@Michael569 What are the risks of doing a heavy metal detox when I still have gut issues? I have a 2 week term break from school in a few days. This is a small window of opportunity I can take to do a heavy metal detox. I know.

@Michael569 I really don’t know what else to do when it comes to my gut. I’ve treated SIBO and have been taking probiotics for the past month with no improvement. What more things can I try when it comes to my gut? Are there any probiotics or supplements I should try? How can I trace my major sources?

What is talk therapy? What is self-therapy? I don’t know what the source of it is. I think it has to do with my gut issues. I don’t know what else it could be. It feels like an illness that has nothing to do with me, like catching a cold. @Michael569 Can heavy metal toxicity or mold toxicity contribute to anhedonia?

@Michael569 How can the depression be cured? What things can be tried? What do you think I can try?

Why is it better to be a leader than not a leader in terms of purpose and fulfilment?
-
That’s not what I was trying to communicate. I think it’s a positive side effect that is not pursued, but ensued. What do you think a good reason to be a leader is? I think that leadership is simply something that naturally ensues from you embodying your Life Purpose. But maybe there’s more to it.

@Leo Gura I do feel a magnetic attraction towards leading. A lot of it is because of what Aaron had previously said ⬇️ The way I see it is that becoming a leader makes it such that thousands of people hold you accountable, which is what I’d guess Aaron is alluding to when he says “the people being led are leading to leader”. Imagine having thousands of people that look up to you and your lifestyle — they may not know it explicitly but they are holding you accountable in a way. When you have so many people looking up to you, you’ll feel pressure (in a positive way) to always be taking the right actions, because these right actions are not just for yourself anymore – they are for the people that see you as a leader. With how much momentum you have from all the people you are inspiring with your leadership and selfless service, you won’t feel the need to succumb to addictions, you have more meaningful things to do. On the other hand, if you’re not doing anything meaningful with your life, and every activity you’re doing is just for your ego-self (solely doing basic survival like most people), then succumbing to addictions is bound to happen because your mind doesn’t feel the need to do anything productive, because without anything meaningful to do, why should it? That’s why people who feel a sense of purpose in their life live longer lives. Look at Okinawans. They have one of the longest lifespans due to Ikigai (synonymous with Life Purpose). If you bring God into this then you can say that you are doing all of this for You, because every “other person” that exists, is You, and only doing it for your ego-self isn’t taking into account the full picture of You (other “people”).

@Leo GuraHow can you know if you are the leader type? Really? I see the complete opposite.

That’s really interesting. Can you elaborate more on this “Learn as I learn” approach? Or did you mean "Teach as I learn" approach? @Aaron p

Off the top of my head: Putting teachers on a pedestal. Not realizing that you are your own authority – that ultimately, your best teacher is you. Not making concrete plans and strategies for your life, leaving it to your wishy-washy ideas. Not being strategic. Deluding yourself into thinking that you can find clarity in life by merely thinking – ultimately, the only way to know what you want is to take an iterative approach, experiment, and continuously hone in on your strengths and talents. There are so many more but it would take more time than I'd like to list.

Here is what I think: Happiness = Being happy with just existing. Not needing to do anything. Joy = Happiness in motion. Every single action is autotelic, i.e. doing the activities you do because you simply want to. Rather than just being, you are doing things that spark joy, e.g. using your creativity to contribute to the world.

I have found that in some ways I can be more motivated to avoid Wage Slavery than my vision and Life Purpose. The latter feels better to be motivated by, but it doesn’t light a fire under my ass. The former on the other hand, does light a fire under my ass, and sort of kicks me into taking action. Thoughts?
-
What are these techniques? I don’t see how this is particularly helpful with feeling lighter in my body.
-
How can I feel lighter in my body? I am always feeling tension and I haven't been able to "let loose" for years.
-
@Leo Gura I used to be focused on my vision but lately I have been forgetting about my vision. How do you remember your vision? What are some effective techniques for increasing the clarity and pull of your vision? Visualization and a vision board? @mandyjw You talk about dream boards like Nahm does, right? What are your thoughts?
-
I’m not talking about one or the other. Just a combination of both, maybe a higher ratio of positive motivation is good with some negative motivation left over to not get lazy. Ideally, one would be completely positively motivated. This is the most selfless form of motivation. I’ve found that it doesn’t really give me a kick in the ass the same way negative motivation does. On the other hand, maybe you would be more motivated to do the things necessary to avoid wage slavery if you know it’s for your Life Purpose (positive motivation), rather than just avoiding the experience of wage slavery (negative motivation)? In which case, the things you do to avoid wage slavery can be seen as an extension of your Life Purpose as it is what funds your Life Purpose, even if what you are doing to fund your Life Purpose is completely unrelated to your actual Life Purpose. What are your thoughts on this perspective?

I disagree with Leo. I think you should liberally be taking notes, but also making notes. Highlighting and underlining is useful, but passive. When you’re making notes, you’re actually engaging your brain with the material and adding your own unique insights into it, making your understanding of the material richer.

But they are the happiest, right? Maybe it's better to run the risk of having a shorter life but be more happy, compared to having a longer life but being less happy. Look at Martin Luther King Jr. as an example. He went to prison because he spoke out. But he didn't let his survival needs overpower his higher calling. -
@Yog @Rokazulu @Razard86 Can you elaborate more on this? What foods are "heavy"? And what is pre/post fasting? I have been intermittent fasting, mostly 16:8 but sometimes 18:6. Aren't most of these "yoga classes" Hatha yoga? Thanks. I'll have a look.

What constitutes being a child?

@ZGROPIUS Haha are you being sarcastic? What was the point of posting that suggestion then?

I think for game to work I would need to genuinely be attracted in the girls I'm approaching. My health issues fucked up my libido. I am not interested in dating or relationships, nor am I attracted to girls the same way I used to be. But I assume that's not your main point. You mentioned high tension social situations — I think this would work if I only felt tense during social situations but my tension is chronic. I'm feeling it 24/7. The more I push myself during exercise the worse the tension gets. I just do what I can. I don't think I will ever have weed or cannabis in my life. The cons outweigh the benefits (the only benefit seems to be short-term pleasure) and knowing myself, I'd likely get addicted to it.
-
@ZGROPIUS Has it worked for you?
-
@Waken This by itself is vague. How do you be more gentle and loving with yourself? Might not be an option for me for now. I don't know where to get them. Any other options?
