The pros: potential for earning decent money. I have a passion for wisdom and truth seeking. The cons: i don't know if i will fit well with the academic system. I came to the conclusion that just working for money, isn't doable. I wanted to pursue a degree in computer science, however like i said without passion, i won't be able to do it. Without passion i can work a brain dead job like at starbucks or a waiter or whatever. However to create a career it must align with some of my passions, which are: rap music, art, seduction and attraction, philosophy, sense making, wisdom, and spirituality.

@ryoko I feel like i can study computer science for a couple of years, to be able to build a nice solid financial foundation. Most people in college aren't passionate about their major anyway, doesn't prevent them for earning decent money once they complete their degree. Then once i finish my degree i can fix my dating life, then i can go on and work on creating a meaningful career once i am close to 30 years old , i can either try to pursue a music career in rap, if it doesn't work out, i can get a doctorate in philosophy and teach at university. Leo himself did plenty of different careers in his life, he tried aerospace engineering major, then philosophy major, then game design job, then online marketing business he did, then he worked on his dating life, then he did actualized.org. So it's not unwise to try different things as stepping stones in your life. You know each experience gives you something: lessons, wisdom, money... I follow maslow's hierarchy of needs, money and sex, come before a passionate career.

Veganism - the low perspective: -Think that morality is objective and that killing animals is inherently wrong. -Focuses on activism and converting the whole world to veganism, instead of prioritizing wisdom, sense making and understanding. -Low cognitive complexity, think in black and white, tribal identity formation. -Turns veganism into a religion, in group vs out group thinking. -Absolutistic. Doesn't recognize the existential dilemmas humans and other biological creatures are placed in for survival. -Focusing on winning the argument and not on truth. -Doesn't see the problems with ideology, and doesn't recognize veganism as a privilege for the wealthy, well educated, and healthy elites. -Only focused on animal exploitation, and doesn't see the underpinning root cause of many atrocities. Example : vegan booty Veganism - the high perspective: -Realizes nuances, and that people who are meat eaters are meat eaters by necessity or lack of education and inquiry. -Realizes veganism as a construct, and that it is a spectrum, not just black and white, in group bias of you're either vegan or an animal abuser, for example being a pescatarian or vegetarian is better than being a meat eater, even though it is not the same as veganism. -Understand the existential reason for evil, being God and infinity. -Focuses on wisdom, sense making, truth, understanding and the greater jihad, instead of the lower jihad. -Realizes morality being relative, and a construct of the mind to help it survive. -relativistic, understand that there are edge cases, like for example people who cannot afford a vegan diet, or don't have the luxury of being vegan, or people with medical conditions where they cannot abstain from consuming meat and animal products... -High cognitive complexity. Mainly because of some health problems, which are preventing me from studying and working seriously so i have no money, which is preventing me from having a girlfriend. I tried pick up and the bottom line is you need a car, a phone, a place where you have intercourse with girls... All of which i don't have, and i don't know how to get. Life is rough. I am 21 years old and never had a girlfriend, and it's making me sad.

@Leo Gura I came to the conclusion that i'm gonna study 4 years of computer science, to get a decent salary relatively faster, and be able to fix my dating life. Then i'm gonna study for a doctorate in philosophy, to create a meaningful career, where i am passionate afterwards.

@Leo Gura Then given my passions outlined in the original post, what do you think i should pursue as a career? Plus i think i will enjoy writing philosophical essays, i don't see a problem with it.

@Leo Gura If you think i am not serious about philosophy then you don't know me enough. Btw do you think it's not possible for someone who's really passionate about philosophy, and your work for example, to get a job as a university professor ?

@Leo Gura I can teach philosophy at university. I want to die having lived a life devoted to wisdom. Do you think it is wise to enroll in university for a decade or more to get this doctorate in philosophy ? Or should i go with computer science because it requires less years, even though i will not enjoy it, because i don't necessarily like computer science ? The thing with philosophy is that i love it, so my passion would be covered that way. Plus i'm excited to teach students in university about wisdom. what do you think ? Also part of the pros of the computer science path is that i will make more money in less years, which will be optimal for pick up and dating, however like i said the con is that i don't like it. I don't know how to make pick up work if i am pursuing philosophy. If you were in my position what would you do ?

How to trip without using drugs: You go on youtube, you type trip report, click on a video, start watching and contemplating each point until you have insights that alter your state of consciousness. What psychedelics fundamentally do is open your mind, which is the same thing that asking questions do through contemplation. For example if you hear “i forgot who my parents were, and what my job was” you contemplate “how can i forget who my parents are and what my job is?” Until you have an insight that leads to an altered state of consciousness were you experience this forgetfulness. So that’s just one example. This is the aim of proper philosophy to change your experiential reality by diving deep into the mechanics of consciousness.

@Leo Gura If you don't have a partner. How are you supposed to meet your sexual needs without porn? Plus porn can be very interesting in an exploratory sense to find your fetishes, your sexual identity and orientation...

for the last 4 or 5 years i couldn't continue my last year of high school because i was so ill. Fast forward until now after a long journey, i overcame most of my health challenges, and i am back to normal. Yesterday i worked for 7 hours, exercised for an hour and studied for 3 hours. However today as i was studying physics, it was so goddamn hard that it made me want to kill myself, no joke. If it is either that or being a bum on the streets, why live life? And so here we are now.

Vegan thoughts of the day: Today i wanted to explore the theme of factory farmed education. Our education system is based on dehumanizing agents and treating them as products. The focus is not on the well being of the student but on the tangible results and efficiency. This draws a parallel with factory farming where sentient animals are treated as disposable products of consumption not as unique individuals. The problem with our education is that it is not tailored to each individual to achieve a state of well being, wisdom and happiness but is tailored towards mass education of the populus. How many innocent humans have lost their minds, been traumatized and subjugated to the stress of the threat of death in case of academic failure? The education system treats students the same way factory farms treat animals, cows, pigs, chicken, sheep, goats...

@Leo Gura I hate that. Well to be fair, i enjoyed pick up so much. If sales entails approaching people like pick up, i might like it.

@Leo Gura I like philosophy and history. But i hate the way it is taught in academia and school through brute force memorization.

@Leo Gura I love rap music, but my parents are dead set on not letting me go into an institute that teaches music production, because they think i won't get a job afterwards. I just had a conversation with them, they told me to study one hour a day instead of three hours. Hell, it seems like a dead end.

@Leo Gura The other options for the last year of high school are either economics and sociology, which i am not particularly fan of, or arabic and philosophy, which i hate arabic and i hate memorizing stuff which is required for philosophy in school. There are four branches, Biology and chemistry, which i am in, right now, but of course in it there's also physics and maths taught. Or physics and maths, or economics and sociology, or arabic and philosophy. And in all of them, i do not find myself. The other option would be to get into an institute that teaches music production: beatmaking, mixing and mastering. But i don't know if i will get a job after finishing the program. Fuck it i will just do heroin and be a bum on the streets. I am joking obviously.

@NewKidOnTheBlock The problem is in Lebanon you don't make much money without a degree, like probably less than 500 dollars a month. It is really messed up.

@Leo Gura My parents will never agree.

My plan is to go to university, major in computer science, to be able to make money and then pursue my life purpose which is being a rapper. The advantage of pursuing this degree is that i'll make decent money, and i'll be able to travel, and also afford the logistics to make pick up works. Then afterwards i'll be able to invest in my life purpose. This sounds like an optimal plan to me.
