Is it really important and necessary to sleep with 20 girls?
I had zero skill and I'm not built different. It's just massive experience.
Getting failed approaches means nothing after a while. 10 failed approaches is a typical night in pickup.
You just need way more approaches.
It can feel like that. Warm up is important. But you also build up skill which doesn't go away.
It takes thousands of approaches to get good.
Your first 1000 approaches will suck. It's no problem. You will get a tiny bit better from each approach.
You just need way more approaches and to trust the process. You are guaranteed to get better if you do 2000 approaches.

  2. Contemplating the side effects of being a coder
Contemplating the side effects of being a coder
@1x0 That's right, there is a trade-off between being a technician versus being a big picture thinker.
Project leads do very little actual coding. So you have to decide what you want out of life: Do you love coding so much that you want to be a master hands-on coder, or do you love other things more, like management, big picture thinking, business strategy, etc? In that case, you must surrender your desire for hands-on coding.
It's sort of the difference between being a bricklayer and an architect. If you love to lay bricks you shouldn't become an architect.
There is no right or wrong answer. It is perfectly acceptable to just enjoy the art and science of coding or bricklaying. It's not always better to be a project lead. You can just be a master coder. Then again, coding can be quite dehumanizing and a waste of life. Do you really want to be sitting behind a computer screen for 12 hours per day? Is there something more fun and valuable that you could be doing? Does the world really need another code monkey? Or could your creative talents be put to better use?
But it's not just about getting more money for your time. You must enjoy the thing you're doing. So if coding is what you genuinely most enjoy, then do that. The trick is, there are probably other things you enjoy more but haven't discovered yet. So then your task would be to discover that.
Personally I don't enjoy management so I avoid positions where I have to manage lots of people. I would rather be working independently, doing my art. But that's me. Some people love to work in groups and manage others. It all depends on your personality type.

Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
Just look at his videos and teachings. He's still busy chasing girls.
He's still basically teaching guys how to get laid.
    He's dead-set against them.
Of course because they would change him. Owen has a pretty massive ego. It won't go down without a fight.

  4. Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
I don't see that his content has really changed, he's just rebranded it to avoid mainstream backlash.
He's still fundamentally stuck on chasing girls. He can't seem to get that out of his system. I think that to truly evolve he would have to give up chasing girls. That seems like his biggest attachment, so he's in a tough spot. How do you surrender the very thing which made you who you are? What would Owen even do with himself if he wasn't chasing girls? He's not the kind of guy who can sit around all day peacefully under a tree.
I'm not denying that there are spiritual aspects to his work, but he's been talking about spirituality for over 10 years. So that's not new. It's spiritual, but not that deep.

  5. Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
Seems like he's stressed out, over-worked, and let himself go a bit.
He's like a hamster in a wheel, running hard but staying in the same place.

  6. Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
My guess is that he just loves food a lot. Little addictions can be really hard to break. Addictions that are not necessarily directly destroying your life, but still have a negative impact on you in the long run. Addictions like food, cigarettes and porn

  7. Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
Does Owen Cook want to be Fat?
I don't understand why Owen Cook is still fat.
He's filthy rich, "has his own gym", doesn't drink, eats organic food & "hasn't got sick since 2012".
Yet he's somehow fat still wtf ?
Tbf I think it suits him more than skinny some reason, makes him more amusing but still I don't get it, he's not an Endomorph either I don't think.
    * Also why do so many of these self help guys not workout & get muscular either? Such a basic easy habit but so many don't do it (although it wouldn't suit Owen).

  8. How do you use Twitter?
    How do you use Twitter?
Depends on what you want to get out of it. With X, same as other platforms, consistency is a key. Daily tweeting, ideally about trending topics related to your business os rewarded more than irregular tweets. If you can post multiple times a day, even better
Aim for short and consistent catchy titles, not long elaborate articles, that's more for LinkedIn.
Reposting and resharing other people's tweets is what the algorithms reward as well. It's how you start growing network by having your post re shared by bigger accounts... obviously don't expect Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos to reshare so scale accordingly and find accounts that are slightly bigger but not massive.
X doesn't like when you pull people away from the platform so it's all about engagement with a particular statement rather than having people, for example, click a link and download something or book a call. You're free to have that in your bio but it should not be the aim. X wants to maximise user's time on the platform so if you work against that rule, your posts won't be seen
I think the best way to get started is to observe accounts you aspire towards, who do what you do but are larger.
Also spend some time practicing posting for Twitter. Maybe take an interesting article and practice writing about it in 60-100 characters focusing on engagement. Gpt can be pretty good for that to help you practice and give feedback but make sure to pay for premium.
Also, maybe this is more long term but don't forget about voice & tone consistency. It's not just about saying something but about how you say it and how consistent you are saying it this way. It's part of your branding - voice & tone guidelines. Throw it into GPT as well and he'll tell you more about it. It is what builds credibility with your audience and what makes your brand recognisable and trustworthy, people like being able to predict your behaviour in a way. Think of successful businesses, podcasters, they all do this in some way and when they don't, you're like "wait, that's weird, why do you say it like that"
    Good luck

  9. Your purpose is a shipwreck
    Your purpose is a shipwreck
I watched an interview of a guy that was shipwrecked for almost a full year at sea the other day. He & his family survived by drinking turtle blood & eating raw birds.
Imagine the seriousness that comes when your survival is at stakes like that. There is absolutely zero space for pettiness in this kind of situation. Now realize that your purpose literally is your survival. Imagine yourself being shipwrecked into your purpose. The only thing you can afford in this situation is to put all of your effort on it. If you slack off & waste your time online or engaged in petty bs you will be swept away. You won’t starve but your passion & love for life is going to be sucked out of you. You’ve got no other choice but to take the hardship head on. And make no mistake, it WILL be hard.
Now imagine the relief & exaltation that comes from any kind of progress you make. Imagine catching your first meal in 8 days. Imagine how satisfying that raw bird would be. Imagine how grateful you would be for rainfall & any kind of dirty water bottle floating by to help you collect it. Eventually you might even land on a deserted island. You are not out of it yet but now you have fire & soon enough, shelter. Imagine the total absorption your psyche would be in with the situation. Every single opportunity is embraced. Every single step you take, you thank God for. Every day you wake up in the morning is a victory.
I started keeping a logbook of my purpose. Every day I write what happened, what could be improved upon, what the next step is & how I feel about all of it. I imagine myself being alone on a tiny sailboat & the only way I will make it that day is through my own strength, courage & determination. My purpose is as serious to me as being shipwrecked in the middle of the pacific & I love the thrill of it. I love the adventure of it. I love who I have become to live & thrive in the chaos of it. My purpose is a shipwreck.

No but I am glad I did not pick this life path. Being in left brain autism mode for 8 hours a day is just hell and I think unironically makes you less human.

    Why is Leo Gura rich?
Almost anyone else in my position would monetize Actualized.org by a factor of 5x-10x more.
I have literally left millions in profits on the floor.
I've given that up simply to pursue my personal spiritual development and topics I like to talk about.
I'm rich relative to an average dude. But I'm much less rich than I would be if I cared about profits instead of consciousness.
The money makes me uncorruptable by any corporate forces.

I am fortunate I've never been addicted to success.  I had my head in the philosophy books too much for that.  So I had the opposite problem, kind of an eschewing of success, a pooh-poohing of success.  And that caused a lot of suffering in my life and for my business.  I think there's a balance.  Do your business, but try to keep it as green as possible.  Chasing success was something I was never able to do, although there were moments in my life where I really wanted to.  Those all backfired on me.  Ego ultimately backfires.  Business isn't inherently bad though, as long as you keep your priorities straight and your head screwed on tight.  Business is a way of sharing your gifts with the world.  I have a little business myself which could use a couple heaps of love and care.  We forget that our businesses are like organisms, like systems, which need the right kinds of care to survive, let alone flourish.

No, it's the opposite. It's an escape from spiritual practice.
The mind is extremely crafty. It's sole job is to keep you a hamster in a wheel.
It may appear arrogant, but I'm just explaining a deep dynamic of how the egoic mind works. It's nothing personal.
A proper move in relation to living life and being a good human being. This is not a subjective thing. If he did what I'm saying, he himself would come back in 10 years and tell you, "OMG!!!!! I was so wrong that way I used to live. My life has been saved."
It's sorta like you find a mental patient hitting his head against the wall and you tell him, "Hey, it would be better if you stopped doing that." And he responds, "What?!! How dare you tell me what will and won't make me happy! Do you really claim to know what will make me most happy in his life? You're so arrogant!"
With a bit of awareness, it's not a giant leap to realize that hitting one's head against the wall cannot lead to happiness, no matter how well its done. This is not a matter of personal style or values. It's just a feature of being human. Humans don't like getting their heads beat in.
Success has zero to do with happiness. Success is about ego-perpetuation. Success is specifically designed to NEVER make you happy. Because that's counter to what is necessary for the ego's survival. The ego wants you in constant action without fulfillment. Because fulfillment means the end of action under that paradigm.
Look behind all the sophistication, and you'll see that Elon Musk is just a hamster in a wheel chasing an imaginary piece of cheese. A chimp in outer space is still a chimp.
I don't say that to be mean to Musk. He's a decent guy trying to do the best he can. And he's certainly better than 90% of businessmen out there. But I say it because there's a deep lesson here that you guys are still failing to grasp: the ego utterly dominates all your motivations and desires. So much so that you're having a hard time seeing it. It has corrupted you through and through.
This has nothing to do with me chasing enlightenment. Or trying to preach enlightenment at people. I just understand success. It's EXTREMELY addictive. There's really very little difference between a heroin addict and a businessman, other than how our culture frames it. Except businessmen are actually 1000x more dangerous and harmful to society than heroin addicts.
Start to mindfully observe how every day you're being a hamster in a wheel. You will be SHOCKED at what you find. Don't be surprised if a few days of such careful observation sends you into a depression. That's about appropriate.
Success is like food. Some degree of it is necessary for survival. But you can eat consciously, or your can eat unconsciously the way 99% of people do.

  14. Elon Musk Life Style

@Edvard You cannot escape the consciousness problem. Going to Mars will not solve anything. All your consciousness problems will come with you. If humanity cannot make on this planet, it certainly won't make it on Mars.
I'm not saying he has to become an enlightenment teacher. But he would benefit from becoming enlightened himself. That would give him a proper sense of priorities and recontextualize all his technological striving. It would also make him happy.
What is the point of changing the whole world if you cannot be happy? Sacrificing one's own happiness is NOT a solution. It's ignorance. If even a billionaire cannot be happy and pursue consciousness, what hope does that give the rest of the world? It says we're all screwed. Given his power, he could have a massive impact on the world's collective consciousness if he first became conscious himself.
All this just goes to show the depth of the consciousness problem. It's VERY deep.

  15. Elon Musk Life Style
    Elon Musk Life Style
    A) You cannot accept something you're not conscious of. His "sacrifice" is out of ignorance.
    B) He would be able to help humanity more if he first made himself consciousness of what consciousness is.
    C) What humanity needs most is not more technology, but consciousness! We have enough technology to all live happily forever. What we lack is the consciousness necessary to do so. Technology without consciousness is the greatest existential threat to humanity. So he may very well end up killing us all. That's what happens when you put the cart before the horse.
I don't want to sound like I'm criticizing him or that he's a bad guy. He's not a bad guy. He's doing the best he knows. He's just not conscious of the bigger picture and how he's robbing himself of joy.
Jesus wasn't kidding when he said: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." That's the case here. When you have 15 billion dollars, it's extremely hard to give up that kind of power. You become its slave.

  17. "Does my ass look fat?"
    "Does my ass look fat?"
I def know she wasn't looking to end it.

  18. "Does my ass look fat?"
    "Does my ass look fat?"
As soon as I told her the truth she got so offended that was the end.
The truth was a dagger to her heart.

  19. "Does my ass look fat?"
    "Does my ass look fat?"
My girlfriend once asked me that.
I skillfully dodged the question with a distracting joke.
But then I went to sleep that night and didn't feel right for dodging the truth.
So next morning I called her and told her her butt was fat.
That was the end of that relationship.
    The cost of truth.

  20. Is it a coincidence that many geniuses are good at mathematics
Is it a coincidence that many geniuses are good at mathematics
When I say « real mathematics » what I mean is the good way of doing math to me. The effective way. The productive way. The way of doing math where you are actually doing real work rather than just superficially jumping hoops when everything deep has already been prepared for you.
It would requires to come back to the very basis of maths. Having a very good theoretical foundation and then building your reasoning on a solid ground where you actually understand everything that’s happening. Understanding the demonstration of the theorems and tools you are using is very useful. You can spend days on that while your classmates will laugh at you saying that they just use the theorem and it is working and that you are just wasting time. The problem though is that when confronted with an exercise that requires you to visualise with precision. They ll be completely lost whereas people who did the real work will have a chance to see and solve the problem.

But in most universities you’ll never have or very rarely have such exercices. It’s like maths is finding you way in the Amazon forest and maths taught in school are more likely to be a fake artificial forest where every interesting skills that are requires in the amazon forest are no longer useful and now you just need to learn that when you see this you should turn left and when you see that you should jump…
(ps: I might be a little hard though. maybe in the top top universities, something close to the real work can be done)

  21. Leo, should I throw in the towl for a more direct path?
Leo, should I throw in the towl for a more direct path?
I used to be bad at math in high school, but then there was a girl in my class I had a crush on, who was a straight A student and was always competing with others, especially in math. I decided to impress her and started putting effort into math and soon became an A student as well. I ended up dating her and after our little romance, my interest in math dropped down, which led me to have an epiphany that my grades were precisely proportional to my level of motivation. So I learned that I really wasn't bad at math, but I just had never had proper force motivating me before.
Chances are that you are suffering from lack of motivaton, or the feeling of powerelessness. If it's the latter, then it's good to remember that in the end it's actually a really small area of math you need to handle in those tests; usually it's just statistics. It's a small area but challenging enough to require effort and input. It might seem overwhelming, but once you get on track, it starts making sense surprisingly much. If you can't put in the effort, then it might not be a bad idea to check  your motives one more time.
I know people who applied to psychology. One guy I know got in the secound time he applied, another one applied at least 4 times, not sure if he ever got in. What seperates those two people is the fact that the guy who got in worked his ass out and attended a math course that was designed for the test, whereas the other guy didn't. And guess what, the guy who got in was bad at math.

  22. Leo, should I throw in the towl for a more direct path?
Leo, should I throw in the towl for a more direct path?
I was bad at math too. It was my weakest area.
You can just buckle down and grind through it. It won't matter once you get a real job. No one cares about your math.
But only you can decide whether quitting is right for you. Don't outsource your executive decisions to others. That's a bad habit.

    "Grossly inexperienced with women"!
If you don't escalate it IS because you are too afraid of rejection and also you are disconnected from your own sexual desire for her.
If you listened to your sexual desire you would escalate rather than doubt yourself.
