Thanks! I agree it's quite a key insight. When we don't even know what we most want to do with our life, we tend to resort to distractions.

Once you can truly say that every activity you are doing in your day-to-day life is what you would be doing if it were your last days, you are death-proof. This would mean that every activity that you are doing is intrinsically motivated. It takes work to get to that point though, with a big piece of the puzzle being financial freedom.

This is fucking gold. Thank you @Razard86

I just googled his name and this came up. How did you know that he ran that site?

I've seen Leo, many other people, and health practitioners, recommend that you should take 2 urine tests for heavy metal toxicity. One urine test for measuring your heavy metal levels without chelating agents. And one urine test for measuring your heavy metal levels with chelating agents. But I don't quite understand why we should take two. Why not just take one urine test with chelating agents? How would the treatment be different if you took two urine tests?

I watched a video where Leo says: "Why not live your life inspired? Why not live your life inspiring others?" He was crying while he was saying it. I heard it 2 years ago (don't know how old the actual video is) but it moved me so much that I still remember it to this day. I could feel how much emotion was behind the words he was saying which really resonated with me. I want to hear it again. Does anyone know what video it is?

I don’t plan on only doing one or the other in the future, but at the moment with the limited energy I have with my health issues I need to do whatever gives me the most ROI. I know Yoga is a key technique for Moksha/Enlightenment, and while that is one of my goals, I am putting more priority on the results it could bring to my chronic fatigue and gut issues. After I resolve that, then I can focus more on higher pursuits. So which should I do for now? Kriya Yoga or Meditation? There will likely be people saying do both, but I think doing 20 minutes of one technique well is better than splitting two different techniques into 10 minutes each. I plan on increasing the amount of time I practice the technique down the line but I am not as energetic as I used to be so I need to start small.

@BipolarGrowth Timestamp?

@Fearey Okay I see. I’ve taken multiple different MBTI tests and I get INTP a lot more times than I get INTJ. I had experienced a phase a while ago where I was wondering whether I was actually an INTP or an INTJ mistyped as an INTP. I had read a book called “My True Type” and it further confirmed that I was an INTP. However, on the outside I am much more like an INTJ. There are people that talk about how some INTPs have the ability to sort of “switch” to an INTJ (as well as its cognitive stack) since “J” types tend to be more favoured in terms of productivity and getting real-world results. INTJs tend to favour real-world results more than INTPs, whereas INTPs value understanding for its own sake more. It’s just preferences so it’s not a bad thing. Every MBTI type has its own place in society so I don’t think any type is necessarily better than the other.

@Leo Gura So if the second test (the one where you’re provoking heavy metals with chelation agents) shows more heavy metals in the results compared to unprovoked, then the chelation is working? Doubting what? Doubting whether the chelation is actually working?

@Average Investor Provoked with chelation or unprovoked? Why not?

I don't understand this analogy. Can you elaborate?

In what ways? Could you be more specific? Theoretically I can move to Thailand and work online – not just yet though since I’m under 18. It’s a LCOL area but I don’t know what the living conditions are like there – or what the quality of food is there, which is important to me since I have health issues. Being cheap with food is not an option for me so I wouldn’t be able to follow the philosophy of “only eat ramen” that some business gurus propose. I don’t think that’s a good strategy regardless of whether you have health issues or not. I recall @Yarco saying that being in Thailand is having life with cheat codes on. Yarco, what do you think about being there as a form of “semi-retirement” while one works on their business?

I will come back to this post 3 months from now to ask you whether the relationship improved or if it just went back to the same old relationship. I hope it’s the former ?

What would a realistic overhead be for living in a one bedroom apartment all by yourself, with groceries mostly being organic food (which is relatively expensive)? I wonder how minimalistic one can get. I don’t need a lounge or a living room since I never watch TV or use couches at all. So for me, all I need is: 1 bedroom, 1 room for working/my technology setup, and 1 kitchen.

Holy shit dude... are you me? I feel the exact same way about both of my parents. I've lost thousands of hours of my life due to them dragging me around to places and gatherings I didn't want to be in. I've lost so much of my childhood and it really feels like my time has been stolen. They emotionally manipulate me and don't give a single shit about what I actually want either. They just impose their own agenda on to me. I was just about to ask if you are middle-eastern and then I scroll down and see that you are. Middle-eastern families breed narcisstic parents. Do they also tell you "I've done so much for you, the least you can do is do this for me."? It was your decision to have a child, not mine. I wasn't born with the ability to sign a contract where I had to agree "My parents will do the bare minimum to raise me, in return I will slave away my own life to meet their agenda." But they make it sound like you signed a contract — that when you were born, you had to agree to the terms of conditions of you being born, which are to become a slave to your parents emotional needs and wants. When your parents tell you that "they've done so much for you" and that they deserve something in return, they didn't actually do anything for you, they did those things to maintain their control over you.

That’s key isn’t it? It’s not preferable for them to be worse off than they are, they would prefer to be in better conditions. But if reality makes it such that their preferences can’t be met, they just accept it? Why is this a shortcoming? Why is it extremely unlikely for Ultraviolet to ever get into a situation where their survival is threatened? Is it because – due to having exhausted, or master, Stage Orange – they have mastered nourishing their survival needs? How so? Also, I have an unrelated question — I see that you were previously an INTP and now you are an INTJ. What made you realise that you were an INTJ? Or did your MBTI type just change (if that can even actually happen)?

I'm curious to see people's goals here when it comes to finances and money. Select your aspirational net worth - the net worth that you are aiming for - not your current net worth.
-
Why and how don't they see it as an issue? Are they really that content and happy with whatever experience arises in their life? What if they became homeless? Nice

What do you mean? Can you elaborate?

@Fearey Thanks for sharing. If it doesn't feel the need to seek for or try to change anything, how does it get anything accomplished? Do they get things accomplished just out of a sense of want rather than need? How do they function in day-to-day life? On a more personal note, I have a question for you; Are you happy?

@Fearey Was about to mention Zettelkasten but you beat me to it But to add to this, @benny you can look into the PKM (Personal Knowledge Management) space. LYT (Linking Your Thinking) by Nick Milo and BASB (Building a Second Brain) by Tiago Forte are great places to start off with. However, I would pay more attention to the former, as there are many parts of Tiago Forte's philosophy that I don't think are the best approaches — at least for now. No hate to Tiago though, he is one of the pioneers of this whole digital note-taking field. Also, don't take notes unless you think you've found that some excerpt from the book sparked a creative idea in you, in which case you would be making notes rather than just taking notes. Making notes is more valuable than taking notes as you are actually using your own brain and creativity, compared to taking notes where you are just writing down another person's thought process. But both of them are important. You want to take notes of the key points in the material so that you can come back to them and glance at the notes you took to jog your memory. You want to make notes so that you are actually contemplating the material for yourself and forming new creative insights, beyond just the material you are learning.

Be deliberate. You can use the forum to research certain topics that you need to work on, with the search function. Don't just randomly click on any topic unless it piques your interest and you think you can get some value out of participating it or getting new perspectives. It's not what you do but how you do it. Are you using this forum out of compulsion? Or are you using this forum out of intention? Are you conscious of how much value you're actually getting out of this forum? This forum should be tertiary to your main sources of knowledge (books, courses, etc.) This forum can be used for pulling nuggets, but it's not the best for focused learning.

I couldn't agree more. There is a law for this known as Sturgeon's Law; ninety percent of everything is crap. To add to your post: You can't just follow anyone. Even when you are not consciously following people, you are still following them - unconsciously. E.g. the people you spend the most time with every day. Other people's lifestyle "rubbing off" on you. Most people you see on the surface will have completely different goals from you. You need to vet people before investing time with them, this applies to this forum too. What are their ambitions and goals in life? - Most people are okay with mediocrity. If you are not okay with mediocrity, be wary of how much time you spend with these people. E.g. If you want to become a multi-millionaire, you need to follow people who are multi-millionaires, not people who may be developed in some other area but doesn't care about being a multi-millionaire. What are their standards? - You tend to get in life what your lowest standards are. Most people have such low standards that they're okay with working a 9-5 job 5 days a week, and spend the rest of their time drowning themselves in entertainment. That might not be you. That might be so far from what you want that you would rather kill yourself than put up with working a 9-5 job you hate for the rest of your life. So it's important to follow people that have the same standards as you, or even higher standards than you. Due to the nature of stratification and the 80/15/5 rule, 80% of the people on this forum are not getting the results they could, 15% get decent results, and 5% get amazing results. But, I would say it's more like 1% here, because the ROI you get from a forum isn't as much as you can get from other things like books, courses, masterminds, workshops, retreats, etc.

That’s why I will never drink in my life. There’s a risk I’ll get addicted to it. Alcohol only has risks without any benefits, it’s a strategic blunder that is unfortunately normalised and even encouraged in western society like you said. I’ve found such people hard to find ?? I plan on making friends with people I meet in workshops, masterminds, conferences, seminars, etc. Guaranteed to find people that have at least one common interest as you (otherwise they wouldn’t have paid so much to be there).
