  1. Because animals are blessed with being less conscious than humans. So they don't suffer nearly as much.
  2. I think the fucked up part is that I also don't know if I don't know.. So "I know that I don't know" is nuts. It fucks up your head.. I guess it's a strangeloop or whatever Leo likes to call it. Or just a paradox. Whatever.
  3. A good article imo: https://highexistence.com/consciousness-spiritual-perspective/ I like "panspiritism", it feels right to me and makes sense etc. That Steve Taylor guy has also wrote a book called "Spiritual Science". Description of the book: "It is often assumed that there are two ways of interpreting the world: a rational scientific way, or an irrational religious way. Spiritual Science offers a third alternative: a spiritual view of reality that transcends both conventional science and religion, and answers many of the riddles that neither can explain. The standard model of science has had little success in explaining such areas as human consciousness, the connection between the mind and the body, altruism and ‘anomalous’ phenomena such as near-death experiences, psi phenomena (such as telepathy) and spiritual experiences. But from a ‘panspiritist’ point of view – which sees spirit or consciousness as a fundamental essence of reality – it is possible to make sense of all these things. Steve Taylor puts forward the evidence for a spiritual view of reality, drawing on the insights of philosophers, physicists, mystics, as well as spiritual traditions and indigenous cultures. He systematically shows how a ‘panspiritist’ view can explain many puzzling aspects of science and the world, including evolution and the origins of life, and a wide range of other phenomena such as quantum physics, the placebo effect, precognition and neuroplasticity. Spiritual Science offers a new vision of the world that is compatible with both modern science and ancient spiritual teachings. It provides a more accurate and holistic account of reality than conventional science or religion, integrating a wide range of phenomena that are excluded from both. After showing how the materialist worldview demeans the world and human life, Spiritual Science offers a brighter alternative – a vision of the world as sacred and interconnected, and of human life as meaningful and purposeful. Spiritual Science explains how the standard materialist model of reality developed, and turned into a belief system. This belief system can only function by denying (or explaining away) a whole range of phenomena that are part of human experience. It is possible to be scientific without adopting this belief system – in fact, it is much more rational to do so." @Leo Gura
  4. Well, I would start with questioning the notion that you have created reality. That people say that you have created reality doesn't necessarily mean it's true.
  5. @Dazgwny @neovox Could be just unreal hallucinations. It's just that you believe that the experience showed the Truth. Many other people have chosen to believe that such experiences which they have had are unreal hallucinations.
  6. Don't you guys ever get tired of fantasizing? Shouldn't you at some point admit to yourself that you don't know? In this thread there are as many different "answers" (beliefs) to the question as there are posts in this thread.
  7. So imagine/experience that you own a Ferrari SF90 Stradale.
  8. No. But people in this thread will come with all kind of beliefs and fantasies.
  9. Thanks. Only unrealistic things, like: if I would win a million USD, if suffering in the world would cease, if Sweden would join NATO, if I wouldn't suck, and some other things. Thanks ? 1. I don't know. 2. No. 3. No. 4. - 5. I meant that I don't have hope. 6. Same as #5. 7. The theory sounds good but in reality it doesn't work like that. 8. Same as #7. Whatever
  10. Thanks But my experience tells me that it will only get worse. But that's of course just me.
  11. Interesting again. I have been locked up in psychiatric hospital several times and I didn't get traumatized at all. It was quite a pleasant place. But a few times I witnessed (heard) someone get a massive horrific panic attack. Running around and screaming like.. I don't know what. Before that I wasn't really aware of how bad such mental disorders can really be.
  12. Interesting. Where I live they would have locked you up in psychiatric hospital against your will.
  13. Therapy, anti depressants and other medicine, etc.
  14. I have already gave solutions a try. It seems like Dunnel has too.
  15. Not sure if that was a joke. But that's just a fantasy. In reality you will never want to actually do it, or be able to do it.
  16. @Dunnel If quantum immortality is true (google it), then the risk is that you will miraculously survive it, but with permanent injuries. But if it's super duper high up then the survival risk should drop to 0% in all universes, in that case, you will survive by finding yourself in a universe where you didn't decide to jump at all. So that's another reason why it should be super duper high up, just to be sure.
  17. If you jump, make sure it's high up enough, instead of just turning a bad situation into worse if you get paralyzed for life or something. When it's about buildings the height should be at least 10 stories up, not sure what it translates to feet or meters. Sorry to hear about your situation. I don't want to live either.
  18. And what is the evidence for that? It's just a belief.
  19. No it's not worth it. But you don't really have a choice. What choice do you have?

  21. @Just Timothy Congratulations. I love being put under general anesthesia. For me it wasn't like normal sleep. It was much better than that. In normal sleep I have some kind of basic perception of time or dreams or something, difficult to explain. But in general anesthesia it was totally lights out. No difference between 1 minute or 10000000000 years, in normal sleep the difference would defi-fucking-nitely be super obvious. It's so fucking fascinating. Mind blowing. I want to experience it again. Like, how the fuck is it possible. Enjoy the expe.. Sorry I mean the mindblowingly total lack of experience.
  22. That he doesn't answer, or even read my private message.
  23. No I don't. But also you don't know that the stuff they experienced is real.
