That was always the case. The generation leftists of my mother here in Europe always disliked US politics etc. For toppling governments in Latin America and elsewhere.

And everybody who speaks against the govt or gets a bit out of line is disappeared. Artists have to flee the country or get jailed because real art is stifled. It’s awesome that a few old men can decide all this.

The US supported (right wing) dictatorships and regime changed democratically elected governments who didn’t suit them.

I believe in it in certain countries in Europe. the US always had a weird two party system.

I think you don’t have to worry but i understand your fear. I think depending on Trumps “success” here a similar thing might happen in some European countries. Like Germany for example as Eckhart Tolle said they are a country that often goes from one extreme to the other.

At some point you get a belief and then you just keep confirming it. Could be anything from “i’m a loser” to “Mexicans are lazy” to “Islam is true” It’s just egoic pattern/sense making of the surroundings by the mind. But it certainly does keep us trapped. Not really. First of all barbarous can mean brutal but also uncivilised. Again how is Finland more barbarous than Somalia? That’s also not sure. It’s not sure that if Somalia had those resources that they would have made those innovations and inventions. I’m not saying it’s impossible but we’ll never know. Sure. But that doesn’t mean you can blame it on outside forces. Maybe you could also blane it on their tribal nature, religion. Maybe some countries are just less able and willing to build good infrastructure, democracy, school system etc. Because they only care about the survival of their tribe within the country or whatever.
