown: The typical Zen temple thus became a place where a resident priest or abbot and a few assistant monks performed funerals and memorial services for their lay parishioners and perhaps engaged them in other Buddhist practices as well, such as receiving the precepts or repentances or celebrating the Buddha’s birthday or his nirvāṇa.24"). - Van Schaik, The Spirit of Zen The techniques of both Zen and Theravada look pretty similiar to the historic meditation (concentration and insight) techniques. Not so in Tibet with Mahamudra for example, or Dzogchen. Here my summary of Mahamudra Pointing out the Great Way which I practiced for a long time: For more on Mahamudra Pointing out the Great Way - style: https://www.actualized.org/forum/search/?&q=Pointing out the Great Way&author=Water by the River -

Right. In Infinite Being/Infinite Consciousness/Infinite Reality appears or arises or manifests human consciousness. Human consciousness has certain arising elements (certain I-feelings/I-thoughts/human cognition/body/world/....). Same for any other perspective (ant, Alien,n+1). The Infinite Reality has no/zero arisings. It is. Reality itself. And its not human. Nor alien. Nor anything at all. Because of that, it can give rise to anything (ant, orang utan, human, alien, alien n+1). That becomes obvious once the separte-self is emptied out, cut off and transcended completely and only the Infinite Vastness or Ocean of Infinite Awareness/ Infinite Being remains. Because THAT can't go anywhere else. If there is too much "human" (or human-consciousness) in the Realization of Infinite Being, maybe there is... too much human still left? That realization is the END of the human one thought one was and believed in. Exactly. And why is there quite often the talk about human consciousness or alien consciousness? Because the differentiation between the Infinite Reality/Infnite Consciousness that is always "there" and the arising perspective and its separte-being is not fully clear, because it is not fully transcended/emptied out. Not enough time on psychedelic highs to do that... Trying to get to nondual awakened states with meditation means automatically to cut off any separate-self building block (thoughts, I-thoughts, I-feeling), so its automatically trained in order to get near any awakened nondual state. Psychedelics give these nondual unity states for free, no incentive to cut off the separate-self/ego which projects itself on the new state/nondualunity/alien/whatever. And that remaining human-separation arisings (or alien-separation-arisings for that matter) kills the awakened state in daily sobre life and its inherent non-contraction/non-suffering/bliss, and disfigures any "realization" of impersonal Infinite Being by projecting the remnants of the separate-self on it. Hence, belittled mere "human" Enlightenment. Can't imagine anything else... And then add some limiting beliefs like "one needs hardcore long meditation-retreats to get anywhere" (which yours truly never really did, but collected the 1000s of hours mostly in daily life), and "genetics", and some complaints about gaslighting about ones awakenings (which is the funniest part (sorry) of it all, because how can one gaslight the self-evident-absolutely-clear-and-self-explanatory-undoubtable-and-always-available-once-reached Absolute. And what could get gaslightened? The remnants of the separate-ego, which should get transcended and smoked anyway...) et voila we have large parts of actualized.org. But to be honest, all comments/criticism aside: Without these little confusions on the way back home, no game/Lila could be possible. So its all fine. . I truly appreciate all "players" and especially our dear host. Consciousness/Reality wants this wonderful show. Else It wouldn't appear exactly as it does, in all beings/perspectives/Holons. In the end, ignorance/separation and hide-and-seek is fun. And ignorance/separation is only a bad idea from the perspective of ignorance. Infinite Consciousness/Reality likes it and obviously wants it! Else it wouldn't appear. Because who or what controls what appears? In Reality, nothing truly ever happens, just a game of moving forms and illusions in the eternal "That" which has no moving parts nor outside, and hence can not be harmed in any way. What is "That" again? Selling Gods lovely high-end hide and seek game by the River -

One can only get it when it is realized that any separate identity is false and just a wrong arising thought/feeling/concept in Infinite Being/Reality/mindstream (like 1 + 1 = 3. Just not the case). For that to happen, the mindstream needs to conform to Absolute Reality of Infinite Being/Consciousness/Suchness. Among others, the most important ones are: Nondual: Boundless infinite "field" or better Reality of the visual field Infinite: Nothing could ever be outside of it (for example other perspectives/beings that YOU forget right now in real time, although they happen in True You). Everything can only be IT. Mere appearance/illusion: Every appearance of the "world" is just empty mere appearance, hovering like a non-solid hologram ("clear light", mere appearance-emptiness) in YOUR True Infinite Being. Eternal: The appearance in that Infinite field/Reality changes, but never THAT. That can't go anywhere else. And since IT is nothing (or better: Infinite Nothingness but with the potential for sentience if appearance arises in it, made of it) already, that Reality can't disappear (field is not so correct, since True Being is dimensionless... Its not 3D or 5D, but CONTAINS all possible dimensions, however many dimensions manifest (3/4/5/n/alien/totally other/n+1). Lets call it Infinite Vastness) All ignorant/wrong concept/believes/feelings of being anything separate (mind, body, soul, whatever) seen through: are just a thought/feeling-arising-bundle arising within IT, and ignorantly believed because ones speed of awareness is too slow to cut off these illusions in real-time. Only then does one have a chance of realizing True Solipsism (although I don't like that as teaching tool, because its incomprehensible until it happens, and lead nowhere as practice), or True Enlightenment. One without a second. So its fruitless to think with a separate-self still well and alive about Solipsism, that will never "go anywhere". It is impossible. But getting the Mindstream to conform the the enlightened Mindstream (points above) so that this realization can happen, that can be done, and that is worth the effort. Then the realization can happen. My preferred and recommended tools are Mahamudra PotgW, Yoga of One Taste (for the Nondual points above, 1-4), and Yoga of Nonmeditation (to fully establish point 5, and to get rid of the meditator still "running" points 1-4. Selling Water by the River PS: When Wilber wrote No Boundary, he didn't have Full Enlightenment, just some Kenshos. But not full impersonal Enlightenment, according to his own statements. His true impersonal Enlightenment (or death of the illusion of the separate-self) happened while writing Sex, Ecology, Spirituality, and how that went down is described in One Taste. "Realizing that the separate self (of any kind) doesn't exist (beyond a mere appearing illusion), did never exist, and will or could never exist". PSPS: Problems start when remnants of the separate self hijack the identity of/as "Absolute Solipsism". That would be something like the Infinity of Gods(-Egos). Does that sound like One Being, Solipsism? Or more like an Infinity of God-Egos inflated and projected on Infinity. The true intuition that there is only One Reality/Being, but that not cleansed from separate-self/ego/personality-elements. Hence, no stable nondual realization in daily life with the 5 points of Awakened Nondual Awareness above accessible anytime. That confusion can be similiar to the stage of Yoga of One Taste, which already brings Nondual States (like psychedelics also do), but Enlightenment doesn't happen there yet, because the remaining separate-self is not cleansed via the Yoga of Nonmeditation. It is not truly impersonal yet. True Being is utterly utterly impersonal (hence, IT fits into all individual mindstreams), and yet contains the personality and its individual traits arising within IT. And that is what you truly are. So nothing than an illusion of being something else than THAT is lost. -

Yup. "The Absolute Side of the street is happening moment to moment out of this Unborn I-am-ness all of this is issuing forth moment to moment. And you are IT. There is not another Soul any place in the entire universe. You are IT. All I am is a figment in your dream and you you've orchestrated all of this, and as you sit with that one self extraordinary aloneness can set in". And: There is not another single alien in the entire Multiverse. And yet the alien appears . Jesus never was. And yet "he" appeared. To whom? It's all you us me Me. Uhum. Its all your true face before your parents were born. Who is dying in Ukraine? Who is winning Olympic Gold? And who is "everyone" in between? Believing to be anything separate and the "world" out there. What a mindf***of ignorance marvelous illusionary dream-play of mistaken identity. Who is reading all of this again? Shhh. Don't spoil the God Ego fun! Its the last (and also wrong, incorrect, aka ignorant) identity before all identities, lenses and filters of separation (aka identities of any kind) - and with that all remaining ignorance and its corresponding suffering/resistance - can and is transcended. One is still one too many... Beyond that: The final removal of the self-contraction of any identity and its inherent resistance/suffering. God-Egos still resist (aka psychologically suffer)... David Spangler, Subtle Worlds, An Explorer's Field Notes, Chapter 8 Soul "The soul, to me, is the ultimate origin point for each of our incarnations (you will note that I take reincarnation for granted and always have, particularly since that experience when I was seven). It is who we actually are, a hyperdimensional consciousness existing in what I think of as the “soul levels” of the higher-order worlds. By its very nature, the soul generally cannot take full incarnation in the physical world. There is too much of it, so to speak, and it is too differently configured as a higher dimensional being and consciousness, to fit into this three-dimensional space. What does incarnate, however, is a part of the soul that organizes itself specifically for taking the incarnational journey into the earth. I think of it as a fractal of the soul." No problem to create such a game as Infinite Reality. Just spark some more dimensions/Holons that carry this information from lifetime to lifetime. Seen from a mathematical perspective no problem, the mathematics of our realm can handle an Infinity of (even nested and fractal) dimensions easily. So it is easy for Infinite Being to play this game, since already our realm-mathematics can do it, and that mathematics is contained in Infinite Reality. Infinite Reality doesn't have to, but can play this game (one of the many alternatives to a sophisticated multi-life-dream with souls is for example spawning an on-the-fly dream at night with imagined background-story also no problem (believed even if totally incoherent, like "where did I park my car"). And in the end its all illusion and appearance, including this higher dimensional soul. But with relative reality/appearance to it. But as long as this Karma-Soul-Game is played, and one is not immune to suffering, better respect the rules of the game... Although my view is higher than the sky, my respect for the cause and effect of actions is as fine as grains of flour. -Padmasambhava Btw., this is not idle speculation, but direct experience of Spangler and many others. For example Jac O'Keffee, Jürgen Ziewe, Chris Bache, and many many others over the millenia. -

“As we said, Zen masters talk about Emptiness all the time! But they have a practice and a methodology (zazen) which allows them to discover the transcendental referent via their own developmental signified, and thus their words (the signifiers) remain grounded in experiential, reproducible, fallibilist criteria.” Ken Wilber, Sex, Ecology, Spirituality: The Spirit of Evolution -

Nobody who has ever had Enlightenment/truly woke up would consider Infinite Being/Absolute Reality human. In Leos wording: THAT is so alien and way off the charts (and by definition unexpected) that it literally kills the human. Sayonara, bye bye, was nice with you, but was clearly the illusion "human" (or any other limited identity, like, um, alien) will never ever reassemble itself fully or be truly believed. Character-hangover ok, but truly believed and bought into being human and separate? Like: This is REALLY SERIOUS ... No way. Actually, IT is not even alien. It just is. What it is. And it is just YOU. But definitely not human. Leo, IT contains and manifests/imagines your aliens! How could IT then be human? Of course it is not human Your alien can not be outside of IT! And you are IT! And every being also... Koan: Who are all of Leos aliens again? Guess some are still a bit shell-shocked by the fact of turtles and aliens all the way up. Basking in the sun by the River and smiling at the beings deriving their limited identity from being fascinated by the turtles/waves/aliens (all the way up to Infinity) in the River, which are not realizing their true identities (on a permanent basis) as being the Infinite River because they are too busy wave-surfing on the River. And that continues until it is no more fun, looses its fascination, and the wave drops in the River and dissolves into Infinite Being. Relaxing in the knowledge by the River that this dropping & dissolving can not really be expedited or convinced, but each wave must run out of steam according to its Karmic hangover... For the teutonic fraction among us: "Geduld ist das Schwerste und das Einzige, was zu lernen sich lohnt. Is there Infinity all the way up and all the way down already in mathematics of this little realm? Yup. So the Infinite Reality that contains this little realm already contains turtles all the way up, and all the way down. An Infinity of parallel realms needs to be managed, created and sustained by an Infinity of turtles (Aliens, Gods, Beings, Holons) all the way up. Imagine it like a pyramid with an infinitely large base. Height? Infinity. There is no top. Infinity in all directions. Quote WbtR and quote Leo. So… realize the Suchness of all of that, and relax… or go turtle on turtle on turtle climbing for INFINITY. Sorry, Infinity. Koan: What is the Suchness of all of that actually? Koan: And what is the end of all of these turtles? What is the actually non existing top of that pyramid which has no top? What is the essence of all these turtles?
