He does give some good insights into Hamas itself and how they work However, he is also full of hate towards Palestinians in Gaza and overall is very biased Basically from what I understood he was disowned by his family for helping Israel stop terrorist attacks and since then has became basically very racist towards Palestinians The "African child rejected by the tribe who burned the tribe" is a good metaphore for him He wants to burn the tribe after being rejected by it

Hello I wanted to ask something that I do not seem to be able to understand It involves China, and the crazy amount of hostility, hatred, propaganda and overall negative views it has in the West I would like to understand why, is that the case? What makes China so special to be hated like this? The hatred comes from mainstream medias, politicans and even everyday people. It seems to be strongest with centrists and right wing people. I already know some point they may make so I will debunk them before someone mentions them on this post 1. China is a dictatorship Yes, it is. However, so are many other countries that the West does not demonize. UAE, Saudi being two great examples. I would argue they are even more dictatorship like than China. 2. China oppresses minorities Yes, they do most likely. However, so does Israel with Palestinians in West Bank. So does India with the people in Kashmir. Yet they are seen as allies and everyone sweeps it under the rug. 3. China is anti-West Is it really? Or is China reacting to Western hostility accordingly 4. China will become the new superpower So what? Why should it be seen as an issue? Why not work with them instead? I have not seen China invade anyone. So they are a lot more reliable than Russia for example. Perhaps they do some pressure on neighbors, however relative to USA or Russia, they are a lot more peaceful considering how powerful they are. Neither have I seen them try to seriously influence elections abroad like Russia or Israel do. At least in the West Therefore, I cannot think of any other reason to hate China specifically so much rather than an egoic reaction of resentment that "we are no longer in charge of the world like before and we want to be the dominant entity". Which is childish and very biased attitude What do you guys think?

I never said that if you were referring to me I have said it does not seem like they can win and just prolonging an attrition war does not benefit them Which is totally different Winning means taking back all their land I have never said they will collapse next month As far as I can predict the war will last until 2028 at the earliest Both sides are pretty stubborn I do agree I keep hearing scholars which I do respect say Ukraine will collapse next month and I used to buy it until I realized it wont happen anytime soon.

Correct me if I am wrong but historically Palestian movements have not been radical religious but more nationalistic in nature PLO, Fatah etc Only Hamas is religious and they are only in charge of Gaza, which is a small chunk of Palestinian land Which is why when I think of Palestine I do not think of Hamas as to me they represent more of a radical extreme wing rather than the mainstream wing which has been the PLO for decades now I do not know if PLO is suicidal like that to be honest. PLO is recognized by 80% of the world including many Western countries like France, UK, Canada etc so they are somewhat reasonable I feel Fair point. I never looked at it that way. I take that for granted.

I agree I was partial on them continuing but the Iran war has really messed up Ukraine prospects It greatly increased oil prices which aids Russia and even worse, it has left Ukraine with little to no air defense What I notice from following the war for the last 3 years is that it basically has weakened both Ukraine and Russia with no real major territory gains made by Ukraine If Ukraine agrees to loose that 20% today in a deal, or fight for 2 more years then do a deal, it does not matter The 20% is lost either way. So why fight? What is gained? By a deal, a good deal, you can secure you will not loose more land. Which is not guaranteed if you keep fighting. To me what matters is Ukraine getting a deal where they are bullet proof from future Russian invasion But they seem also focused on getting territory back, which to me is just foolish nationalism that does not help them On this I am way more realistic than a lot of other analysis who are like "Ukraine should not give away land to bad evil Russia" I want to stay optimistic given the global outrage and PR disaster there is atm for Israel But you never know I feel the only true way for peace is for Palestinians to swallow their pain and basically say israel has a right to exist and we recognize it It is capitulation but no other realistic option given the 1 sided power dynamic. Then the ball is on Israel. That is what I would do if I was the leader there.

Of course it is not the same I am not saying Ukraine will cease to exist or loose most of its territory But in my opinion they will loose the 20% Russian currently occupies and be bombed like hell until a peace deal is reached Not to mention another 100.000 of them killed as soldiers A deal will eventually happen I have no issue accepting this reality But I have issue accepting what you said about Palestine ceasing to exist and them leaving I wonder why Does that include West Bank or only Gaza? When you analyze moral development you do not only analyze the current situation but also what would happen in another scenario You say "Israel is not crashing civilian planes" therefore they are more morally developed I do agree with you that crashing civilian planes is as bad as it gets I will not justify it However, I have a question for you Would Israel not resort to such tactics if they were stripped out of their power and were the underdog They have done it in the past with bombing hotels There is a historical precedent So what makes us think that Israel is not beyond this but simply does not do it because they do not need to A true moral developed society would say "this is wrong and we will not do it" even if they were in a weaker position What makes you think Israel would have such a thinking?

I think the fundamental issue we leftists here in this forumn have Leo after analying all the comments is that we fundamentally disagree with what "development" is To us, development is "moral development", not "material development" So, a more developed person in your example would be "stealing is wrong i cannot do it" instead of "i do not need to steal because I have a steady income" The material situation is irrelevant in the way we see things A rich greedy person is less developed to us than a poor non developed person Unless this topic is addressed the discussions here will never end When it comes to countries, we put more importance on moral development than technological development A technologically powerful nation with strong burocracy is "worse" to us than a peaceful tribe Nazi Germany to us is "worse" than a local peaceful Hindu village in 1940s That is the core difference Which is what you call moralizing I guess.

People say that because we fear you may be influenced by the very biased media and social environement in the US Unless you meet people from other parts of the world or travel there it can cause biases I think that is why Nobody here is saying that China is a perfect flawless country I am sure they steal some IP addresses for example But is that enough to demonize China so much when you have so many countries in the world doing messed up stuff?
