Nemra replied to Nemra's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Hey everyone. Do you think that psychedelic visuals or other sensory experiences could deeply affect your understanding of reality, or do you view them as you would in your normal state? -

@Someone here, I don't know about you, but I'm glad that I did take a risk to travel and try it at least once. It is worth a lot even if I understood a tiny bit of that experience. Now, it's a bit disappointing that I won't get into that state naturally but it sure is a huge motivation to change my situation. -

You are so wrong about it. -

@Someone here, why don't you save money and travel to do psychedelics? -
🙌 @Leo Gura, that video makes me tear up every time.

@TruthFreedom, you could have responded to me saying that I'm (me, not you) wrong without changing the topic and wasting your time to make fun of me. -

@TruthFreedom, at least you don't fully believe she exists. That's a progress. But still, your transitions are not good yet. It needs a lot of work. -

@TruthFreedom, but remember to eat them how your mother taught you and not believe that you are eating them so you don't get surprised why you are hungry. -

The transition wasn't smooth. Try to work on improving it next time but without believing that you are good at it. -

@TruthFreedom, what is indirect is what you believe in; however, that belief is experienced directly. Believing in something won't make you experience it directly, as in, your experience will only have that belief but not the actual thing. For example, believing that you are sick is different than being sick. Notice that you either have to have experienced what being sick is or see other sick people to be able to believe you are or could be sick. -

@TruthFreedom, beliefs are in your direct experience. If you believe in something, you are directly experiencing that belief. What's indirect is the thing you believe in. -
I think that the reason why God is thought of as a separate being is that survival requires people to think of the world as materialistic. Atheists are more honest about that than religious people. I think that religious people are actually materialists lost in spiritual beliefs.

@PurpleTree, If he's special, then that makes him not special. 😁 -
Another important point of the video could be that knowing and not knowing shouldn't be taken for granted if you claim to know or not know things.

I agree. Those proofs should be viewed from that perspective and not as if they're outside and separate from that observation. I think it's easy to miss that. By default, people would consider themselves to be outside from the observation, yet without it, they couldn't know anything.
-
An important thing to notice is that all of the "proofs" in the video are based on observation. So there is an assumption that based on observation we can come to a conclusion.

Got it. You don't like it.

@Leo Gura, I forgot to suggest the band "Imagine Dragons" to you. Their songs have a similar vibe to the song mentioned above but are darker.

I got goosebumps. It's so good.

@Leo Gura, what I wanted to say is that visual and auditory fields are distinct. Not only are there good shapes but also good sounds for each person. For example, a person could be not that appealing to me visually, yet the whole auditory experience, i.e., their voice, intonation, the meaning and the rhythm of their words, could make them more appealing than their shape. That's why I said you can use your imagination when you look only at a shape. For example, I can imagine people's voices as if they're talking next to me. It often is more real to me, as in, it can take the whole auditory experience than the imagined image in my visual field.
-
Of course, that's why you can use your imagination. 😏 At least for me, good shapes aren't enough. Also, I have a different taste of a good shape which isn't that popular.
-
Not only that, but also behavior.

Those labs aren't secret bioweapons labs.

@Leo Gura, do the following questions reflect yours? Why do people's experiences of reality vary so widely? What actually creates those experiences?
