  1. You look at it too one-sided. Ever heard of nixon, reagan and bush and the war on drugs? How many ( a lot of them black men) went to jail for small amounts of drugs like crack. Do you see the devilry inside yourself?
  2. Another possibility would be that mostly stable, fairly "progressive", mostly peaceful nations build a strong economic alliance with an army to back it up. Like most western, some eastern european countries, canada, nz, australia, japan, s. korea, some latin american countries like uruguay, maybe chile, peru etc. Some african countries, middle eastern? let's see where india, taiwan, the u.s. are at that time. The alliance should have the possiblity to kick countries out if they regress too much though.
  3. If it's not substantive enough for you or irritates you, you don't have to enter the topic or participate in it. Why not just enter the "substantive" one's or create them yourself.
  4. Many wars (a lot of them illegal and built on lies) "regime changes" sometimes democratically elected governments turned into dictatorships for selfish reasons Talking about democracy while having Saudi as an important ally etc etc. Bases around the world etc etc. Yea even with that i'd still prefer the US over those other two you mentioned But i'd also like to see what a united E.U. would do at the dominant position on the world stage, I mean many things would still be bad and hypocritical but maybe less so
  5. from your post i'm not really sure if you think the american "empire" is a good thing?
  6. Thats sounds like pretty solid advice, send him to karate class or something like that.
  7. it says the same for me.
  8. You also have to see the positive and good things coming out of India/your subcontinent. The many spiritual texts, ideas, seekers. The food ( i mean it might sound silly but food is very important) There are quite a few Indian restaurants in my city. I'm not sure if there are eastern European one's, i'm in western Europe. And feeling some kind of way for Europeans dominating your country all that time ago isn't worth it. It's a different time now and history is history. Even countries like Israel, Germany and France get a long pretty good. The US used to be a british colony and now they're almost besties etc. And your accent is just fine. Bringing such a huge population out of poverty is such a huge task. China had the great leap forward and the cultural revolution where a lot of innocent people died. And now they have all this surveillance and point system. I don't think you'd really want that. I've visited India when as a a child and had a great time there, stayed mostly in a village there for around 7 weeks. Sure i was shocked by the poverty when we visited Kolkatta but other than that i always generally liked the place. My mother visited India when she was young and said she always felt safe there as a woman. The thing with all those rape cases in the media etc. i'm not sure when that started.
  9. Some things which Trump campaigned on, which at least sounded good and true for a lot of people i guess Bringing manufacturing industry/jobs back from China and other countries Stopping the endless wars Bringing troops home Being tougher on immigration (even though Obama deported a loooot of people) Draining the swamp (i guess it at least sounds good, but obviously not much happened etc.) And now after these four years, Trump and reporters fighting everyday covid etc. i guess people are just kind of confused, in their bubble, fed by their search algorithms Trump voters don't even consume/believe the same information/media as you do, so it's all a mess now basically
  10. They're both kind of flabby and old. If either one doesn't want to leave you just slowly push them out of the door and close it.
  11. Wasn't India by that time a lot of different countries and kingdoms and the brits actually made them one nation? Not totally sure but that's what i've heard. I mean it also contains the second largest population of all countries almost on par with China so i'm not hugely amazed by that. Are you generally happy that you have the English language as a state language or would you wish you were generally speaking an Indian language and didn't really have to learn english? Do you know that many European countries also got looted many times, for example during Napoleons time or first and second WW?
  12. How would we defend ourselves against invaders, foreign powers, infiltration etc.? Would we have an army? Nuclear deterrence? A defence pact with other peaceful nations? None of the above, just hope for the best and be a shining example for humanity?
  13. If we would build a new country and tried to make it as "good" as possible. obviously we wouldn't agree on everything. But if we'd try to adopt the best ideas, policies etc. from other countries. What do we take from which country from all around the world to build our new "utopia" ?
  14. I should Probably Earth. We'd even need to vote on which place we want. Mountainous, Island, climate etc.? A place with beaches, mountains and fertile soil would be awesome (I'm looking at you New Zealand) but in the end we'd probably get any "decent" place we could buy and agree upon.
  15. We'd see if we want democracy as a form of government or if we find something better. And i guess we'd have to vote on most things, as some type of direct democracy. Who would it be good enough for? Some things will be good for you and some won't. Who'd live there? I can't decide that. Would there be requirements to live there like for example a certain amount of plant medicine sessions?
  16. That's why i put utopia into quotes and said try to make it as good as possible, nothing will be perfect. We could try to integrate let's say the ice cream culture of Italy. and then it'll be on every corner. Sounds good. Would it be mandatory for every citizen or just rituals and gatherings etc. where it's offered and people could take it? Also would we adopt holidays like Christmas. Would we try to adopt every holiday from around the world? Would we try to come up with new ones? Or go back to the ancient ones? before Christianity etc.
