Why do people take misinformation about covid19 vaccine serious?! Are you kidding? I hope you get the seriousness of this topic. JRE is the biggest podcast worldwide and have some responsibilities, before spreading misinformation of any kind. -

With stupid I didn't mean like complete idiot, come on, the guy is a self made multimillioner, I think it is obvious that he isn't a idiot. The problem is because of the complete absence of trustworthy media, there are millions of ppl looking at this guy and believing everything he says. And @Leo Gura of course it is a gossip show, but unfortunately most of the ppl don't look it that way, they look it as kind of replacement of the mainstream media! That's the real danger I see. -

Exactly! And the most shocking thing for me was his respond 'I've read something else' OMFG He has read something different!? Omfg. ?? This is the most popular podcast and he is talking about the most important issue during a huge longlasting pandemic. I mean normally a guy with this audience, position and responsibilities should read a lot, compare many sources before claiming anything, especially when outside his areas of competence . I mean what should i say he is not stupid HE IS SUPER STUPID! And is not because he made one mistake it is because of his whole approach of analyzing data and making any kind of conclusions. -

I don't get your point with CNN? Who said CNN is better? My claim is both CNN & JRE are terrible as news reporter, both super bias and frankly pathetic... There is no real media right now. Anyway Joe should stay my opinion within the fields he knows something about mma & comedy and shut the fuck up about anything else -

Hm, I don't think he is more or less egocentric than the average person. That isn't the problem. To be honest I think he is a very emphatic and open minded to some extend. The bigger problem is he can not handle the big influence and the responsibility coming with it. I mean the guy is proficient only in comedy, mixed martial arts & podcast, in every other fields he doesn't have the slightest idea whatsoever. And he is not that open minden as he / his fans claim to be. I mean come on he says he is more lefty / liberal, but most of his friends, his values & interests are pretty right / conservativ oriented. The bigger problem is that the mainstream media failed completely, so, average iq guys like Joe become the new mainstream media without any kind of journalistic training. He isnt even able to extract the truth and ask hard questions, what is understandable because of lacking any training in that field. And almost all of his guests are basically having the same biases as him, so he is operating completely within the conformation bias. So the bottom line is we as society failed to create a respectful trustworthy mainstream media, and guys like Joe, Alex etc. filled this vacuum, spreading conscious or not misinformation. This time, we are living in, is really the wild wild west of media & misinformation ??? -

Exactly. Yep. I loved his show back in the time, but now his is pushing his own biases and fears and promoting them to be truth, is laughable... and everybody around him is kissing his ass because of his huge audience. And surrounded by all this asskisser hi became super delusional -
Oh man..., I can’t deal with this stupid coronavirus conspiracy theorists anymore, meanwhile is much too much & almost everywhere. There are everywhere... in my circle of friends, in my professional life, in my extended family, in the bus, in the train and so on ... And the worst part is not all of them are even that stupid or complete idiots . For instance today I called an old friend of mine, I haven’t contacted for a long time, just to congratulate him his birthday and like always to exchange some positive vibes between two old buddies. The guy talked the whole time, like more than 30 min. only about the vaccine’s conspiracy, and some crazy conspiracy stuff related to this > close circle of people that aim a total control of the population and crazy shit like this . I even tried to be neutral and tried to just past this subject, so I said: look I am not a professional virologist or anything close to this field so I don’t really have a professional opinion, basically I said there is always some danger with any vaccine, but may be that’s the lesser evil compared to Covid. This very simple opinion of mine (and somehow pretty logical & sane form my perspective ) really triggered the guy and he talked and talked and talked.... At the beginning of the corona crises, I told the worst thing is the obvious one: the many people that died because of the virus. Then I thought, all the limitations of communication, social life, transportation, and the consequences of this long-lasting isolation could be even worst for our collective psyche. But now I start thinking that the worst consequence is actually the mind virus and the crazy spreading of this conspiracy theorists....

Exactly! You are absolutely right. -
Ivan Dimi replied to Ivan Dimi's topic in Society, Politics, Government, Environment, Current Events
For sure! and that´s predictable like all other cutting edge technology! It has absolutely nothing to do with conspiracy theories whatsoever. The question here for me personally was to choose the lesser evil. For me personally that is the vaccine, but who knows 5-10-20 years from now, if that was the right choice. But one thing we know now and for sure is that the virus can be deadly even for healthy young ppl and in some cases can fucked your immune system for the long run (this one I know for sure from people I know, healthy young ppl that until this day have some permanent postcorona problems...) -

@BlackMaze I think you missed my point here . I am not talking about the vaccine and anything about it (pro, contra, neutral or whatsoever). That is a completely different topic. I am talking about the crazy conspiracy theories spreading exactly like a virus --> that is mind-blowing for me how ppl believe in shit like Bill Gates is behind all this, being the super villain Puppet Master.. because the old guy has nothing better to do hahahahah -

Yeah man, terrible! I've seen people literally changed their persona and now all they do, talk, read & identify with (and spam other ppl) is this stupid conspiracy. Crazy times we live in.... super crazy -
@erik8lrl wow, incredible book collection! Thank you for the recommendation. I know Christopher Alexander actually from his book ´A Pattern Language´ - it was / is one of the most recommended architecture book.

Just watched Ex Machina and had some thoughts / insights about how absurd the mainstream idea of artificial intelligence is. The movie itself is not great, but still a very very good one, an interesting mix of science fiction + psychological thriller + some aspects of morality, humanity, consciousness etc. Basically it is about testing a robot if it/she has consciousness. So here my thoughts about the absurdity of perusing AI and why this cannot be done in the materialistic way looking for some kind of creation that have a human like consciousness. I guess in the mainstream there are different definitions of AI, so let’s have a look: - In a simplistic basic way, we already have AI, lots of them. Even a very simple calculator / data processor is already an AI. What about the smartphones everybody uses today? I mean even 30 years ago that wasn’t even predicted by sci-fiction! But still, that’s not the AI Elon Musk is afraid of… - And Elon Musk is afraid of AI that is going to kill humanity. For me is this scenario absolutely possible and frankly not even that much outrageous. I even don’t thing that this kind of AI has to be that ´intelligent´ or ´conscious´ in the materialistic sense. Here a possible scenario: One day all earth resources are going to be managed through some giga powerful computer and every single resource on this planet (not only energy, but as well air, water etc.) is going to be measured, stored and distributed in a (lets hope) fare way to help humanity develop in the best possible way. Lets say this incredible powerful and ´intelligent´ system is optimized to serve the earth fistful and then humanity. Let´s say the humans overpopulated earth so much that the planet is going to die, so this powerful giga computer is going to kill the most of the people to save the planet… But even in that scenario this AI doesn’t have a human kind of consciousness whatsoever… In the end still a complex algorithm based on zeros and ones, nothing more than a complex calculator. - The third kind (and the most exiting & topic of Ex Machina) of AI would be an AI that would have ´a human like consciousness´. Here why this is a impossible paradox. First of all, even if we theoretically can try to reconstruct a human, there are infinite number of parameters with infinite features, with infinite characteristics and so on to be reconstructed. So you cannot reconstruct infinity… Than the idea of creating consciousness out of the materialistic world is a paradox, because the materialistic world is being imagined by the consciousness, so is a paradox. A imagination can not create consciousness, it is rather the other way.

To do that, let say if theoretically possible, you have to add an infinite number of parameters. And even if the AI can learn by itself, it has to learn infinite numbers of things for infinite time... so even if theoretically possible, it is by the lows of nature we apply impossible. Of course you can always isolate some areas and build a algorithm / program / machine that is better than every living human > for example chess, calculating etc. But still even if an AI is more ´intelligent´ in thousands even millions of closed fields / areas, there would be always a infinite number of areas where the AI cant comprehend. And yes, the movie is still brilliant -
Ivan Dimi replied to Ivan Dimi's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Exactly that's the problem / paradox. I don't think you can reduce the human Consciousness to 'millions of threads of awareness simultaneously, processed into one main though' I don't think we can ever comprehend & understand the human Consciousness using the mainstream scientific method / human logic, because Consciousness is incomprehensible that way. To create Consciousness that complex you have to come from a place of higher Consciousness / God's Consciousness. Of course you can build some algorithm / machines that imitates awareness, but you can't build the complexity of something you can never fully comprehend through the methods of science. It is a paradox. -
This subject is pretty big, so it can be even series of videos Many interesting subtopic: - does creativity happens from oneself or to oneself - can creativity boost the level of consciousness - can creativity (in the highest form) lead to enlightenment - what are the purest forms of creativity - some practical advises for boosting creativity - some great example of high level creativity - Is great / pure Art the ego interpretation of capturing a glimpse of God's consciousness - is Creativity the North Star we should always follow by choices in life / career / relationships

Ivan Dimi replied to Ivan Dimi's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Sure, because everything is Consciousness, strictly speaking you can't create anything else but different forms of Consciousness. However the point with AI is that you cannot create higher consciousness (like the human one or higher) using lower consciousness methods (-> like simple materialistic science & engineering). It is a paradox. -
People who are heavily muscular typically have a high basal metabolic rate, or BMR, which means they burn a significant number of calories, even when resting. https://www.livestrong.com/article/447243-is-it-a-myth-that-muscle-burns-more-calories-than-fat/
