  1. Not sure what you mean, but no.
  2. Because they aren't free to do that stuff (they get hate, people judge them).
  3. I don't care, net negative is fine. Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are willing to suffer and die for freedom.
  4. Please show me that God. Where is he? Nowhere to be seen.
  5. Simple rule: let people do (and don't judge) what they want with their own fucking bodies. How hard can it be. This is the basics of freedom. Btw, that also means that of course selling and buying sex should be legal.
  6. Yes, he's a good litmus test. The Ukraine war is a good litmus test too.. Actually I found a meme with both Putin and Trump: Trump works hard for Putin.
  7. This is currently just my personal belief, I could be wrong. (I'm saying this because I don't want to get banned.): The reason why life sucks so much is because it's a accidental result of the laws of physics at work. You know, just some stuff bouncing around for billions years and then life just happens because the right conditions accidentally happen. And this enlightenment stuff is just wishful thinking. A coping mechanism. And enlightenment experiences are just hallucinations and delusions. But I'm still open minded to other possibilities. I just currently can't believe in any nice theories about reality. I have suffered too much. Just saying where this soul is on the journey..
  8. True. Have fun waiting, hit me up when we suddenly have conscious computers.
  9. I haven't watched the video yet, but the AI discussion isn't about whether AI will become conscious and understand or not. The discussion is about that AI will be able to solve things and do things, even by itself. But that doesn't require understanding or consciousness. For example we humans are made by random processes (evolution), which are 100% unconscious and dumb, nature/the evolutionary process doesn't understand anything, it's just some random shit, yet humans is the result. That also explains why everything is so imperfect, ugly, shitty, and why there's so much misery, suffering, evil, inequality, etc. (Of course some people think that there is a God who is super-smart who consciously created everything, but that's just a belief. There's no proof for that.) Obviously AI will never become conscious or understand anything, yet it will create a lot of things. It already has.
  10. And you thinking that it's just a belief: that isn't a belief? It's funny when people in this forum think that they are immune to beliefs and tell to other people: "that's just a belief which you have", but they don't realize that it's they themselves who are suffering from beliefs. It's weird. I mean, if you are accusing someone of something.. You should first check that you aren't the one doing what you accuse others of. I don't think that's too much asked.
  11. What? Why would he say something like that? That is horrible.
  12. It's not alien consciousness. Stones don't experience anything at all. That's what I was thinking too.
  13. It wouldn't be fun to be stuck like that, unable to move, unable to die, unable to do anything. Don't even spread such thoughts..
  14. Awareness is not a thought or a realization. Awareness "sees" thoughts, realizations, etc. For awareness there is no difference between drinking bleach and drinking purified water. Like the sun is shining equally on both shit and flowers. Or like your eyes don't care if they see cute cats or Russian soldiers, the "caring" part happens in the brain, not in the eyes.
  15. Sighs deeply...... I don't think that they are conscious.
  16. Of course it's a pretext. And most experts think that too. How would it sound like if Putin would say: "Ukraine and west isn't a threat to Russia, but I'm invading Ukraine because I'm a imperialist"? He would be insane if he would tell the truth.
  17. For a good reason. You are also stuck in your perspective on this.
  18. @Davino I haven't read a single negative article about that guy. My assessment of people is completely independent. So just because he is popular in India, and in Hinduism, is a influential person in spirituality, has wrote books, etc., you think that he's a awesome guy who knows the truth? Looks like you are unable to make independent assessments of people.
  19. Or well, his agenda was also to consolidate power. To strengthen his position, the regime's position, and make him more popular in Russia. The Crimea thing was a success so he wanted more of the same. That's what happens when a dictator gets what he wants. That's why you shouldn't give in to dictators.
  20. I disagree that it's Putin's agenda. Putin's agenda is to make Russia bigger and more powerful, he wants Soviet Union back. That is his only agenda. "If you want to avoid war you don't moralize to people, you listen to their boundaries." So we should let dictators rule over us? We should do what they want? Do you understand that that leads to a rabbit hole where those who threatens and uses offensive violence wins and then they will just ask for more and more until they have taken over everything? https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2022/07/15/i-once-supported-putin-now-i-know-the-truth-00031740 https://ridl.io/the-west-through-the-eyes-of-russians/ "The demonized image of Europe and the West in general which dominates in the minds of Russians today has been wholly created by the Kremlin and its obedient media. The anti-Western campaign currently waged by pro-Kremlin media is by no means the first but it is characterized by its hitherto unprecedented scale and duration which is capable of effectively changing not only superficial judgements of Russians, as it was before, but of exerting a more profound and long-term impact on the average psychological profile and hence the future of Russian-Western relations. Contemporary Russia had experienced the first large-scale anti-Western campaign even before the process of propaganda institutionalization was launched. Against the backdrop of the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO forces in 1999, most of the major Russian media outlets took an unwaveringly pro-Serbian stance, ignoring the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo and focusing on the need to support the Orthodox Slavic brothers – a relevant topic given recent events. As a result, the narrative of NATO bombing entirely blameless Serbia for the sake of geopolitical ambitions was firmly instilled in the minds of Russians. Amenable public opinion, prone to manipulation, was shaped in quite a predictable way and old phobias inherited by new Russia from the Soviet Union immediately surfaced, since no large-scale de-Sovietization has ever taken place. As a result, in 1999, half of the Russian respondents interviewed by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) stated that they believed that the USA was an external enemy of Russia and was capable of waging a war against it (nearly one third of Russians shared this view in 1997). In general, negative perceptions of the USA held by Russian citizens rose from 28% to 72%."
  21. 1. Even if Russia would be completely surrounded by Nato, it wouldn't threat Russia's sovereignty. It's a threat only to Russia's imperialistic aggressive offensive expansion. 2. The war in eastern Ukraine before 24 February 2022 already made it impossible for Ukraine to join Nato. So a full scale invasion wasn't necessary to prevent Ukraine from joining Nato. It's Ukraine which seeks west. And as a sovereign country it has the right to do that. Sad to see that you are buying the Russian propaganda. https://www.iir.cz/lies-provocations-or-myths-pretexts-nato-and-the-ukraine-crisis
  22. I'd say that we do know about astronomy, we know that it's bs. I haven't seen anything which indicates that astronomy works, and science hasn't either.
