  1. Besides the benefits of exercising by itself (e.g. endorphins, reduced anxiety, BDNF, etc)... Are there any benefits to building muscle other than looking good? Or is it just to please the ego out of vanity?
  2. @Ora I took glucose first, then lactulose. I was in the clinic for about 5-6 hours.
  3. I’m going to email my naturopath asking about this. Is there anything I should mention in particular? But if she made a mistake, I don’t even know if she’d admit that she misinterpreted it? Can they even do that? I mean I’ve spent so much money...
  4. What about nutritional yeast? Healthy fats like Cod Liver Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil?? No. I haven’t had coffee in almost 2 years. I don’t consume caffeine.
  5. @Michael569 Thanks for the info. Yes, I followed it to a T. I only ate plain chicken (no spices) and eggs.
  6. Just watched this video: Does this mean I do indeed have SIBO? It seems like I match the criteria for a positive result given the information in this video? I don't understand... Why would my naturopath tell me it's not SIBO??? $150 is being spent on every appointment with her... This is quite frustrating.
  7. @Michael569 I've tried going carnivore for about a week, my symptoms significantly reduced. But even then, I was using garlic powder to marinate my meat. Perhaps I'll try it again, without the garlic powder. Also, eating vegetables just doesn't satiate me. I feel more satiated eating carnivore by itself than eating the exact same meals but with vegetables. It's like they make me more hungry.
  8. Can it be healed? Garlic and onion - I'm not sure. Though they could be potentially bloating me as they are high in FODMAPS. I use garlic powder when marinating my meat. Beans - Make me bloat A LOT. Legumes, chickpeas, lentils, etc. These call for pregnancy. Soy - Makes my symptoms worse. I've had food drizzled with soy sauce before and it did not go great. They also have gluten so I avoid them. Honey, mango, avocado - are all high in salicylates, which I am intolerant to. So I avoid them. I don't know why she said it wasn't SIBO. But she said the problem was that my ppm CH4 was elevated at 15 which isn't ideal. I'm so confused right now. Where can I learn how to interpret these results? Why would my naturopath say it's not SIBO? This is huge...
  9. @Michael569 I'm lactose intolerant too. Does that have an affect? Yes, I had to do this test through a naturopath as it was required. She said that it's not SIBO. I'm not sure why exactly she said that, I don't really know how to read it.
  10. How do you know what your semen tastes like? Do you literally like....taste it?
  11. @Leo Gura Which natural antibiotics would you recommend?
  12. No. It makes my symptoms much worse.
  13. I've probably had leaky gut since I was born (C-section and antibiotics to both my mother and I). Having eczema and other health problems since birth may be a sign of that. Though I'm not sure how to measure whether it feeds on sugar and carbs. I recently had a breath test done. I had elevated methane production which showed up later within in the 3-hour period, not early enough to be considered SIBO, so it would be in my large intestines. I was given probiotics by my naturopath and have been taking them for the past month. How can I test for whether I am fit to be taking them? @Leo Gura
  14. @LfcCharlie4 This is what I was thinking. But also, looking "good" has survival advantages. Most people will tend to take you more seriously, whether they're conscious of it or not. There's no faster way to seem like you are well disciplined, are driven, know what you're doing, etc, than having a well-trained body. It also makes you attractive to the opposite sex, making it easier to fulfil your carnal desires. All ego, yes. Survival is harsh. But it's still within our biology.
  15. @Leo Gura What do you do to keep up your fitness? Do you have a fitness routine?
  16. @Leo Gura Bodybuilding != Health. The excess caloric surplus over a long period of time will cause problems down the line. I feel bad for their livers. Also, weightlifting doesn't have to mean you're a bodybuilder. It can be used as a means for that end, yes. But not automatically. Resistance training still has its own benefits independent of aesthetics. Looking better is best to be seen as a byproduct.
  17. @Nahm What do you do to feel good in terms of exercising?
  18. @Leo Gura When I visualize myself being in my dream body it makes me feel like I'm heading towards being more "alpha-male" and "dominant", a body of someone who is a CEO of his own life, is true to himself, and is independent of the good and bad opinions of others. The true "Chad". This is ego and self-image right? But then again, how does this negatively affect the quality of your life? We build a healthy ego before transcending it right? As long as you don't stay attached to how you look, isn't it best to push yourself to your full potential? I like to treat my "self" and my "body" as the avatar/vehicle through which I'm experiencing reality, and I want it to function to its full potential - agile, strong, flexible, etc. Is that still ego?
  19. @Leo Gura Perhaps one may be doing it out of intrinsic motivation? It can be enjoyable seeing your body change and grow stronger, it's enjoyable to feel the burn you feel in your muscles as you do your resistance training. Even if it is to boost your self-esteem, which is egoic, shouldn't we build a healthy ego? It may help to fulfil our esteem needs (on Maslow's Hierarchy)?
  20. @Leo Gura In my opinion the ideal physique is what Chris Heria has (a calisthenics athlete) "Bulging muscles" is what someone like Arnold Schwarzenegger has.
  21. This was the type of answer I was looking for. Is there any source from which I can learn more about this? I was also wondering if it increased longevity or life expectancy in any way like cardio does. For sure. Seems like a lot of buff bodybuilders can’t even do pull-ups. Calisthenics requires a lot more engagement of stabiliser muscles. What would you call exercise for health? Aerobic exercise? Anaerobic exercise?
  22. @lmfao What are the differences between DPDR and Enlightenment?
  23. It's crazy how fast life can turn upside down and fall into a downward spiral. Just 3 months ago I was planning out and envisioning what I'm going to be doing this year and for the next few years. Now, it really does feel like I have regressed due to my health problems getting worse... But at the same time, I think this painful phase of suffering is necessary for me to move forward and develop. It is because of this suffering that I (finally) decided to look into the health problems I've had my entire life. I really have learned so much. Now I know that there are ways to help myself, even completely heal my condition. Whereas before, I thought I'll have them for the rest of my life, just getting worse and worse as I age. Thanks a lot pharma From Late 2018-Early 2021, I was grinding myself out all day, doing both school work, and working on my business. This amounted to 80-90+ hours a week of working, grinding, "hustling". For 2 years straight I had barely left myself any time to relax. It was either school, or hustling. Said no to so many things and opportunities, just so I could not waste an opportunity. Felt like shit? Suck it up, time is money. Maybe go out with some friends? You deserve a break. No. Time is money. A 2 day vacation? Absolutely not! I'm going to lose so much progress! ... This is the mindset I had to have to be able to succeed in my business. Of course my cortisol levels are so imbalanced. I'm so glad that I quit it. I was neglecting myself, it was so toxic. Maybe if my health conditions didn't get so bad, I would have continued my life completely ignorant to what exactly my health conditions are, eating the same diet (even a "healthy" one) while being completely unaware of what I'm doing to my body because I wouldn't have known that I have many food intolerances.
  24. @Michael569 Hope everything turns out well ?
