  1. If you get banned is it permanent, or is it more like a time out?
  2. No idea what you're talking about...
  3. Thank you @Valach I'm so sorry that happened to you @Etherial Cat
  4. Outrageous!!! $9.99 and not a cent more. That's in Canadian dollars, no fancy US greenbacks
  5. ? If you're seeking awakening, Leo's forum posts about solipsism are enough to point you in the right direction. He did say in the video that if he knew Awakening and Oneness was pointing to Solipsism it would've saved him years of work. So there you go. Years saved!! Youtube comments were actually pretty positive, from what I saw. But, I understand why he took the video down. For anyone who’s feeling distressed about solipsism, the tips in Understanding & Coping With Nihilism could apply to your situation. Summary is here. You should watch the whole episode, but the part on “Practical Tips for Dealing with Nihilism” shows up at 1:45:19 Remember, if something Leo says isn’t backed up by your own personal experience, then it’s not true. Also, if you don’t have a strong handle on your survival needs and life purpose, awakening might not be a good goal for you right now. The skills you need to tackle survival are the same skills you need to become accident-prone to experiencing enlightenment. So, both goals are along the same skill tree. 6. An episode about Solipsism for Valentine's Day ??
  7. -You both might have more options than you realize. What’s her plan for having kids? Is it a must for her to have a baby in her late 20s? If she only wants one or two, can she wait until she’s in her 30s? Is she willing to get her eggs frozen? Talk to her openly about all this. Are you making a bunch of assumptions, or is this how she feels? -Most men live in sexual scarcity, that doesn’t mean you have to. I’ve read some of your posts. You absolutely can find a woman who’s great and who has the same timing as you. If you knew, without a doubt, that you could get another girl, would you string this one along? -You have more dating options than you realize, especially in a stage orange or green society. A lot of women are more than happy to start having kids in their early 30s. Some women only want one kid and have it in their mid 30s. Some women get their eggs frozen. Some don’t want kids at all. The % of people who wants kids is lower these days. Question assumptions. -If you find out that the timing in your relationship is totally incompatible, don’t worry about being a “bad guy” for breaking up with her. She’ll be grateful you had the strength and integrity to be honest and break things off without leading her on for years. She’ll remember you as a good guy even if she’s upset in the moment. -Remember, actions have karmic consequences. You could “technically” get away with stalling out her biological clock and have fun wasting her time. She might even be totally in love with you that she deceives herself, but how would that make you feel? Although she is 100% responsible for her own actions, she could be easy to manipulate because she’s in love. Is that really something you want to do? Is that ethical behavior? If you were emotionally compromised and thus easy to manipulate, would you want someone you love to do that to you? Just some things to contemplate.
  8. If Neph had contacted him once or twice or just asked for advice from the forum, Leo's reaction would be harsh and out of line. Thing is he contacted Leo several times, not just asking for advice. He explicitly blamed Leo as the cause of him being suicidal, that Leo was personally on the hook for solving his problems, and he took no personal responsibility for his role. Threatening suicide to force a relationship or reaction out of someone is emotional extortion. I understand you'd have to be in great pain to say that, and I have compassion for anyone in a dark situation like that. But if you're in the public eye you constantly have to deal with people blaming you for things you have nothing to do with. You have to be firm about expectations and responsibilities with fans (aka: strangers) so they don't get the wrong impression. So I have sympathy for both Leo and Neph.
  9. I do think I've overestimated how much people actually watch his videos from beginning to end. I enjoy his videos more than the forum, so I was assuming other people felt the same. I'm sorry you've had bad psychedelic trips. That sucks
  10. I didn't see your question. I don't think those teachers are only motivated by money, but money and marketing is part of it. They're probably motivated by many things.
  11. This is based on what Neph had to say about his own suffering and his own experience. I've never had problems with meditation or kundalini. I'm assuming Neph is being honest about his own experience. That doesn't sound demeaning to me. That sounds like a very needed wake-up call. YMMV. Sounds like you've only had safe, enlightening trips. You're lucky. That's not most people's experience. As for the psychedelics talk, other posters were saying Leo is reckless about psychedelics safety. I disagree. He talks about the safe use of psychedelics a lot. He has many episodes about it. That's why psychedelics were brought up.
  12. Leo can be honest about the dangers of, say, meditation because he's not selling meditation books, or seminars or retreats, unlike other teachers. He's also not mainstream so he doesn't have to worry as much about bad PR or newspapers sensationalizing his words. He gets paid when you click on the video. Once you've clicked the video that revenue is his, whether you like what he has to say or not. That's why he can be honest about the dangers of meditation, or psychedelics. He's not selling potentially dangerous products like meditation or psychedelics. His income doesn't depend on you liking meditation or psychedelics. So he's free to discuss why they're dangerous. It's like when he talked about Pick Up in his "How To Get Laid" episode. PUAs are selling tons of courses, but Leo is not. So when PUAs hype up PU and only talk about the good stuff, you have to question their motives. Leo has no financial incentive to hype up PU because he's not selling some course. It's easier to assume his video on PU is genuine because he's not financially motivated to only say good things.
  13. I don't think he was demeaning him. I think he was setting a clear, healthy boundary about what he would and would not do. YMMV. Neph said he did lots of meditation which created problems with his kundalini. Sounds pretty dangerous to me. Leo teaches about psychedelics. I personally would've never found out about them if I hadn't watched Actualized.org. Yes psychedelics are the teacher, but you can't use them if you don't know about them. Psychedelics will mess you up if you take too many. They're more dangerous than journaling or meditating. It's good that Leo describes them as a "loaded gun." Yes, there's also more than one thread. I'd prefer to leave Neph alone about this and just wish him well on his healing journey.
  14. -Leo can afford to release episodes about the risks of spirituality because his revenue is based on Youtube clicks, not selling products. Those teachers are selling mainstream products (many of them are good products!) It’s not smart marketing to tell customers all the stuff that could go wrong with the stuff they’re buying . -Those teachers mostly teach meditation, lectures and journalling, which have a lot less risk than psychedelics. However, as Neph’s case shows, meditation still has dangers. The fact that those teachers don’t say anything about the risks of their work is negligent on their part. -Leo’s videos are very clear about the risks involved with various spiritual practices. His forums posts might not always be clear, but is it really his fault if people willfully choose to ignore his videos and don’t do proper research? -Some Youtuber isn’t going to help Neph with his problems as effectively as family, friends and an in person therapist. It’s good for Neph’s well-being to be honest about that instead of Leo coddling and lying to him out of guilt. -I do think that anyone who’s experiencing suicidal ideation deserves compassion and help, but they don’t have the right to manipulate people and threaten suicide because they’re in pain. It's not in their own best interest to get rewarded for that behavior. -My heart goes out to Neph. I feel sorry that he has to go through this situation. I’m glad his condition has stabilized and it’s awesome that you’ve offered to help him ?. However, Leo still has the right to not become his close, personal, one-on-one, unpaid guru.
  15. You're welcome. The spooky thing is I was re-watching this very episode when I saw your question!
  16. Totally. If I was Leo I wouldn’t post on this forum at all. I'd just focus on releasing great content, not that I want him to get any bright ideas and leave!
  17. @mememe I don't mean any of that in a mean spirited way. I know it's tough to assess tone on the internet. I just disagree with you. It's all good man ?
  18. Jackie Chan has a level of awesomeness that will make you question the limits of reality . I personally disagree that he tells people to substitute their thinking for his own. He goes on and on about epistemology, epistemology, epistemology. If he plasters warning signs everywhere but a tiny few people choose not to read them, is that really his fault? Personal development work tends to attract people who are suffering or are predisposed to mental illness, with or without Leo. It’s not fair to put 100% blame on some youtuber or video for making you suicidal. Especially when the video is just presenting clear, thoughtful ideas that you’re free to take or leave. It seems like some people read his forum posts but not his videos, which is too bad (I don't mean you per say). The real meat is in the videos. His posts are more like garnishes. People eat the garnishes and ignore the food, then wonder why they’re hungry. In which episodes does he do this? His videos seem pretty well researched, knowledgeable and backed up by personal experience.
  19. It’s interesting you see it that way. To me it reads as Leo setting a firm, clear, healthy boundary. OP’s msg reads as wanting close, one-on-one attention from Leo and not just good advice. I can think of at least three different people on the forum who’ve tried to get personal attention from Leo by threatening suicide, and that’s just in the last year. It reminds me of an article I read about Jackie Chan. Back in the 80s he announced his engagement to his now wife, and two of his female fans attempted suicide. One even did it in front of his office. He visited one of them to be a nice, helpful guy and this just inspired more of his fans to attempt suicide. They were all hoping to get some personal attention from him (and of course they had other mental illnesses going on). Thing is, Jackie would’ve been better off making a blanket statement against suicide or not giving them any attention at all. If you’re in the public eye and people keep trying to get your attention with bad behavior, doesn’t it make sense to not reward that behavior? To me it does, even if it means being blunt and sorta unsympathetic. So Leo’s “coldness” isn’t a knock against @Neph personally. It’s about maintaining strong boundaries with everybody so he can do his work.
  20. Leo does have an episode called “The Dark Side of Meditation.” He actually talks about Kundalini awakening at 28:55. He also has disclaimers at the bottom of every YT episode and talks about proper safety protocols in all his psychedelics episodes. More episodes on the dangers of self-actualizing: The Dangers Of Spiritual Work The Top Dangers Of Using Psychedelics The Dangers Of Misapplying Spiritual Teachings Becoming A Zen Devil - The Dangers Of Half-Assing Enlightenment Leo's Worst Bad Trips - Psychedelics Gone Wrong The Trap Of Projection, Especially Onto Teachers & Mentors Being A Spiritual Seeker, Good or Bad? Cult Psychology - Part 1 - How Cults Work The Trap Of The Toxic Life Purpose You have to verify theories for yourself and not just take Leo, or anyone, at their word.
  21. This concept gets discussed in a bunch of different episodes, but I think the one you're looking for is "How to Become Enlightened" at the 16:20 mark.
