  1. I've read of many people who apparently did heal those things and others.
  2. i applaud you for being creative and doing your thing but personally i'm also kind of tired of seeing trump comics etc. not because i like the guy or anything like that but just because i've seen enough/too many already but maybe he's just the guy who triggers you enough to be creative/create and it will evolve in a different thing in the future, in that case it would be good i guess
  3. yea i didn't mean "good" as in not a bad thing, i meant "good" as in total free speech is almost existent much better than other places type thing
  4. I've been really into conspiracy theories about a decade ago, so i was before most sheeple wasn't into all of them though, just some. now, not so much.
  5. Yea never said totally free just pretty free. 96% freedom of speech is still pretty good, or not?
  6. I find it pretty free how people can talk about their government and politicians in the US for example.
  7. these recent weeks have been pretty satisfying for me, even though i don't have a gf and 'm not really meeting any new people etc. i wonder if it's just a phase of calmness and inner satisfaction? it probably is since nothing is permanent
  8. Many of their friends were killed and you think they're doing that "gleefully" ?
  9. Yea that's bs, what has the us done to latin american countries? what about yemen? kurds? armenia?etc. etc. Is the US military hegemony good for the world? hard to say, there are pros and cons
  10. i don't know too much about murican politics and don't really care that much tbh. but didn't reagan and his team (a republican) throw a lot of people who were mentally ill on the streets and close down facilities? seems like a lot of people who are homeless in the us have mental issues and need some kind of help. in europe in central european a lot of western european and nordic countries etc. we have far less homeless than the us. (france and italy might have a lot, not sure) i was shocked when i visited the us as a kid for the first time and saw all the poverty because i just knew the us mostly from hollywood movies. obviously it's not a 100% comparable, the us is huge and los angeles is warm, that's also a reason why there are so many homeless but the system is far more cruel, people can lose everything and land on the street pretty soon, here we have lots of social institutions.
  11. Actually not really, people who care more about the environment generally also care more about the homeless etc. than the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" extreme free market capitalists.
  12. yea i'm not sure if the economy is more important than the environment, probably not
  13. Seems like Joe is testing Spotify. They we're probably like "You can do whatever you want, no restriction, total freedom" and Joe's like "hmmmm can I?"
  14. I don't think it's a terrible idea But i'm not sure people who really meditate would want such a nootropic and people who don't meditate probably also not so much So it would probably come down to marketing etc. Or maybe a drink like "Zen meditation drink"
  15. i'm for masks and think it's irresponsible if people don't wear them in public transport or they don't wear it over their nose etc. with lock downs it depends, i think "light" lockdowns are good, like no groups bigger than this, shops etc. mostly open. people need to act like grown ups and not like children
  16. Cool. I think (not totally sure) James Cameron, the guy with the most successful movies ever didn't go to film school but taught himself with books etc. But yea filming a movie isn't really a project which you can do on your own, aside from docs maybe. You need great people and tell them what they need to do. That could be very anxiety inducing in the beginning. Probably more blocked by anxiety than laziness, but not sure.
  17. yea they should get their priorities straight and write them down meticulously, so they can have arguments about them. and everybody who wants to join them knows exactly what they're signing up for.
  18. Kushner is definitely an android from hell
  19. For sure, right wingers populists etc. use "democracy" for undemocratic purposes and use free speech as a cheat code. But religious bigots, strict or extreme religious people, in "western" Europe at the moment it's mostly Muslims do the same, they use "freedom of religion" "democracy" and all those fancy things for themselves but then they're not tolerant of "women's rights" or they discriminate agains jews, etc. (in Poland for example it might be Christians) That system with free speech, and "oh we have all those great values in the west" is very vulnerable to be taken advantage of. That's why i think we need to really get our priorities straight in the "west" if we say we love democracy and women's rights then we can't sell weapons etc. to countries which don't care about those, just for the love of money, or else we're not believable etc.
  20. not gangs, cults and and religious or far right extremists though
  21. Maybe some kind of education could help but that seems a bit utopian. I just think it's very interesting when "values" collide like for example "women's rights" and any other value and personally i'm also not sure what could and should be done about it but it seems important to think about.
  22. I think it's mostly the colonial history (which is very problematic and partly still going on) war in Algeria etc. and the high numbers of Muslim immigrants, just like in Belgium. Also France is a very proud nation. But for example people like Erdogan only understand "strength" i welcomed it when France stopped him in the eastern mediterranean a few weeks ago. As a woman do you find it problematic that many women are scared to show themselves in certain French neighbourhoods and get harassed etc.? Do you blame the French government for allowing such "ghettoisation"? Or do you also blame people who take their religion too serious? So you think it's always right wingers xenophobes and bigots who yell "free speech"? Or those far right wingers etc. just hide under the "free speech" umbrella which others actually take serious and are honest about?
